Gonna need your TTPD opinions since you went MIA like a week after it dropped

Honestly this is probably a good thing bc it's grown on me a LOT so First of all Anthology >> main album but it's closer than it used to be

Breakdown of my thoughts on each song under the cut warning this is LONG

Fortnight- Not a bad song but honestly one of her weakest singles and I only really listen to it on a full album listen, the chill production just isn't my fav, really like the outro though

TTPD- My least favourite song on the album and one of the worst in her discography purely bc the 2nd verse is that bad? Hate to say it but yeah! (I genuinely really like the production, LOVE the outro, but god I'm sorry I literally will skip through that verse when listening if I can, shoutout to the AnderPerry edits though)

MBOBHFT- One that I've really grown to like a lot more, love the lush production, HE WAS MY BEST FRIEND! DOWN AT THE SANDLOT

Down Bad- Was an instant fav on first listen and still top 5 of the whole album at least. One of those songs where she picks a metaphor and explores it to perfection, and THE TOUR VISUALS>>> Yes I bought the sweater no I didn't even see it live bc it didn't exist for the Aus shows, anyway

SLL- I will still always be a little bitter the vibe of the opening wasn't the whole song bc it's GORGEOUS but a very solid track 5, emotionally devastating lyrics as always, just not my FAV production

BDILH- Absolutely love the production, love the story in a welcome back cowboy like me way not necessarily how the general fandom loves it, forbidden love with catholic guilt song part 1

FOTS- Probably has jumped the highest up my ranking since release, always loved it lyrically but the production just clicked at some point like I get it now. Didn't hurt that it kinda became THE Buddie song post 8x06 <3

Florida!!!- Florence has the voice of an angel, I adore the dark and moody vibe, the bridge is SO addicting, and we love promoting husband murder

Guilty As Sin- Was my immediate favourite on first listen and honestly still is, incredible pop song, perfect mix of sexy and sad, gay as hell, forbidden love with catholic guilt song part 2, the acapella part post bridge with the drums then coming in is the best 10 seconds of the album

WAOLOM- Was honestly higher ranked initially but I think I overplayed it a bit, still love the drama of it all and the theatre kid energy of the tour performance, track 10 always hits

ICFH- One of my least favs, love the country vibe in theory but idk something isn't clicking, could genuinely just be trauma from suffering through all my friends' shitty boyfriends tbh

loml- Honestly so sad I barely listen to it but love the build and a classic twist of the meaning in the last chorus

ICDIWABH- Definitely quite overplayed now on the radio but another great premise executed perfectly, love the flashy vibe, obviously the tour version is everything

TSMWEL- Again I don't listen to it HEAPS but when I do it's great, love the epic scope and the build, BRUTAL lyrics like jesus christ that bridge, I have *thoughts* on the meaning but what else is new

The Alchemy- I actually really love the production, and lyrically it's fantastic, I just genuinely get annoyed that people heard a few sport references (not even football bc the lyric is touch down with two words as in a plane) and made it about that man when I feel like it's clearly a second chance romance or in my opinion about the FANS but anyway don't get me started

Clara Bow- Brilliant closer, gasped when I heard "you look like Taylor Swift", love the more simple production

The Black Dog- Another instant fav, ADORE the production, the anger and sadness is palpable, the edits eat, and as the owner of a literal black dog I was always gonna love it

imgonnagetyouback- One of the most underrated imo, no one talks about it but honestly my second most listened to after Guilty, SO fun and flirty and sexy and pining, the backing vocals where she kinda does the "miiiiIIIIIiine" scratch my brain, the best pop song she's put out since probably Cruel Summer

The Albatross- Again one I don't listen to heaps but very pretty production, love the interpretation of the titular story, always pleasantly surprised by how good it is when I do listen

CSSM- SO FUCKING GOOD, genuinely have sobbed to it, we have canon bisexuality, as someone who has never gotten over anything ever "cause I wonder will I always wonder" is kinda evil of her

HDIE- Definitely the track 5 of the anthology, perfect level of self-awareness of her public image used in a devastating way, OW!

SHS- Love the production, some of the lyrics kinda make me wanna die a bit inside but I acknowledge that's a me problem, it's fun and I'd love more of this vibe going foward

IHIH- So folkmore in the best way, literally written about me, incredibly pretty production too

TYA- Honestly also one of my least fav, I get what she was going for but doesn't quite stick the landing I think, also any mum mention knocks things down a ranking which isn't her fault but is the truth

ILIPW- The shortest song in her discography but still manages to pack a punch, another super underrated one like I don't see anyone talking about it but it's SO GOOD! Love when she sounds kind of insane girl me too.

The Prophecy- You know my Percy Jackson loving ass was immediately obsessed, one of the saddest songs she's ever written, GORGEOUS production, starts probably the best run of songs on the album, so SO good

Cassandra- Welcome back mad woman but this time with Greek mythology references we love it. Production really enhances the anger of the lyrics, love the storytelling

Peter- The best example of perfect execution of a concept, probably the *best* song on the album by quality if I had to pick, I have cried to it a LOT, the simple production makes it hurt even more and god the BRIDGE

The Bolter- VERY fun production, best story song on the album, so catchy while also having so much to say. I'm constantly thinking about the Cornelia Street mashup (especially in THAT dress, to quote my friend "mama a comphet behind you"), also Amy March you will always be famous

Robin- Honestly still unpacking how I interpret this song, not one I listen to often but I definitely don't DISLIKE it idk

The Manuscript- One of her best album closers ever, again super underrated, so bittersweet in the best way, I don't listen to it as much as I should honestly

Holy shit that was long anyway overall quite positive, some of her best songs ever released but a tiny amount of her worst. I'm definitely ready for something different than the main album's production that still feels very similar to Midnights but there's enough experimentation happening that I'm hopeful, also everyone thank Aaron Dessner for being there in the end <3
