I still absolutely cannot get over the fact that they chose '"Fame < Infamy" to play in Somerset, either!
I've always thought it was one of their more criminally underrated songs, and as a fellow Cheesehead, i'd lowkey been hoping they'd play it in my home state. I didn't go to the concert, but imagine how I screamed when I saw the video later! I'm so glad you got to witness it firsthand!
It was unreal!! We’ll always be the show that almost got rained out but got thee most incredible surprise song, and I can’t be too mad about it.

also also seeing fame < infamy live is like. a pivotal life moment now. always been one of my absolute faves, and I hoped they would do it as the 8 ball song, but they have so many tunes, and I didn’t want to get too attached to one specific song. so when Pete was talking to the magic 8 ball and asked “is there... too much green... to feel blue?” I didn’t even process what was happening until the unbelievable intro to the song starts. I looked at my friend, who loves that song as much as I do, maybe even more, and we just screamed “OH MY GOD THEY’RE DOING IT” and hugged when they finished and yelled and cried and just. oh my god. didn’t even realize it was the live debut until later. i’m still in shock. unbelievable

okay I was at the delayed/shortened Fall Out Boy show in Somerset, Wisconsin and when I tell you I was so worried the changed setlist was not going to include Headfirst Slide, maybe my favorite song of theirs and a big reason I decided to go to the concert… I was stressed!! But when they started playing it I screamed in a way I haven’t screamt since the FOB shows I went to when I was 16!! I had a full body experience!! If you saw me in that moment no you didn’t!!!

since I started watching Yellowjackets I’ve always said that it’s the best depiction of teen girlhood I’ve seen, including the murders and cannibalism et al, and I think 2x07 was another very interesting piece of that puzzle, specifically the Shauna/Lottie scene. Obviously we know these characters have been through so much shit, but even without that, sometimes when you’re a teenage girl you just want to kick and punch and beat the fuck out of someone, even though deep down you know they don’t deserve it, but they’re there and you just have So Much Rage and it Needs To Escape. sometimes it’s not physical, it rarely is, but the anger is undeniable and someone or maybe everyone or maybe no one has wronged you and you need to lash out and hurt someone until you feel better and roll your eyes when your victim coughs up blood.
But also, conversely, sometimes your friend is hurting and you can’t think of a better way to help them other than volunteering to be their punching bag. you step in and you take it because hopefully it will help them and everyone will be better for it. you’ll be unable to stand afterwards but it’s fine, you’ll survive, you’re pretty sure, probably. again, in most situations this is rarely physical violence, but the verbal kind can hit just as hard, or at least it feels like it at the time. I think at that age you can have such empathy and kindness that you don’t always know how to use, you want to please everyone but haven’t quite figured out the best way to do that, so you put your hands behind your back and you don’t fight back and you hope beyond hope that this helps. maybe I’m just telling on myself here as a forever people pleaser who also frequently experiences The Rage, but I think this dynamic is fascinating and really accurate about the teen girl mindset, even without the obvious traumas these kids have gone through.

yellowjackets 2x06 did like. The best possible job of conveying how Fucked up this all is. how unbelievable scared not only Shauna but all the other kids were during the whole birth. misty thrives on chaos and saving the day and even she was freaked out. how terrifying it would be to suddenly be thrust into this whole situation when you’re all tired and starving and cold and so so scared and now one of your teammates, who already lost her best friend and clearly hasn’t processed that yet, is having a baby, and you don’t really know how this should go but this doesn’t seem right, and there’s so much blood, and you’re all just kids and you don’t know what to do.
When Shauna wakes back up the writing and direction and performances do such an incredible job of showing how all the others felt while she was under. they’ve got a dead baby and their friend bleeding out and they don’t know what to do. they’re all clearly so shocked and traumatized. seeing Tai and Van cry like that, they must’ve been so worried that Shauna was gone, but now she’s awake and they have to tell her basically the saddest thing you could ever tell a person. and at least some of them had to know this was probably going to happen, this probably wasn’t going to turn out well, but the baby had turned into this beacon of hope and now he’s just. gone. and now they have to deal with that while there’s so many other traumas and sins they’ve committed that they can’t even think about because it’s just too much. so good!!

... I honestly can't put it into the words in a way that would do it any justice but...
I feel like I am watching history unfold as I continue to consume Lil Nas X's music. You cannot tell me it's not that deep because it actually is.

For decades straight people have portrayed bisexuals as sexy, suave & mysterious, and I’m so grateful that as soon bisexuals were actually allowed to talk about ourselves via social media, we immediately corrected that perception

how did we all just casually listen to Take Me To Church on the radio in 2014??
you’re telling me we really heard lyrics like “there is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin” and “if i’m a pagan of the good times, my lover’s the sunlight” and didn’t go absolutely buck wild???
