Guys my age don’t want to put in the work. They tell me it’s been months…years even…since they’ve scored. Yet they continue to be overly familiar without any effort to get to know me.

Meanwhile my retiree boyfriends are texting me good morning and goodnight, asking about my day, telling me about theirs. They buy me gifts because they see something that reminds them of me. They remember what day I have counseling and ask if it went well. They plan adventures because they know I can’t go by myself and they drive hours just to see me.

Guys my age say they don’t understand women, but it’s not hard. We’re people. Much like men, all of us are different. We have unique motivations and values. There’s no hive mind. One thing we can all agree on though: you’re not getting it because someone else is giving it to us better.

Found enough yarn at the thrift store to make my first blanket!! I made half of it but I had to return to the thrift store to get the accent color. There was only one skein left! It’s gonna be a little short but not by much I hope.

So excited to finish yet I promptly lost all of my crochet needles except the lace ones and made a bookmark instead.
