love post canon assassination classroom because these kids spent a school year becoming quite possibly the smartest, most elite spec ops soldiers in the entire country and they all have a unique and intense desire for bloodlust and now they're just running around japan. imagine you just walk into work one day bitching about your annoying landlord and your co-worker offers to kill them for you as the first solution and it's all vaguely uncomfortable because you can't tell if they're joking or not. and then when you shoot that down they present another fucked up, convuluted plan on how to make the landlord not bother you and now you're a little scared of the random person in the office next to yours. sometimes this same coworker says "i know a guy" and you're unsure if it's known politician akabane karma or the head of the department of defense karasuma tadaomi or olympic baseball player sugino tomohito or famous actress kayano kaede or the guy who runs the killer ramen shop down the street or your deliquent nephew's teacher. because that's what interacting with one of the 3-E kids in adulthood would be like

We never really talked about it but The Ugly Ducking that grew up to be a beautiful swan was still probably pretty fugly from a duck鈥檚 perspective

Rewatched assassination classroom for the first time since middle school and I feel like it鈥檚 succhhh a good criticism of the school system and how it treats neurodivergent/mentally ill students, and students who just don鈥檛 fit the status quo in general.
In the story all the students in class E are treated as delinquents and lost causes due to their grades and apparent lack of passion for school/their future, however upon looking closer thats not the case at all. They鈥檝e all had that passion stomped out by the system that repeatedly degrades them and keeps them isolated, throwing labels on students instead of addressing their personal needs and struggles. Take Okuda for example, honestly as an autistic person I see a lot of myself in her, hell she even has a whole monologue about struggling with social cues/communication and because of that she鈥檚 thrown into the outcast category because she doesn鈥檛 conform socially. Along with that she鈥檚 EXTREMELY proficient in her special interest but struggles in other categories. Unfortunately since her strengths don鈥檛 align with the school鈥檚 they don鈥檛 matter.
All these kids have different learning styles and have different methods of going about doing things, and once those are catered to by Koro-Sensei they all begin to thrive and begin to enjoy life. Once they finally receive the one on one attention they need they actually have a fair playing field that the school system tried so desperately to keep them from. This even applies to Karma. In my opinion he shows a lot of precursors for ASPD or a similar disorder of sorts. Instead of this being addressed properly he鈥檚 just given punishment after punishment and labeled a bad kid. However once Koro-Sensei does what he does best and shows him patience we can see that he鈥檚 genuinely being helped in a way that suits him, the class is an excellent outlet and Koro-Sensei encourages him to direct his energy at him, along with tapping into his other potentials that had previously gone ignored.
A lot of nd kids have faced similar situations and get completely shoved to the side and go under the radar due to ignorance and hierarchy systems that are built to keep them at the bottom
Anyways ramble over I have more thoughts that I might post later and to end this off Nagisa is transmasc coded and I will die on that hill (I mean cmon a huge part of his character is hating how people force him into presenting/being perceived as fem and his resolution is embracing his masculinity that was previously rejected)
