Mom of two girls I am an indulging mom of two girls and I love my life now like never before. I feel lucky, blessed and complete with both my girls in my little family. It’s only when I see them bonding together when my heart screams gratitude and joy and I feel that I couldn’t have been in a better place than this. I think most families with daughters will agree with what I am going to say about our lives being so much fun. It feels great to be a parent- a mom of two girls. I, personally, wanted to be a mother to two kids. This is mainly for knowing and experiencing what it is to share maternal- filial bond in case of two children. It was intriguing and interesting to see how I, would try, right from the beginning, not to be unjust to either of them. They would both get an equal share of hugs, kisses or toffees. When annoyed, I may hit either of them. Sooner or later, the other one, too, would have to bear the brunt. Changing Perspective in Indian Society In India, around me, I feel proud to see so many couples who have chosen to stop and be happy with a female offspring. On the other hand, I have also noticed parents trying their luck twice or thrice till finally a boy is born. Similarly, there are numerous parents who are perfectly happy with two daughters. If at all, I had wished for a male child, it was again for a fulfilling experience’- that of knowing the difference between raising a girl and a boy! But certainly not for reasons like perpetuation of the family name or care during old age or for performing the last rites when I am gone! A child, when reared and groomed painstakingly, grows up to be well-mannered and duty-bound. So are both of them! I, along with my husband, feel blessed that we have them, because, both of them are unique, differently talented, compassionate, cultured and considerate. As it is, kids don’t ask to be born. When we bring them into this world on our own volition, we must look after them well!
