Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. (Exact @ Dec 22 2020, 3.58am NSW Australia). Part 1.

Seeing as though we are coming up to the much talked about Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Aquarius - the sign of the 'Water Bearer', or 'The Star' in Tarot, I thought this excellent documentary about women during the revolution would be a great place to start (link below).

In the chart cast for the exact moment, we have Venus in loud Sagittarius on the ascendant making a separating sextile to Jupiter and Saturn. The chart ruler is Jupiter, and Venus is being 'received' by Jupiter. He is taking care of her needs wonderfully, and putting her first and foremost. Venus in return receives Saturn and Jupiter via face, so she looks upon them with some favour also. A generally auspicious event.

Venus rules the sixth and 12th houses of the chart, showing that topics generally hidden from view are being brought to light. The ways women have been kept in subservient roles, behind the scenes, abused, with less pay and more work. The ways we as a society are our own worst enemy when it comes to topics around women's freedom and equality. This could also have to do with how we use and abuse the earth, relationships, and having to reassess and realign our values to include more beauty, fairness and earth honouring practices. Rights and equality for all living creatures! Anyone notice Witchcraft and Paganism having a massive revival? Yep...

Sun conjunct Antares

Anyone else feeling irritable and hot-headed today?

The Sun is currently in cahoots with the fixed star Antares. Antares is known as the Rival of Mars – the Scorpions Heart. He is the Scorpion that kills the arrogant and bragging hunter Orion in stellar lore. So he is not one to be messed with. Some of the issues that arise when this fixed star is activated in a natal chart, or via transit are “destructiveness, liberality, rashness, headstrong, self-destructive through obstinacy, fevers and sickness, dishonour, and pretended religion”. If that is not enough, we have five planets currently in the sky that are ruled or favoured by Mars – the God of War.

What does one do about it? Well, with this much Mars I suggest that to stay in balance, and not get the worst effects of these next couple of days, or become Orion, we definitely need to concentrate on working out some of these Mars/Antares energies effectively. Go to the gym or for a swim, go for a walk, furiously write all of your frustrations out into your journal, but whatever you do – don’t try and ignore it or bottle it up because Mars/Antares does not like to be ignored. In fact – he can’t be!

It is a very good time to focus on the things that you don’t want in your life anymore. What internal or external habits or life experiences do you need to ‘kill’? Start the ball rolling. Now is the time!

Herbs: Hops (Humulus lupulus) the infamous herb traditionally used to brew beer. Hops is excellent at cleansing the bloodstream of poison (very apt for Antares/Mars choler) and also helps with fevers due to its cooling effects. It is great for stress and tension and any kind of irritability or inflammation in the digestive system.

Plant lore: Ferns were traditionally used for protection, and are ruled by Venus. Sit by a fern and ask it to help you cool down. Let its gently unfurling fronds and mottled shade cool your energy body.

Foods: Cooling, sweet and watery foods such as cucumber, watermelon. Nothing spicy or salty.
