GLITTER. SALE.

Put those two words together and you have a day at Goodwill where the Thrift Gods are watching over you and all stars are aligned.

The Glitter Sale is an event held once a year at the Seattle Goodwill (700 Dearborn Place S, Seattle, WA 98144) and, man, is it an event to be at! All of the proceeds go toward job training and employment opportunities--last year's Glitter Sale helped over 9,000 individuals through programs and services. Let's just say Goodwill really knows what they're doing because what better way is there than to help others for a great cause WHILE helping yourself?

From unique finds to designer vintage treasures, you're bound to find more than one item that will sweep you off your feet and forever have a place in your heart.  We can't wait to show you what we've thrifted today.

At the event--thanks to Instagram and all its social media magic--we were able to connect and meet with Seattle Goodwill's Communication Coordinator, Kim, who is an absolute sweetheart.  With an exchange of contact information, we might have a few (or more) things up our thrifted sleeves to contribute to and collaborate with Seattle Goodwill ;)!

Time to show who's boss!

E definitely looks like the HBIC of thrifting with her plaid 80s/90s vibe dress (think Hilary Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air) paired with black oxford boots with two-toned texture for $7.99--these thrift finds were found at the Ballard Goodwill!

M is wearing a black, all mesh Sisley maxi dress ($7.99) with all black underneath and black boots--also found at the Ballard Goodwill.

We're keeping it short today because it is just too nice outside not to go for a walk at the park along the river!

Coffee tastes really good today--just putting that out there!

M's Saks Fifth Avenue crew neck sweater was $3.99 paired with very comfortable Popular Basics varsity-styled shorts sampled from her good friend, Justin. The Reebok shoes were $9.99 and basically brand new! Not a mark on it, even on the bottom. Both the crew neck sweater as well as the sneakers were found at the Ballard Goodwill. The "World Famous" hat was found in the back of E's hubby's hat collection (thank you, DJ YUP)!

E's beautifully detailed and colored maxi skirt was 12.99 and is paired with a black body-tank of her own, black sandals ($10.00) and a lightweight wool vintage hat to pull it all together.

The football game is going on in the 206 right now; if you're out there at CenturyLink Field (or your local bar): be safe and go Seahawks!

It's time to dress up!

Whether you're in the mood for simple color-blocking or dainty florals--now is the time to get your dress on before it gets any chillier!

Pair M's black and bright green 90s-style dress ($4.99) with an acid wash jean jacket and you'll be ready to kick it at your favorite bar with your friends--M loves a chill night in Capital Hill at Cha Cha Lounge followed by some tasty Big Mario's pizza right next door!

E's delicate floral dress ($7.99) can be paired with a long and flowy knitted kimono and worn straight to dinner followed by a decadent dessert--E especially likes to go to Umi Sake House in Belltown and Cupcake Royale in Bellevue!

We're finally back!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  Summer is slowly drifting away here in Seattle--sad to say--BUT that doesn't mean you can't stick to poppy summer colors like the ones on M's multi-color patterned dress!

E is definitely getting in the fall spirit with her thrift fit: a mesh orange and green toned blouse with flared sleeves, a crinkled silk skirt (think texture) with chunky heels topped with a lightweight wool vintage hat.

The blouse as well as the dress were both found at a Tacoma consignment shop, Mandelin's, for under $15 each. Oh! And the vintage Chanel & Givenchy clip-on earrings are also from Mandelin's for under $50 each. We're definitely going back! Thank you!

E's silk skirt is from the Goodwill in Renton for $12.99 and M's vintage hat was a collectible at the Ballard Goodwill for $9.99.

It's time for some action!

E's vividly green and floral silk scarf amounts to $2.99 and the lovely blush pink dress she wears is straight from the closet of her mother. M sports her vintage Adidas jersey ($5.99) paired with another vintage item by Reebok at $5.99 (the Adidas bucket hat has been hers since her teen days)! ... Also the badminton looking item is actually a fly zapper.

Over here in Seattle, it's finally not too hot and not too chilly. We had a bit of overcast today but all-in-all it was a wonderful day--we hope you had the same!

M and E decided to play with the same colors and pieces of clothing today. High-waisted jean shorts, button up shirts, paper bowler hats, and two-strap sandals.

We also went thrifting today so be prepared for what's to come! Lately, vintage items are definitely grabbing our attention. Upcycling some of our thrifted pieces have also been keeping us very busy so stay tuned for the one-of-a-kind pieces of clothing we make!

Hi loves!

We’ve been working on multiple projects which explains our super long hiatus recently—but here we are, upcycling thrifted pieces.

We found a vivid ultraviolet blue short-sleeved long (if that makes any sense) 80s blazer with a missing button and decided to revamp it.

- 1” Italian-made buttons by La Mode (from Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Store for 40% off of $2.00)

- Black chiffon blouse with an embroidered high-collar

- Burgundy bowler hat to pull the outfit together

As for the bottom half, jazz it up with sheer black nylons!

Two very different thrift fits for you today!

E and our bride-to-be photographer/amazing friend, Faye, are jetting out to Vegas soon for Faye's bachelorette celebration. If E has time, she's going to hit up the thrift shops of Sin City.

M is currently collaborating and representing ThriftME206 for an upcoming industry mixer event coming up next week which is hosted by OutsideThinc & SmG Music and with performances by ASHES The Chosen, Contempo, & DJ Jody J. The theme is BLUE; if E can make it back on time, you already know we'll be in thrifted blue outfits!

ALDO A-List S/S '14 Launch Party

It was such a great experience to have been hosts for ALDO's A-List launch party on Sunday, May 18th. The few weeks that we had to send out invites, plan and implement a promotional photo shoot for the event and find our thrifted outfits for the party was very exciting and--not gonna lie--very nerve-racking (we had to take a shot of vodka at Joey's next door before walking in)!

But that's not the point, the event turned out beyond our expectations--close family, friends and new faces were all in attendance and we could not have been more grateful for the amount of love, support and ALDO purchases that took place throughout the night. We'd like to thank Vita Coco Coconut Water, KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn, Sephora and Oscar Hailar (DJ CortexXx) for being a part of the event!

And shout out to Ellen Hong, Olivia Ong, Jake Koistinen, Dennis Lam, and Elson Tran for being so MAJOR! You guys should all apply to be professional models.

E's thrifted pants were $5.97 (no brand) and M's thrifted Zara dress was $10! Both finds were thrifted at the Bellevue Goodwill. We saw that the prints were so similar so it only made sense that we pair it up and stay twinning ;)!
