'girl power' content before everyone got obsessed with feminism and wokeness was soooo much more fun. powerpuff girls, Hannah Montana, my life as a teenage robot, that's so raven, Kim possible, Winx club, and the like were really really good shows with strong female leads that were really good because it was just girls doing fun shit. now everything has to be subversive and gritty and #girlboss and we get shit like Captain Marvel that's just propaganda with a bra on it or Jessica jones or the shitty ass Winx club reboot

In 2018, I was so hyped to see Black Panther. I can’t remember why, but we didn’t see it opening weekend. The following Monday, my grandmother passed. I was a wreck, emotionally. From Monday to Friday, I had to prepare my self for her funeral on Saturday. In between all that, I could not decide if I still wanted to see Black Panther or not.
Well Saturday came. I cried. Had an anxiety attack, cried some more and had another attack. Well, after the repass, I decided I wanted to see the movie. Just to take my mind off of my grandmother’s passing.
So we go to the theater, bought tickets and went in. I am so glad I went. I can not describe what this movie did for me in dealing with her passing. I could say it took my mind off of it, but it was more than that. It was like a healing that I needed at that very moment.
I will always remember Black Panther for that and Chadwick Boseman played a huge rule in it by playing T’Challa. I was inspired by a great male king who was not afraid to show his emotions and correct the mistakes of his father.
The news of his death was a shock because all I could think about was how I felt in the theater, watching him play T’Challa, and steadily coming to grips with her passing and heal from it.
My prayers go to his mom, dad, brothers and wife.

RIP King 🖤
You’d be hard pressed to find somebody who had a bad thing to say about this man. The world lost a genuinely good soul today. My heart is with his family, friends, fans and his wonderful team.

chadwickboseman It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.
Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.
A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.
It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.
The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
