I think we have talked some about the first question, and it’s sort of the only one I have anything to add on about (Shapa did a great job of explaining/talking about the rest haha)

So pretty much I feel like (from an angst standpoint and as Shapa said) Virgil would sort of feel betrayed as well as upset. Upset about both the fact that Roman didn’t feel comfortable enough to tell them about it (they have a debilitating fear of not being loved and being left by the people they love, so this is something that would add to that fear) and the fact that they were too blinded by their immediate attraction and eventual love of Roman as to not realize Roman is the supervillain they had been researching and wanting to figure out who he was for… almost 8 years at that point

But, despite Roman’s worries, Virgil would never ever think about leaving Roman. Ever. They’re far too in love with him and they’d rather die or be killed than to leave Roman. They have already given him every part of themself that they possibly could, and it would break them more than anyone knows to leave Roman.

Also (from a not angst standpoint) Virgil would only be more attracted to Roman HAVSAHSB- they’ve been high-key crushing on the Phantom and specifically the Phantom’s voice for (again) almost 8 years at that point, and as soon as Roman uses the voice, they absolutely just melt and know they could never stay mad at Roman. They are the biggest simp (and masochist) for Roman and him being the Phantom only made that even more. It’s like Virgil’s celebrity crush turned out to be their boyfriend and they couldn’t be happier about it.

What if they started dating before Virgil found out Roman was the Phantom? It'd probably be a lot angstier I'd assume lol

What was their first date like? I'd take Roman for the classy guy to take them out to some expensive fancy restaurant, but then something more private and romantic after, but could you confirm lol?

do they have arguments often? (i probably know the answer to this already but asking anyway lol) if so, how do they get resolved/how do they fix them?

Hello :3.

1. I feel like Skye (@thunderholtz ) and I have talked about it before but I can't remember clearly haha

I feel like they'd feel kind of betrayed but I can't recall much about how exactly it would go I feel like skye would be better equipped to answer.

Roman would probably be very calm and resign himself to accepting that Virgil might leave him and they they'd be hurt and angry and so he's prepared many methods on keeping Virgil with him or having them keep secrecy.

2. Their first date wasn't all that classy imo

Roman knew that Virgil would probably prefer a more chill and casual date than to a big and extravagant one. He might reserve a table at One of Virgil's favorite restaurants and after they take a small walk and then they go over to Roman's to cuddle and talk while they watch a show. Very sweet and chill.

You're not too far off! :D.

3. They do not <3

They might bicker sometimes and challenge each other with stupid and silly stuff but they almost never get into huge arguments.

Both of them are very logical so whenever they start to have a beginning of an argument they pause and go into separate rooms to calm down before meeting back up in the living room and calmly and carefully discuss and talk it out.

They get resolved so quick and without much frustration you can barely call it an argument. They just end up cuddling and exchanging affection.

They might have play-arguments however because they don't have any often. Its mostly them being silly and overdramatic bddjdbfb

Skye and I joked that they once had a "breakup" where they did one of their play arguments that ended with "GAAASSP how dare you, we're over >:0!!" and both know it's all a joke.

One of them acts offended and leaves and they pretend that they're spending time away from each other before they get bored and call the other back and they reunite with a playful kiss and monologue and they continue their lives like normal hahaha

4. Skye and I have many aus of this au it's insane

Right now we're talking about an AU where Roman's royalty and Virgil was hired to be his assistant. Because of circumstances, they start fake dating and because of Dominic and Analyn they get engaged.

We like to do silly things and concepts with this au. In every au of this au, Roman's still phantom and still some sort of heir and Virgil's still Nonbinary and still some sort of Journalist.

We also had an au where they met in high school in a boarding school and they were kind of Rivals <3.

But I do have one thing to add about number 6-

While Virgil does absolutely trust Roman and knows he can get himself out of whatever and get away from whoever might have kidnapped him, they also are very anxious and they are horrified of losing Roman in some way related to Roman’s villainy/other heroes or villains. So while they wouldn’t make a full plan to rescue him, they absolutely would frantically be searching for him and once they found him they’d try and gear up and be there in case something went south or in case they really did need to get Roman out.

Roman may be the protective one, but Virgil is also hella protective and doesn’t want anything to happen to Roman, so they’d absolutely be fully ready to rescue him if needed.

They wouldn’t just be, like, chilling at home while Roman is kidnapped ahsvahsb

(I truly do agree with all of the things Shapa said in this post, I just wanted to add some extra commentary haha)

(Also I love you for asking questions about this au- I will always want to answer questions about this because I so genuinely love them so much)

1. Who proposes? And how do they do so?

2. Does Roman have some sort of secret lair he goes to to change into his Phantom outfits? To make his plans, etc?

3. How does he manage to get back to where he lives without just waltzing in as Phantom?

4. This one is more random but what kind of place does he have? I was honestly imagining a luxurious penthouse on top of the Kingdom Ent. building skdjakdj

5. What exactly is Kingdom Ent? Is it a technology company? Something else?

6. What would happen if Roman himself got kidnapped? Either as Roman Prince or the Phantom? Like from a different villain/a hero/ some competition? Would Virgil attempt to save him somehow?

7. Does Roman have any enemies/specific people he targets? It's established that it takes him weeks to months to form his plans right? What would make someone a target?

8. how is roman so pretty in your arts, virgil is a hell of a lucky mf ❤️😭

Since this will be LONG long, I'm gonna do a readmore :D.

1. I discussed this with skye and they gave I to share screenshots!

2. He absolutely does! It's main entrance is his office and it's activated by finger print, hidden in his "bookshelf". It leads down to a basement where Roman has his "lair". After he and Virhil have been dating a while, he inputs their finger prints as well <3

3. Because he has nanobots that he releases that disables each and every nearest camera or CCTV. He has modified boots that let's him walk on walls and also go really fast. And he travels in shadows- oh. And in his mansion, He lives completely alone, no maids or butlers or anything. He only hires them on an off day where he has no phantom engagements planned. He can easily walk in, call back his nanobots, then go to his lair and change and let his clothes soak so there won't be bloodstains.

4. He would have a penthouse but, honestly, He lives in a small mansion disconnected from the majority of Cardenia, he's surrounded by trees and it's quite a drive to get there. Roman loves it because there's fresh air and there would be no one watching him at all. He can carry out his plans and experiments without any problems.

5. Kingdom ent. Is something like Sony: It dabbles in a lot of things. It started off as a tech company but as they grew, they started to branch out into other ways of making profit and money so they're also a media company. They make tech and movies and have a news outlet.

6. Virgil knows Roman can save himself and Roman is crafty as shit and knows how to get out of any situation regardless of if he has his tech or not. Don't underestimate the supervillain, my dear. He does not lose or let his opponent win. He is no weak lamb.

7. In personal life detached from his Phantom work? His father HAHAHA- but seriously, all of his targets are the corrupt people in charge of companies like fellow CEOs, executives, etc.. He also targets Corrupt politicians as well. His aim is to eliminate the Corruption in Cardenia and to make sure it never happens, he kills the source straight up. He would give a warning and if they fail to change before then, He kills.

8. Because I love drawing pretty boys <3. And trust me, Virgil thinks the exact same but Roman thinks He's even luckier.

The Moment They Fell

Warnings: I promise this is fluff, but it also has Villiany, mention of crime, killing, murder

Summary: Phantom au Virgil fell in love with Roman at some point… so when was it? This writing shows plenty of times that they possibly fell in love with him.

A/N: this is my and @shapa-likes-art’s shared au, the Phantom au! Roman is a villain and Virgil is a journalist who falls for him. Virgil also uses they/them pronouns in this au! - I quite literally thought of this and couldn’t stop myself from writing this and wrote and edited it all in like… an hour or so. I was just so inspired haha. Anyways, enjoy!!

When did Virgil fall for Roman? Well… there’s not one particular moment that anyone can pinpoint. It was like a bunch of different moments that made up their love for him in the end. So what was the first time they were in love with him?

Maybe it started in college. Their eyes fixed on their laptop screen as a new villain appeared in Cardenia, only 40 minutes away from their college dorm. The Phantom. He was strong. So unbelievably strong. And he had tech that would put any genius technician to shame. He was smart and snarky and intimidating. He made a shiver run down Virgil’s spine at the way he spoke and the crazed but calculated movements he was making.

Or maybe it started when they got fired from their first journalism job and they went full time on their blog and researched nothing but the Phantom day and night. Maybe it was analyzing his every move and slowly realizing that this man was the smartest and most calculated person they had ever had the pleasure of laying their eyes on.

But back then he was just a fantasy. More of a celebrity crush. They loved him in the same way they loved the idea of the world ending. He intrigued them, more than anything. He danced across their mind and they wondered what it would be like to meet him, but it was a fantasy. He was a mystery. He was dangerous, but Virgil knew he would be gorgeous and impressive, much like they thought of the end of the world.

So maybe it was when they were interviewed by billionaire CEO Roman Prince for their job at Kingdom Ent. Maybe it was the way he asked them about their theories and listened to them rant about theories that were already proven false, but they hadn’t written about yet. Maybe it was the fact that, no matter how hard they tried, he was the one person who had ever been able to avoid their analytical eye. He was the one and only person to ever confuse Virgil. He was the one person that Virgil couldn’t read the moment they laid eyes on him. It took more than that to read Roman Prince. And that made Virgil more intrigued in him than they had ever been in anyone else.

But he was just a charmer back then. Sure, they flirted with him, but they definitely wouldn’t say they were in love with him. They were simply scoping him out. They were trying to read him. Sure, he was attractive as any man that Virgil had ever met, but he was just that at first.

Maybe the moment Virgil fell was when they realized how fucking smart Roman was. Maybe it was when Roman showed off his genius casually and Virgil realized that they were more similar than they had thought before. When they realized that Roman wasn’t just some golden child rich boy who got anything he wanted and was stuck up.

Maybe it was when Virgil first heard Roman Prince use the voice of the Phantom in casual conversation. Maybe it was moments later when Virgil realized the tone in his voice from the way it sent shivers down their spine and the way that their heart skipped a beat. Maybe it was when they had gone home and connected all of the evidence and knew that Roman was the Phantom. Maybe it was when he showed up at their apartment to threaten them and they knew he could kill them in that moment, but they didn’t care.

But, no… it wasn’t that either….

So when was it?

Was it when they first made out?

Or perhaps their first date.

Or their second, third, or fourth.

Maybe it was when Roman and Virgil moved in together and they got to spend every waking moment with each other from work to home…

Maybe it was when the simple touch of Roman made Virgil’s stomach flutter with butterflies and made their heart race.

Maybe it was when they noticed just how gentle and caring Roman was and they realized just how happy that made them feel.

Maybe… maybe…

It was all of that. All of the moments that they had seen or known of Roman and the Phantom… they all added up to the love that Virgil developed for Roman. It was all of the firsts, seconds, and so on. It was the soft touches. It was the teasing. It was the jokes. It was the kisses. It was the caring. It was…

It was Roman. All of Roman. All of the time.

They loved everything about him. No matter what time of day or what season or what emotions they were going through. They loved everything about him.

So when did they fall so madly in love with him?

They couldn’t tell exactly, but they now knew when they first realized that they were in love with him.

It was simple. It was simply when they were sitting in their office before they even started dating. They sat there as the work day started to near a close, and as they worked, they started to feel their heart race and a smile creep it’s way onto their face simply from the thought of Roman coming into their office and convincing them to stop working and go home and get some sleep. When they heard footsteps down the hall and then got upset when they realized it wasn’t Roman’s footsteps coming to greet them. When they realized they wanted him around them all of the time. When they were willing to not be working so much to be able to see Roman at whatever time they could…

But, of course, they didn’t let themself know they were in love with him until much later. They just pushed the thought of loving him away and waited for him to show up in their office. They didn’t let themself realize and actually love him until much later. Until they were dating and they let themself realize that he wasn’t going to leave. That he loved them back. That they were safe and comfortable with him.

We may not know when exactly Virgil fell in love with Roman, but we do know that they did fall eventually. We know that Roman and Virgil are madly in love and they will never let each other go. No matter the cost of their relationship. Because they love each other to a fault.

They mainly quit because 1st of all, they didn’t really need a job anymore since they were now living with Roman, but also because now that they had figured out who the Phantom was and they didn’t do any more research, they didn’t have many more theories to post

Pretty much, they didn’t have any Phantom things to write about and they wanted to start writing horror novels and so that’s what they did. Now they just live with Roman and publish their own horror stories and they’re happy with that

It was mentioned before how Virgil quit their job at Kingdom Ent., right? So why did they?

Also, just random words will suddenly be super southern-

And an important thing to remember is they do have a southern drawl just all of the time (you don’t just grow up Deep In The Heart of Texas/Oklahoma and then just fully get rid of your accent haha), but they do try and mask it a bit, but when they’re around Roman after they’re dating, they absolutely do have their accent slip out more and certainly when they’re tired and around Roman

suggestion for the southern accent : maybe also slips out when sleepytired. mine also gets stronger when tired or very very excited lol. /nf
