Have been fixating on Bigb. Here's a design I whipped up with a little bit of spice. And a big Ramble about my design :>

Here's notes about design aspects and choices.

Ramble time: I think instead of choosing a specific mob he would be I took inspiration from many folklore surrounding their unique tricksters. Tricksters are characters who cause mischief, deception and chaos. I think it's pretty fitting for him. He is able to shape-shift and is a different creature hybrid for each life series, testing out how everyone reacts to the form. He keeps a human like appearance as a default to not cause any suspicion. The creature hybrids I chose relate to that season and outside factors, like his allies and soulmate. I had to make a creaking hybrid for wild life, but I think it fits really well. Also, for the human ones marked with question marks is when Bigb uses his default human appearance with a secret little twist. Ok enough of talking about his hybridity, now it's for little details in the design. I tried adding many hearts on his outfit. The armor and even heart beads in his hair (I think I would leave no space next time, having them all be near the bottom, but oh well. For next time). Obviously, I had to include a cookie. So making it his shield was an easy choice (realized I spelt shield wrong in the image oop). I put him in a sweater vest instead of a full sweater to aid with mobility in his arms. And yes I bulked him up and I would definitely make him more muscular next time. (His muscles won't help with his confidence in combat though lol/j) For his portrait I added little facial spots which just give a little something. And finally he has an eye opening scar, on his forehead, which I've put in all the Evo player designs recently (all in different spots). It's to show how the watchers still have a big hold on them. It opens only when they are manipulating his thoughts or actions. They do let the players have enough control so it's their doing hehe. I do want to draw his death scars on his body but I'm a bit too tired rn. Might clean this up later on.

Unfortunate Developments was probably one of the most fun areas i explored and is probably my favourite and i am FERAL about the idea of what happens when the rot consumes 5 pebbles entirely? Thinking along the lines that he has convinced himself that the rot is the only way out, that it will kill him, that this is HIS solution

something i find really impactful is to almost overuse show dont tell in my story so when a character sees something horrifying or their emotions overwhelm them you can have short sentences just out right stating “The townsfolk were gone” or “He was dead”

outright ‘telling’ the audience something can be a really powerful way to convey a sudden plot beat especially when your writing style mainly relies on descriptions and ‘showing’

Show, don’t tell

"Show, don’t tell" means letting readers experience a story through actions, senses, and dialogue instead of outright explaining things. Here are some practical tips to achieve that:

1. Use Sensory Details

Tell: "The room was cold."

Show: "Her breath puffed in faint clouds, and she shivered as frost clung to the edges of the window."

Tell: "He was scared."

Show: "His hands trembled, and his heart thudded so loudly he was sure they could hear it too."

2. Focus on Actions

Tell: "She was angry."

Show: "She slammed the mug onto the counter, coffee sloshing over the rim as her jaw clenched."

Tell: "He was exhausted."

Show: "He stumbled through the door, collapsing onto the couch without even bothering to remove his shoes."

3. Use Dialogue

What characters say and how they say it can reveal their emotions, intentions, or traits.

Tell: "She was worried about the storm."

Show: "Do you think it'll reach us?" she asked, her voice tight, her fingers twisting the hem of her shirt.

4. Show Internal Conflict Through Thoughts or Reactions

Tell: "He was jealous of his friend."

Show: "As his friend held up the trophy, he forced a smile, swallowing the bitter lump rising in his throat."

5. Describe the Environment to Reflect Mood

Use the setting to mirror or hint at emotions or themes.

Tell: "The town was eerie."

Show: "Empty streets stretched into the mist, and the only sound was the faint creak of a weathered sign swinging in the wind."

6. Let Readers Infer Through Context

Give enough clues for the reader to piece things together without spelling it out.

Tell: "The man was a thief."

Show: "He moved through the crowd, fingers brushing pockets, his hand darting away with a glint of gold."

7. Use Subtext in Interactions

What’s left unsaid can reveal as much as what’s spoken.

Tell: "They were uncomfortable around each other."

Show: "He avoided her eyes, pretending to study the painting on the wall. She smoothed her dress for the third time, her fingers fumbling with the hem."

8. Compare to Relatable Experiences

Use metaphors, similes, or comparisons to make an emotion or situation vivid.

Tell: "The mountain was huge."

Show: "The mountain loomed above them, its peak disappearing into the clouds, as if it pierced the heavens."

Practice Example:

Tell: "The village had been destroyed by the fire."

Show: "Charred beams jutted from the rubble like broken ribs, the acrid smell of ash lingering in the air. A child's shoe lay half-buried in the soot, its leather curled from the heat."
