“ chaaaaaa~! ”

red   hadn’t   said   a   word   all   day   but   that   very   specific   and   very   special   sound   of   an   extremely   happy   pikachu   was   all   it   took   to   encourage   a   soft   and   frankly   love   struck   laugh   from   red’s   throat,      leaning   back   on   his   bed   inside   his   little   shack,      fireplace   crackling   away   and   the   little   mouse   seated   on   his   chest.

❛      …   …   yeah   ?      feel   better   now,      chuey   ?      ❜         he   murmured   softly,      tucking   his   jacket   around   the   little   mouse   and   gently   petting   his   head.

taking   in   a   slow   breath   red   pulled   his   partner   pokemon   closer,      giving   him   a   careful   squeeze   as   he   kicked   his   feet   a   little   in   an   attempt   to   expel   some   of   the   sudden   pure   excitement   that   happy   noise   had   given   him.      kachu   was   too   damn   cute   for   his   own   good.

uh hi let’s go pikachu is everything i’ve ever wanted thanks

anyone have any suggestions for what i should name my pikachu when i pick up let’s go tomorrow?

     THE PIKACHU HAPPILY ACCEPTED BEING LIFTED BY HIS TRAINER, his small paws lifting up to press lightly against red’s chest as he looked up so he was looking him in the eye. the pokemon’s slightly confused expression turned into a bright smile.

     he let out a high pitched, HAPPY,“ chaaa! ” to show his excitement at being in his trainer’s arms, leaning forward to nuzzle his cheek.

     to be held and hugged like that was special. a reminder that red cared for him far more than just as a TOOL for battle. pikachu couldn’t wrap his arms around red, but he hoped he knew, from the way the little pokemon pressed his nose against his cheek, that he cared for him just as much.

     pikachu knew, without a doubt, he had the BEST trainer.

     pikachu usually wasn’t so demanding but, in his defense, it was lunchtime. he lasted long enough for his little stomach to GROWL, and then he couldn’t wait any longer. he took little steps over to nicole’s feet, sitting beside her and tapping his tail on the ground repeatedly. 

     “ chu? ”

     a paw pressed against her foot, his gaze turning towards the CLOCK. maybe she didn’t know that it was lunchtime.

     padding along behind the boy had quickly become a part of pikachu’s daily routine. as far as he could tell, he had no pokémon of his own, and that was DANGEROUS. wild pokémon didn’t care who you were, they would attack without question.

     and pikachu didn’t want him to get HURT if he could help it.

     he rushed forward to walk beside him, peaking his head up to look at his self––––proclaimed CHARGE. wasn’t it time for a break?

     “ pika? ”

     even little pokemon had a lot of energy, and that was very clear when it came to pikachu. but a creature that had a lot of energy also needed a lot of REST, and he had found a comfortable place to do just that.

     it was of no consequence to him that that comfortable place was on top of usagi’s books. all that mattered was that he had found a WARM, cozy place to sleep.
