PSA: Scripts for Chapters 2-8 are now available to read on DeviantArt!

READ THEM HERE!! Sorry for the lack of any formal updates for the past couple years; I’m not sure if the comic will continue (unless we are able to get passionate artists working on the comic again, of course, but again, it’s been a while since the last update), but at the very least, I want to show you the story we wanted to tell as both an apology, and to give everyone something to chew on! I go into more detail to why I posted these scripts in the description, but please take note that these are mostly first drafts that are being posted as-is, and any spelling/grammar error that might show up would have been fixed by the time we were going to make these into actual pages! By the way, go check out @bananahkim’s Tumblr page: they’ve made some excellent recreations of some highlights from Chapter 1! And last, but not least, if you haven’t heard, Frankie, Val, and Alfred are also the main characters in their own original comic called ACES! You can check out this comic over on ComicFury and DA Hopefully someday, we can come back, better than ever, but for now, hope you all enjoy the scripts! -MCX

WE’RE BAAACK!

A lot has happened in the year since we last updated this comic; a lot of us, myself included, have been busy working on other projects (including ACES), and the way SVTFOE ended left a sour taste in everyone’s mouths.

Still, I was holding out hope we’d someday get some promising artists that would want to join and make a version of the SVTFOE universe that everyone would be proud of. Luckily, we now have a brand new artist (Tali Talisman) who wanted to keep this project going as much as we do!

That being said, you might be wondering, “Why are we seeing a new version of the Chapter 2 cover?”, and that’s a good question! The long and short answer is that we were kinda falling apart as we started Chapter 2 with the cover and the first couple pages, and it shows; rather than continue the comic as-is and have people ask us why there’s yet another art style change, I figured we should start over and do it right, because we know you expect the comic to be at the quality a story like this should be!

Hopefully, we will be back to updating pages in a more regulated manner, and we can get back to seeing these two guys living their best lives in a dimensional merge-free Echo Creek. ;)

PS, We will probably delete the original versions of the Chapter 2 pages not long after this gets posted, so please pardon our dust!

Hopefully soon we are able to update on this comic but it seems we don’t have a lot of team members to help out and progress is slow due to other comics being worked on.

We apologize for the lack of activity here, but a lot of the artists have been either busy with school/work, or have since been MIA. 

In other words, we are accepting new artists! At the moment, we’re wanting people who can sketch with a similar art style to the show, but we’ll also look at lineart/colorists/etc. 

All you have to do is fill out our survey, and PM @midnightclubx here, just so I know you’ve filled out the application and I can review your work!

Once again, we’re sorry for being dead for a while, but we do want to get back on track!

We’re finally here: The end of Chapter 1!

It took longer than it probably should have, but as I’ve said in the past, Chapter 2 is where the story starts to deviate from the SVTFOE storyline a tad. Don’t get me wrong, key plot points will still happen, but we’re going in some rather interesting directions, since Tom’s by Marco’s side instead of Star. ;)

You folks ever watched Back to the Future 1 and 2, back to back? You know how in 2, we see Marty McFly go back to the 1950′s in order to take back the Sports Almanac from Biff, and we also see new perspectives at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance from Part 1? That’s sorta how this comic will handle certain scenes, going forward.

I’ll promise you one thing: this won’t end with a dimensional merge! (Seriously, when Daron Nefcy was pitching how the show was going to end, did she lowkey consult with Christine Weston Chandler? XD)

Well, that... was one way to end SVTFOE, wasn’t it?

I won’t act like a broken record, since I’ve discussed my mixed emotions with the ending, but on the other hand, I was very sick (literally) last week. X_X 

The long and short of my opinion is that I think the final episode of the series should’ve answered a lot of the more pressing matters (i.e. Marco’s monster arm coming back, or maybe Toffee’s backstory and why he was right about magic, etc.) instead of going “Oh noes, are Star and Marco going to be separated forever?!-JK their dimensions are merged lol.”

I honestly can’t help but feel this wasn’t how the show was supposed to end, but I don’t want to get off-topic here. tl;dr, Seasons 3 and 4 are just crazy-juice-fueled fever dreams that Ponyhead had after binging Bam Ui Pati with a terrible head cold. Maybe if SVTFOE comes back, they can de-canonize the last few episodes and make it a scrapped fanfiction Starfan13 wrote, like how Roseanne discredited season 9. ;)

Anyway, careful what you wish for, Marco. ;)
