Charitable Givings
Giving back to those in need is an important pillar to Tidal River's success. For those who have visited, you'll see that our tip jar proceeds go towards Unicef, to help children in need. So far in the past two weeks your generous contributions have garnered over 250 dollars just from that jar. Thank you very much. Going forward, we will be introducing a "charitable giving tap." For every pint sold (in growler form) we will donate 50 cents towards our fund raising goals. This month, Swamp Wookie will be that tap. Thank you to everyone who's enjoying our brews, together we can use our powers of beer for the greater good!

Softly Successful
Whelp, with the soft opening last night and another good day today, I can say the soft opening was a soft success! Quite the turnout from the community, thank you all so much. Going forward this week, we're going to adjust the schedule a little bit, we will be open Sunday Jan 10th, 12-4 but will have to stay closed on Monday, to make more beer! The demand from the opening was an excellent judge of supplies and the needs going forward. We also sold out of 32 oz growlers, but more are on the way, hopefully this week. I'm blown away by the awesomesauce support from this community and am so excited going forward. New beers on the horizon and great things to come. Thank you all!

...On a happier (hoppier?) note...
The last update I sent out at the beginning of December was a bit of a bummer. I apologize for that, It's been a long, drawn out process and sometimes it wears a bit thin! On a much happier note, I've been getting some really good news from the state liquor board, the light at the end of the tunnel is very near! Rewards for backers are going to be set and we are racing towards opening up very very soon. While the wait continues, we continue to brew beer to make sure we have a good stock for opening day. On tap is our cream ale (swamp wookie) our brown ale, a hopped up pale ale (rattlesnake creek), and a great blonde cappuccino stout (Thickarus: Flew too close to the Tun). Up next this week is a batch of a centennial hopped pale ale and a full batch of the "ABC Rye." Thank you for your continued support and patience, it's really coming together.
This wall in the brewery is because of all of you, and I'm really looking forward to a great 2016!

End of the year, apologies and platitudes and shame follows.
I've had a really hard time posting this update, as evidence by the long and protracted silence. I'll start off by saying how truly sorry I am that Tidal River is not yet open. Going into the summer, it seemed that everything was in place for a quick turn-around and rapid opening, that is clearly not the reality. As it is now December 1st, 2015 is rapidly dwindling, and I still cannot open my doors to the public. The reasons behind these delays are numerous, but now we're mired in the redtape of bureaucracy with the final permits and licenses. For those who are familiar with the permitting process, this is probably not a surprise, for those who aren't, it's quite frustrating to all involved. I am deeply sorry for this unexpected, and unavoidable delay.
On a positive note, the 3BBL brewing system has been active over the past few weeks and we've produced quite a volume of delicious beers in anticipation of that eventual opening timeframe. Kegs have been filled, finishing touches have be laid in the tasting room space, fresh coats of paint have been applied to walls and floors, signs have been hung and we continue to clean clean clean. My ultimate goal is to not have to scrape the "opening 2015" off the door until we actually open, but we'll see what tomorrow brings. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to bringing our beer to the valley soon.
 -Geoff

Light at the end of the tunnel
There's a light at the end of this tunnel, and it seems to be an opening. The primary brew house ventilation and gas system is now completed and installed. I will have some further inspections from the town to get a full go ahead, but it's a very positive outlook. State licensure is underway and hopefully will be completed soon, allowing me to actually sell beer! More to come very soon now, and an opening date to be announced very shortly.

Hail September!
September is here! Thoughts turn to fall, sweaters, raking, oktoberfest..... What's going on with TRBC? Well, August came and went, and with it, we're finally on track to get our ventilation completed, the crew from Energy Vectors out of Granby just started installing that today, so things are progressing.
The amazing artwork for the Tardis bathroom door is now complete, go check out Mary's other awesome works at www.marymattheis.com The rest of the brewery space will be refinished with a fresh coat of paint, new color scheme and generally ship shaped up to meet our humble standards.
Kegs have arrived, fermentors have been tested water (beer!) tight so they are ready to be filled and start making some delicious brews. I recently tried out two three test batches of different recipes that are sure to become great flavors to fill out the growing book of tasty brews. On tap for the coming month, more brewing, this time on the full production system to produce some great beer for opening.
Paperwork for the final leg of red tape is now fully on track for submission putting us dangerously close to actually opening! I am truly grateful for the interest that the community is showing, and the amazing patience everyone has as we journey down this road together. Carpe Cervisiam and keep up the good spirits!
