Happy Pride to my friend @rabbitthewriter ! This is her character Kopi, a four-eared rabbit/dog creature called a cunicanine!! The antlers are not actually part of his character design, but a reference to his magical healing powers, associated in the story with a hart! I always enjoy drawing a rabbit/rabbit-inspired creature, and extra-fun to get to do Kopi!

May all ace-spectrum folks and our fellow queer friends be healed this pride! 💜

I'm having such a hard time making a ref for Baltassar. I want him to be big, imposing, and solemn, and just can't seem to get that across. Out of some frustration yesterday I tried the good ol' Okami route of "give dog sword" and it's certainly not a bad look! Certainly cathartic!

Oh, I don't think I ever even showed this piece on our Fairytale Hearts server, I think I wanted to do more tweaks and then never got around to it. At this point I'm calling it done!

A moment from our Fairytale Hearts campaign; while fighting Grendel, Beau had a fun "cut off the bad guy" moment. I cannot tell you how many times I redid parts of the anatomy, and then the swords, this actually is probably the most purely digital, non-traced-over-a-sketch arts I've done in years! I don't think the pose looks enough like a slide but I do like the way the rest of it came out!

Art Commentary:

On the left, Vandoryth, wolfwere (wolf who can turn into a person), and on the right, Jesper, half-elf werewolf. If you've been looking at the backlog of art you've probably noticed a lot of sheep politics - here are the fiends responsible!

And by fiends I mean a wolf who had a broken jaw, preyed on livestock, and then got turned into a wolfwere when Jesper tried to use magic to help him out.

Jesper apparently hates being drawn, I have a still-unfinished reference image for him and this wound up being the first time the party saw him in art. Oops!

New D&D game, new D&D game!! Our Thrrasir Dungeon Master started a prequel game called Countdown to Cataclysm, to explore the, well, cataclysm, that took down the old society, as a clever way to let us learn about things that happened without our DM having to do a lot of lore drops and to learn things that wouldn't have survived into the modern day!

This is my character Haywire, an evocation wizard and rogue specializing in weather magic! Her goal is to break through the glass ceiling of who's allowed to work on the powerful airships, or at least it was before the floating city of royalty was crashed into another city <3

Haywire is based on the thick-billed raven, whose beaks are super cool but definitely a learning process to draw!

My 2023 Christmas gift for my D&D party! I like doing a theme for their Christmas art so this year was ornaments! I based them on those angel ornaments you put over a light bulb to make them glow from within, but uh, modified that specific setup for obvious reasons!

From left to right:

Adelaide - @shinkoscribbles' aasimar from their Fairytale Hearts D&D campaign; she's been cursed to play the "Beauty" in "Beauty in the Beast" until very recently (and despite her smile here, isn't very happy about it!)

Dahlia - @ginzloveslife's halfling cleric from my Temphere D&D campaign, a sweet librarian who will kick your ass with a mace if need be <3

Peter - @rabbitthewriter's triton bard, also from Fairytale Hearts. He was cursed to be the Pied Piper of the eponymous fairytale until very recently (he is also smiling despite being very unhappy with that fact!)

Mariang - Riel doesn't have a tumblr, but this is his kalashtar druid from Fairytale Hearts, based on the character of the same name from Filipino folktales. She's much less upset about her situation than the other FH folks!

Tandy - @aftokrator-official's gnome warlock Tandy from the Thrassir D&D campaign, a little scamp who enjoys blowing things up and is definitely safe for Christmas trees! ^^

My 2023 Christmas gift for my friend @shinkoscribbles! (don't worry, I did give it to them on that Christmas!) These are some little scenes of some of their favorite characters from the year - their sea elf Cyril, undergoing his redemption arc with our D&D party; their superhero Eyescream Man/Ilia enjoying some Christmas decorating; charming and funny elf with albinism and no time to worry about fiddly things like gender, Tielo; and Mochi, a moon rabbit from Naelus who is extremely fun to draw and who I wish I could pet!!

We had a very cool scene in our Thrrasir D&D campaign - to get the aid of mercenaries, we had to have one of our party prove our battle prowess in a fight. My friend @ginzloveslife 's arcane trickster rogue Alyx is our best close-range fighter, and did an awesome job, including landing a move that zipped her behind her opponent to draw first blood, the moment pictured here! (...in hindsight, perhaps I should have drawn blood, but oh well!)

My D&D campaign took an unexpected turn into Sheep Politics (to help out a wolf who accidentally got turned into a were-person, you know how it is), and I decided my players should get to see the sheep in question! Also the overaggressive guard dog Anvil, who the ranger talked into being less of a nuisance!

The golden sheep, Sunspangled, is entirely fictional - I wanted to give it a bit of an unusual vibe as an elven sheep breed. The other critters, however, are all at least semi-based on real animals; from left-to right, top to bottom, excluding the Sunspangled sheep: Caucasian Shepherd Dog, Babydoll Sheep, Cotswold sheep, and Rambouillet sheep.

Was this entirely too much detail to put into the D&D campaign? No, sheep are cute, next question!

I have some new Subeta pets - semi-godly beings representing various aspects of change! Baltassar is the Darkmatter Tigrean, Jasper is the Angelic Jollin, and Melchior is the Glade Bhakoru. I think the art/meme references summarize their personalities, don't know what more I can say! (I will say more when I eventually complete and post references)

Iporr

The party has arrived in the city of Sedgely, where they will be defending their wolfwere (that is, a wolf who turns into a man) friend from allegations of preying on sheep as a werewolf, and also defending the werewolf who accidentally did the wolfwere-ing. Life in Dungeons and Dragons is complicated.

Iporr is a royal adjucator, sent by the king to ensure that the trial goes fairly and the small, sheep-reliant town doesn't resort to any sort of mob justice or at least, mob opinion, and that the monster-hunters who caught him don't cause trouble, either. He's a tree sparrow aarakocra-kenku hybrid I've called a passerai, a cleric of the deity of justice, and extremely no-nonsense toward monster-hunters, civilians, and adventurers alike.
