“Well now. That couldn’t have felt good at all,” he answers, letting out a whistle.
“While you’re sure you didn’t break anything, why don’t you take your boot off and let me take a look at it, hm? I may not be a medic, but I think I’ll be able to definitively settle the matter for you.”

In fact, if people knew who he really was (he’s still convinced no one does - they’ve likely all figured it out by now), then they would certainly be more careful around his tools. He reaches up and takes the wrench back, nodding his head in place of a thanks. He can’t bring himself to utter the word. “One day, you might kick something of someone’s a little less forgiving.”
“Yes, I suppose you may be right,” he returns quite easily, apparently unbothered by the lack of thanks or by his tone. In fact, where Matt struggles, Auros does not.
“I appreciate the advice. Perhaps it will keep me from trouble, though I doubt it. If I don’t find it in one place, I find it in another. Or, sometimes, it finds me.”
A chuckle.
“If you’re not terribly busy, why don’t you allow me to buy you lunch from one of the vendors in recompense?”

Close, but nowhere near the perfection of his little beauty. “They can take a lot more mods than the manufacturers would have you believe, those ol’ YT’s. The Falcon’s more mod than original parts these days. Smuggling, WAR, makes you prepare for all kinds of crazy nonsense y'wouldn’t think to under NORMAL circumstances.”
“Can they now?” he questions as his smile broadens all the more.
That certainly piqued his interest. More modifications he could make? Additional improvements to his ship? Absolutely.
“What sorts of modifications might you suggest? It’s so difficult to find someone who knows much about YT models these days, let alone about that sort of work. I’d be happy for an experienced opinion, if you wouldn’t mind.”

He hadn’t been expecting anyone else to board the ship while it was docked so that they could do maintenance before continuing to their next destination. Thankfully, they’d been down in one of the maintenance ducts when the footsteps had begun to be heard echoing and that had meant simply replacing the grating overhead and then moving through a hidden panel into the hold.
In the darkness of the smuggler’s hold, he nods once, one hand tightening on the grip of the blaster, the other hand rising to hold up two fingers for her to see.
“… Two someones at least,” he whispers in turn. “… Though I’ve not the slightest idea who. I’ve not had a good look at them yet.”

After so many years worth of reactions to the old girl, this one caught him by surprise. So many times he were stuck enduring countless criticisms until the idiots making them stepped on board to see what she could really do. So many morons he’d proved wrong.
It was a rare thing to get the old smuggler to smile, but this man didn’t possess the usual judgement the Falcon met. Lips curled slowly, a lopsided grin bestowed upon the stranger.
“There ain’t another ship like this in the whole galaxy.” Han answered, pride clear in his tone, “What you flying, pal? Something special?”
“If any pilot tells you that his ship isn’t something special, then my next question to them would have to be why they even bother with it?” he says though he shakes his head and chuckles.
“But mine, ah, I suppose you might say that she’s a distant relative to the Falcon. She’s a modified YT-2400. It took some time but I upgraded her to a Class 1 hyperdrive, and after doing some tweaks and a few replacements, she’ll do well above the 800 kph standard release for her model.”
Is he proud of his girl, too? Only a lot.
