Some further developments we have learned over the past couple of days is that they are in the process of booking our flights. On hearing this news it made me realise I hadn't really looked into flight length for the trip and turns out it is about 12 hours. So we had to add a pillow to my kit list and I don't even know if I will be able to sleep on an airplane because the last time I went on a long flight I was 3 years old.

Today my asdan resources got sent through so know I can start my assessment part of the course. It has been a long time since I have been on with all the different lockdowns I have found it difficult to organise any fundraisers and the local companies I could have reached out to in a usual situation are obviously struggling financially in the current situation.

Drafting my letter

Had a bit of a boring job today but it was fun when i saw the results of my writing basically I was thinking back yesterday to my first information meeting with my group and i remembered them talking about being sponsored by a business. So sure enough when i looked back through my notes i wrote something down and the gist of it was that a said company would pay so much to have their logo printed on my t-shirt which i would then wear when fundraising and working in/visiting Cambodia. The draft for my email was written in word and took around 3 hours so hopefully when i send the emails out in a couple of days i will get a few positive replies also i realised today how quick this week has gone and then i will be back at school. then i won’t have half as much time as i have over the past 10 days. So it really is full throttle for the next 2-3 days.

Some of the Ideas

Thought I would share some of my latest ideas note that these are not confirmed yet just thought you would like to know. So here they are during the half term in October i am going on holiday in Pembrokeshire and there is a large bay there called St Brides Bay which is on average about 28 miles along the beautiful coast paths which me and my mum think we could complete in 2 days and it is very good in the current climate as there is no risk of spreading Covid. Secondly one of my ideas that has again come back to me was a bring and buy with people from my village however i just have to figure out how to make that safe for everyone who would like to come. Another one of my ideas was a sponsored swim where say for each pound someone gives me i will do 2 lengths of my local pool but again during Covid they decided to do some renovations which are taking longer than they thought so i do not know when it will reopen. I have also got back into sewing over my break from school so I was also thinking about making stuff and selling it online for example felt phone cases etc but i am not sure whether to sell it on another platform or not.

Welcome

After the update this week the trip has been confirmed to go ahead as of know so I am getting back to fundraising it was amazing to learn i could still go after the uncertainty during lock down so the drawing board is back out and know it is all about getting my ideas organised and ready for the following months. With more spare time over lock down I spent a lot more time researching and learning not only about Cambodia  as a country on its own but also the people in it and how their lives differ so much from our own. So if you want to stick with me on this journey where i will be posting updates on this amazing journey.
