This is like 3 months old but I love everything about this - the shoes, the pants and the turtle neck. The only thing that is from older design are the glasses that way back when used to be blue in whole, not just tinted glass blue.

I am gonna slow down a bit now with better quality drawings. Anyway character clothing should be next

Probably many people would rather see Larry doing yoga or ballet but not me. From those 2 tiny sequences in Day of the Larrys where he just skates by Buck in 80s shorts I just knew this would be this AU Larry. Yeah sure he does yoga for flexibility but roller-skating is what really keeps him in shape and you can be sure as shit Buck is just mesmerized And I'm 100% sure Larry would be the King/Queen of the Roller Disco 👀

Also I'm in love with Moxie Girls that can do a lot on 4 wheels JUST WATCH, please

Hi there!

This will serve as a guide of sorts for this AU of Time Squad I made in 2017 in the middle of the night after a long bender of youtube videos.

Some of you might know me, some of you don't, but this place is my secondary blog dedicated entirely to my AU. I know, I know you have some burning question you’re dying to ask me

“What the hell is time squad?!”

Hi, hello and welcome. I’m not sure how you found an AU blog to a 2001 Cartoon Network cartoon called Time Squad but please watch the show! It’s great, hilarious, voiced by amazing actors and really it shaped a huge part of my sense of humor. Plus it’s geeeeeeeey - no it really is, the authors said so. No idea how they got a show about a man and a robot adopting a child on tv in 2001. It’s a mystery

“AU? What AU? How is this an AU?!?!?!?”

Well other than the usual humanization of the robot there are a few, tiny little things... Imagine a modern world where Buck, Larry and Otto live in New York, have jobs/school and live their normal lives. Oh and the "adults" also got past most of their differences (not all mind you, they are not perfect) and instead of being obtuse they decided to get married.

“What do you mean married???”

Like hear me out… Like listen… Like... Imagine they are not constantly butting heads but are in a happy and healthy relationship, still stupidly in love with each other AND raising a kid together and maybe someone else down the line *wink-wonk*.

They support each other, they trust each other, they talk to one another, they know their quirks and triggers. Yes they do fight, because they care but mostly they just have a life together. God I want to draw them on so many dates and have so many stupid interactions I want them as sappy as possible

“What about Otto?”

And for baby Otto - never assume he is an afterthought. This AU was actually created for him. Just so can have a great fucking childhood with loving parents, good schools, friends, toys, ice-cream, bikes, sunglasses, baseball with dad, dancing with dad, playing video games with dad and that shit ;n; I want him to be a happy child, that can express himself, feel free and loved. He deserves so much

And yes I am going with the “Annie” approach the authors suggested. You just need to suffer through a bit of angst and then Abracadabra! They will be a happy family!

“What about the others?”

For now I’m not sure about the main "villains" because I still can’t place JT and Lance.

For other characters that appeared in the show I know how to include Sheila, XJ5 and Sister Thornly but I also want to include Alan Poe, Leonardo DaVinci, Ivan the Terrible among the others. I have some ideas and they will have their looks from the show but the names might be ya know like a “Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental” disclaimer way... Like yeah I have the same name as the historic person but it's just a coincidence

“Boogie why New York?”

Honestly I don’t know. It’s a big city? Blame spiderman? Or any movie in my youth I was fed through a tv screen that this city is somehow magical. I don’t know it just fits and I kinda figured Otto could come from a metropolitan orphanage and I guess Annie adds to that too.

“Can we send asks?”

This is a small ficlet I wrote (HAHAHA) some time ago. It’s a that Time Squad hipster AU I have and nurse only in my head. I hope you enjoy my mangling of English in a version of sappy ass shit Keep in mind I have Otto here as almost 6 years old, because I wanted them to adopt him a bit earlier then in the show so by the time he’s 8 they are fully in family mode.

Anyway enjoy

Larry was stirred awake somewhere around dawn. He knew only thanks to the delicate, pink light seeping through closed curtains. There was a brief moment of cold as the covers were lifted but it was immediately replaced by a warm wall of muscles. One big hand draped itself on his waist protectively. Larry sighed and turned his head slightly to see his husband behind his back, never letting Otto out of his arms.

‘No noo-’ Buck hushed ‘I didn’t mean to wake you up. Go back to sleep’ his face buried in Larry’s neck.

‘What time is it?’ he asked with a raspy voice, barely out of sleep.

‘Somewhere around 5-ish’ Buck murmured, snuggling closer

‘Well you’re home early...’ Larry mused sleepily, closing his eyes again.

‘Rough night’ came as an answer. Larry only hummed in agreement. 

After that there was a pleasant, drowsy silence between them, with small, soft sounds of Otto’s sleeping, almost swallowing the man back to sleep. Not moment too soon, because it was interrupted by a quiet question

‘Why is Otto here?’ Larry sighed and smiled bitterly to himself, not breaking his eyes. How do you even begin to explain another nightmare night? So instead he just settled for ‘Rough night’. 

‘Mhmm…’ He felt Buck’s murmur against his neck, but there was something more the man wanted to say. Slight bit of tension rose between them.

‘Look Larr’ The bigger man exhaled ‘I’m sorry... I didn’t mean all those things I’ve said... I mean you’re a great dad… It’s just…’ Buck whispered hurriedly, tightening his grip on Larry’s hip. ‘I’m sorry...’ 

Well now, this is rare...

His giant man-child of a husband saying sorry? Not prompted and only after a few hours? On his own? Maybe he really could be mature?

Aaaaand just like that Larry ruined it. He kicked himself mentally for that, it’s not like he was any better…

They both should just grow the fuck up...

‘I know... ‘ He turned himself a bit to better look Buck in the eyes. Why does he always have to have the biggest and saddest eyes when he knows he did something wrong? ‘It’s not like I’m with no blame here... I’m sorry too…’ He hoped his smile wasn’t too sad, maybe just tired. At that Buck gave him one of his own.

Maybe they could be mature?

‘I love you’ Larry whispered as Buck shuffled a bit closer ‘And I love you’ Buck murmured against Larry’s lips as he kissed him sweetly. It usually ends like this. Their fights might be fierce sometimes but the apologies were always sweet. Or sweeter at least...

They shared a smile and snuggled close to each other. To think of how this day started with a stupid fight, over a stupid thing with his stupid, giant man-baby followed by a series of mishaps to end in this - a blissful peace.

And in that moment Larry felt it.

After almost a year of endless struggling and nervousness in their life - filled with adoption papers, post-accidental drama, work and health problems, a lot of arguing and even more tears, with decisions the both hoped never to regret - he felt it.

Peace. Happiness. Contentment.

This is what he was missing, the thing that only was beginning to understand just a few days ago. He knew that there was something different but he just couldn’t put his finger on it. Larry would notice how his husband’s shoulders relaxed over the last few weeks, how his sleep got a bit more even and not so restless anymore. He noticed how Otto would come find him instead the other way around. That’s the thing, Larry did notice but didn’t know what that is...

Now with his family right by his side, he finally knew. There was nothing in the world that could spoil this. Not even the dirty laundry left behind, piles of dishes, that stupid argument about Buck’s work and Otto’s counseling issues. Larry felt happy with his husband and their boy safe and sound, all of his happiness contained in the proximity of one bed.

Larry would not change a damn thing about his life. As he thought of this he let himself drift back to sleep.
