Chapter 1 and Prologue
So this is my rough rough ROUGH draft for the first chapter and prologue. It is still highly subject to change, because I read over it I will most likely edit lots of things. Constructive criticism is welcomed, and if you have any knowledge on traditional Chinese culture and find something blatantly false, please tell me. Thanks and happy reading. :)
Take this… Find the pieces…Take this.
Find the pieces.
“What pieces?!” A feminine voices shrieked. “Tell me what you mean!
Find the pieces.
A strangled sob ripped the air and a figure with wine red locks collapsed onto the dirt.

Jizu-
Jizu is 18 years old (after much debate with myself), but has the personality of a 12 year old. He is playful, active, kind, and gullible, but don't let that fool you. Jizu may have the appearance and attitude of one who is innocent, but beneath the facade is a young man hungry for affection. Every once in a while, he lets slip a joke or comment that sends those around him reeling with confusion due to their assumption that oblivious playfulness equates to innocence. Jizu can be clingy and is very gullible, as well as being highly emotional despite his society's value of refined attitudes. Because of these emotions, I try to exaggerate Jizu's expressions and body language. Jizu is by far my favorite to draw simply because of his wide array of expressions. He is also an inquisitive individual, so he often has a slightly confused look on his face where he pinches his mouth together in a small, crooked line. Jizu never gets old in my book.

I wasn't planning on reblogging very many things, but this seems very relevant as Time Keepers will include a dystopian society.
I was visiting my parents house after a few grueling midterms back in 2008 when I first picked up The Hunger Games. My mother, an avid reader, had just finished it and was preparing to take it back to the library. She began to talk about the plot a bit and, intrigued, I picked it up. The next...

Here’s an early sketch of Ellery, I am very fond of her coat and I like this version better than the one that ended up in the comic. However, it's low quality.

Ellery-
Age 19 (after much deliberation and several re-writes), Ellery tries to act older than her age and seems serious and intense at first glance. She will not hesitate to stand up for what is right, however, so she is not who I would characterize as quiet. She is the primary protagonist, and a natural leader. Her eyes are naturally purple, but this is because her ancestors received a gene splicing to give her purple eyes, which was common at the time. I like to throw in things involving the time period that she is from, and I figured that I might as well make it part of her character. Her hair didn’t begin as red as it is now, but when I was coloring her the very first time I was listening to “Wine Red” by the Hush Sound and I suppose I subconsciously made her hair wine red.

The Big News
(Copied from the Timery blog)
Hey!
So I’ve made a pretty big decision for Timery and wanted to make it known for the people out there who do read it and enjoy it. I have been grappling with between my different passions; art, history, and writing; which have been very difficult to balance for a while, especially with Timery because as much as I enjoy putting it in comic form, I also love writing it. Because of this, I’ve decided that I am going to take the oppurtunity found in the age of e-books that we live in and create a new way of experiencing stories. My original idea of Timery will be morphed into Time Keepers, a story that marries writing and the type of vivid illustrations that we see on the internet. Including gifs, which are bursting in popularity.
Because of this decision, the webcomic Timery will be on perminant hiatus.
But don’t let that be the cause to lose your interest! Please feel free to spread the word when you see Time Keepers on the shelves! I’ve also made a tumblr exclusively for people to see doodles, character sketches, any sort of juicy background things, so feel free to peruse around DoodleKAT.
Thank you!
