The Black Swan Shoot X The Miracle Project
One of my favorite shoots with The Miracle Project was the time they turned me into a Black Swan. I super got "aliw", especially with my headpiece which Pael made and carefully glued on my forehead. The whole experience was exhilarating, tricky yet fun and "very dark" indeed (Lol). Looking back, it still gives me honor to have worked with such very talented and beyond creative people.  I'm truly grateful to be a part of The Miracle Project .

The "K" Dining Experience on Malingap St.
If you enjoy Korean food and you’re on a limited budget, Don-Day restaurant is the perfect place to dine in.   A month ago Bon chon’s Chap Chae renewed my craving for Korean food. Simply hearing or seeing a Korean dish excites my taste buds just like the sensation of a stubborn sweet tooth would drive you nuts until you can get a bite of that chocolate bar or gummy treat!
Two weeks ago, Polo and I decided to end a stressful workweek with a dinner date by trying out something new, off-mainstream.   After what I heard from my brother about Don-day, I did some research on it and it seemed to be the perfect choice. It was very accessible for us. Just right in the vicinity of one of Quezon City’s residential areas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
True to the reviews I read, this modest Korean restaurant on Malingap St. in Teachers village met my expectations.  Clean and with ample parking spaces.  Their al fresco area provided a homey ambiance.  Their two choices for buffet gave customers who prefer not to eat Samgyeopsal( Korean pork) an option to spend lesser ( Samgyeopsal buffet at Php 299 include platters of pork for grilling  and Don-day buffet at P199 without the pork). Bottomless iced tea at P50 was an added treat.
It is indeed affordable and cheaper compared to other buffet dining but the food  were delicious. They have a wide array of leafy vegetables and hot meals to choose from. The Samgyeopsal/Korean Bbq for grilling were served straight from the kitchen which made them fresher compared to the sliced raw meat stacked on buffet tables in other restaurants at more than twice their price. The chap chae was another standout. Its thick glass noodles were bathed in lovely well seasoned sauce and vegetables. If I remember correctly, I even had three servings of it. Finally, their Kimchi which had a perfect blend of sweet and spicy was addicting. It was a marvelous and exciting appetizer that made me eat all the more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A yummy, healthy and fun dinner date it was at Don-day. A fine and homey place to dine in with your family, friends and even your special someone. I'm definitely going back there again and again.
     Annyonghi jumushipsiyo (Good night)!:)

Ready, Set, Cotton On!
The big question “I am cotton on, are you?” has been going around making a fashion buzz for quite some time now and has definitely got everyone on their toes, craving and excited for its grand launch. You saw it at Bonifacio High street, SM Megamall, SM MOA, on the billboards, newspapers, etc. Now, let me tell you in full force with high spirits that the long wait for this very trendy and youthful brand has come to an end. Yes, Cotton On is now in the Philippines!
Tumblr media
Last September 6, 2012 Cotton On finally opened its first doors at SM Mall of Asia. Its grand launch started off with a college themed fashion show featuring Cotton On’s fun and fresh line of clothes and ended with a highly excellent performance by the L.A. dancers who were flown in to make the fashion show as hot as possible. Afterwards, there was a private party/opening in the store for the first lucky batch of SM MOA’s Cotton On clients to enjoy.

  (All photos c/o StyleBible.Ph )
The Cotton On Australian ambassador, Mr. Ben Chan and the VP of SM was present for the ribbon cutting. There were also a lot of celebrities spotted at the event, namely, Raymond Guttierez who was the host for that night, fashion bloggers Camille Co and Laureen Uy, Rep. Lucy Torres, Councilor Shallani, Karylle, Isabelle Daza and many more.  These stars have certainly added to the spectacle of the opening.
Tumblr media
On a side note, I’m very happy and grateful to take part in its grand opening. I even had the privilege to walk on the runway wearing Cotton On’s awesome pieces and have met new friends along the way.  It was simply wonderful and unexpected on my part. Also, congratulations to Saga events for making the event successful.
Tumblr media
Now that Cotton On is open and easily available anytime, I cannot wait to visit the store again and shop my heart out. It’s really a huge delight to see my “must see” store in Hongkong and Singapore now located in manila. It is finally just a stone’s throw away! How exciting is that, right? Visit the store now and you’ll definitely find a lot of good pieces with friendly price tags that you can mix and match, ideal for the youth who wants to look chic day and night.
Lastly, my answer to Cotton On’s question is this… Yes, I am.;)
  Happy Shopping Everyone!

Charm Me: New Makeup Brushes
Makeup brushes are not cheap, most especially the good kinds that have soft bristles and can magically apply makeup like breeze.  I deem we’re not necessarily required to have all of them to achieve a perfect look. We just need to find the ideal brushes that best fit our styles.
Tumblr media
An ordinary girl like me who is not obliged to put on heavy and artistic makeup has a very simple makeup routine. I would regularly use sun block, concealer, lip balm and finishing powder. Then I’m done and good to go. I never really thought of investing on brushes because I only needed two and usually, the products I buy always came with a brush- powder brush, and blush brush. Then I would just use the tips of my fingers for the liquids (sun block, and concealer.) However, I recently purchased my very first brush set and I’m immensely happy with it. The Charm Pocket Brush set is perfect for any newbie makeup enthusiast like me. It’s not too ambitious for my skills and at the same time it’s very useful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The brush set includes 5 basic brushes that have dual functions: an eyeshadow brush (I use it for concealing), blush/powder brush, angled eyeliner brush, lip brush and brow comb. The fiercely pink camouflage pouch that came with the set is very sleek and posh which I really I liked.
Good news for all the practical buyers because you can get this set for only 500 pesos. Indeed, the price is very manageable. You can buy it online or at Crossings, Trinoma where I bought mine. It’s not too pricey for a good start and it has a good quality. The brushes have soft synthetic bristles, and easy grip handles. They don’t shed or bleed. They’re very gentle on the skin too. Lastly, the slim pink pouch is a winner.  Good deal, right?
Tumblr media
The charm brushes served its purpose quite outstandingly for its price. I’m even thinking of buying more in the future to use as gifts for my friends. I’m sure they’ll love it too.
It was a good buy and it definitely charmed me.hihi;)
P.S. I’m looking for a foundation brush. Any suggestions?

Asian Cruise September 2011
Finally taking this chance to make a blog post of my awesome vacation last September 2011… As we say, it’s better late than never.
It was my first time to go on a Cruise. I was with my parents and Polo. Basically, my expectations for that trip came from two movies – Titanic and All My life (Filipino movie). Luckily, my first cruise was able to meet my expectations and I'm forever thankful to my parents for giving me that one of a kind adventure. On a side note, seeing and meeting our fellow Filipinos who were working as crews on the ship made that trip more interesting and homey.  It was also heart-warming to know that Filipinos are doing an outstanding job abroad; many of them  holding key positions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moment I saw the Ship that will be taking us on a cruise,  I felt more than excited.  It gave me goose bumps but the good kind. The ship was humungous. There were 11 dining places, casinos, a mall, 2 outdoor swimming pools, movie house, gym, Track oval, library/writing room, game room, spa, salon, lounges, jumbo chess board and many more. It’s a floating structure with excellent amenities for all its passengers. There were also arranged tours for those who wanted to take a tour of the countries where it stopped. On the other hand, those who preferred to stay on the ship, were offered activities like games, lessons (e.g. cooking, dance, table making and exercises) for free.
The coolest thing about the cruise was the “Card” given to all the passengers. It’s like a “spend all you want” credit card because everything on the cruise was already paid for (e.g. Food, movies, etc.) except for the items that had price tags. Another show stopper besides the musical shows and Russian performers on-board were the mouth watering and delicious eat-all you-can food. There was an international buffet area, a Chinese restaurant, Indian Restaurant, fine dining area, etc.  It was also wonderful to have  fresh air, sea breeze day and night  the whole time and the lovely sunrise and sunsets  to behold were memorable.
Our four-day Asian cruise trip included Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia; each country having wonderful cultures that were uniquely their own.  Seeing their stunning temples and buildings that reflected their rich culture was simply amazing.  We also had the pleasure to taste their delicacies and to have met nice locals in each country who were generous to educate and share with us their knowledge about their country and people. Indeed, To travel is the most fun and  best form of education. I will tell you more about the other countries in a separate blog post. For now, let me share with you some photos of the Cruise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are our first few pictures on the ship at the deck. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of photos together because we were each other’s photographer. We still had fun though. Good thing we both brought our own camera so it was less hassle for us.
Tumblr media
The Deck early in the morning. This was the place where we would always chill and watch the endless view of the sea. It’s also a good spot to take a short nap. But you'll have to wear shades and bring something to cover yourself because it gets chilly sometimes.
Tumblr media
Star Virgo Cruise’s library. Passengers can borrow books, magazines, surf the internet and even write there. It’s one of my favourite places on the ship but never really got to use it much.
Tumblr media
(L-R: My mom, dad and polo)
The game room where we played a lot of board games was just beside the library. As you can see in this photo, the game was almost done and everyone was excited and nervous for my mom.Haha! Jenga was definitely our favorite game that trip.
Tumblr media
The adult swimming pool which had a big slide that is not seen in the photo and a Jacuzzi in all four corners of the pool.
Tumblr media
The ship’s interior that can surpass a 5 star hotel or mall would sometimes make us forget that we were inside a ship.
Moving on, below were some of the delicious food that really made me gain weight during the trip. No regrets though. Bon appetit!:)

Gala Night - Dinner with the Captain.
Overall, our cruise experience was generous in surprising us with all kinds of fun, adventures and excitement. I'm hoping for another trip very soon.
   Happy Sailing!

NEW FINDS from BARENATURALS
Staying beautiful seems to be ever present in any girls’ checklist. It’s like the undying fad for some girls. They don’t explicitly broadcast it but it will always convey in their actions and twinkling eyes whenever they see clothes, beauty products, etc. In line with this, I also noticed how girls nowadays are persistent in searching for the best skin care/product that will truly enhance their natural beauty. Remarkable and tested products are indeed good investments, although these beauty treasures are hard to find. And I think I just acquired the passion for searching these clandestine beauty treasures recently.
These past few days, I have been stumbling on interesting and informative blogs, specifically blogs of beauty and makeup gurus. I don’t know how it exactly happened but I’m glad it did. Afterwards, I noticed how all my tabs are on their blogs, which was a big surprise to me because beauty products were never appealing to me. I would normally buy what my mom buys and from there I experiment. Luckily, my mom buys excellent products for sensitive skin and we have the same skin color and skin type so it saved me from damaging my skin and helped me achieve the natural look my mom and I always go for. I believe there’s no reason to hide one’s beauty that’s why I always make sure I can still recognize myself after putting some makeup.
My perception of makeup changed after watching makeup tutorials and reading various reviews on soaps, moisturizers, foundations, lip balms, makeup brushes and the like. SERIOUSLY! I think had a divine “makeup/beauty products” intervention few weeks ago. I got fascinated on how makeup can drastically change a look. I also got information on how to keep my skin healthy and fresh. The tips I gathered will definitely help me. Crossing paths with some beauty blogs was perfect timing.
Anyway, the ultimate reason why I’m blogging right now is because I want to share a new discovery, all thanks to all the good reviews on the web. Honestly, it’s my first time to hear about BARENATURALS. They are a skin care line that makes use of natural ingredients. If you will ask me it’s a one stop make-up store.
I got 3 products – EMU primer, no break-out to makeup soap and finishing powder.  My package even came with 3 freebies (two (2) blush ons and One (1) Apricot soap) which I thought was so cool! It’s my first time to get freebies from an online store so that’s a big plus for them.
Tumblr media
    1)      SKIN PERFECTING Primer
My reason for buying:
I bought this one because I realized that I’ve never had my own primer ever. Also, I just discovered that its functions are to prepare the face for a better application of makeup, to keep the face matte and to keep the makeup last longer (cool). Although, Boohoo! I got the memo late.
  Likes:
It has a gentle sweet scent
It makes my skin smooth and silky. Once it dries, it’ll be easier to put on makeup
It’s not sticky and too watery.
IT WORKS! I noticed that my makeup doesn’t slide off easily and everything else is in place.
Its container is very handy
  Dislikes:
None.
  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Tumblr media
      2)      No Break-Out to Makeup Soap
My reason for buying:
Initially, I thought the name of the soap was too catchy to be unnoticed. “No Break-Out to Makeup” is what I think EVERYONE using makeup is looking for. One of the good marketing strategies starts with packaging and I believe this soap’s packaging deserves a golden star. You’ll instantly know its purpose in the name itself and you’ll want to get your hands on it asap. Also I got this out of curiosity with a lot of convincing from its good reviews.
  Likes:
I love the scent. I can smell all the natural ingredients when I use it.
It can easily remove makeup
Leaves my skin smooth and soft
The shape will make sure that it wont slide off in your hands easily  and it reminds me of a lego.Haha
  Dislikes:
Sometimes it makes some parts of my skin dry. Take note, sometimes.
  GOOD SOAP
Tumblr media
    3)     Mineral Setting Powder (Spotlight)
My reason for buying:
I got this because I have read a lot of good reviews and also just out of curiosity.
  Likes:
·         It gives off a nice finishing glow and flawless finish.
·         Good for retouching
·         Its container is very handy and won’t take much space in your bag
·         Not too expensive. Hence, it’s a good alternative for my Clinique powder. Especially when I’m feeling thrifty.
  Dislikes:
None
  GOOD FINISHING POWDER
I’m so happy I was able to find these beauty treasures. Not only are they reasonably affordable but the results are priceless. I gotta say my first experience as Barenaturals’ client was a thrill. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products. Trust me, their products are worth your money.
HAPPY LONG WEEKENED!:)
