Is Titanic a Graveyard?

Why do some consider the Titanic a graveyard, but are OK with displaying the bones of Egyptian Mummies (and we know their names!) or recovering items in other shipwrecks? There are no bodies left on the Titanic (did you know that the bottom of the ocean that deep is calcium deficient and the bones of the victims just...dissolved?).

Do you think it's considered a graveyard because it's recent history, with photographs of the victims lost and video of victims saved, and it personalizes the tragedy and brings the disaster to life?

To salvage or not to salvage?

Are you for salvaging items from the ship -- everything from historically important items like the Marconi system to personal keepsakes from staterooms -- or are you for leaving the ship as-is?

Navy intelligence pinpointed the sound of an implosion or explosion to the Titanic wreck. I know the Coast Guard had a procedure to follow, but I feel like it shouldn't apply 12,500 feet down when other, more qualified intelligence is telling you otherwise -- especially when it prolongs the suffering of families.

The Titan should not have carried passengers... The Titanic did not have enough lifeboats. The parallels in the two disasters are strong.

Do you think the Titan Disaster will change maritime law like the Titanic disaster did?

Was like “oh, bummer, they don’t seem to be active anymore” when I was scrolling through your blog (because I’m in the app and it said something like “1500 days ago!”) and then I saw you posted in may and honestly? If I can get just one titanic post on my dash a year I’m here for it 🥺👉👈 it was one of my special interests as a kid and the story (both the real story and the movie) mean a lot to me. I’m not here to tell you to post more often, or anything!! That’s really not why I’m writing this!! I just really wanted to say thank you,,,

You're so sweet!! I'm really sporadic about posting, but the Titanic is literally part of my everyday life! I have a Titanic tattoo, maybe I'll make a post about it and see if anyone else has one as well?
