TOS Characters' Reactions to a D&D Type world
Kirk: Has way too much fun with it. Doing his best to complete the mission, but he keeps getting distracted by all the new and strange things to do.
Spock: Didn't want to go, but since he's here he commits to the bit. He goes full mysterious wizard with it. This affectation is only broken when Kirk insists on dragging him away from his Mysterious Brooding™️.
McCoy: Miserable, trying his hardest to blend in. Fails when he employs his medical skills, becoming something of a miracle worker, much to his chagrin.
Uhura: Having a delightful time. The locals are under the impression she is royalty just because of how she carries herself. She does absolutely nothing to dissuade this.
Scotty: Doing his best, but keeps accidentally referencing things that don't exist, and then awkwardly having to explain away his mistakes. He doesn't have much to say for the planet, except that the taverns are a blast.
Chekov: Gets in trouble with the town guard when he forgets that the laws are vastly different from his time. Kirk has to bail him out of jail.
Sulu: Also has way too much fun with it. His swordsmanship skills are definitely put to the test, and he comes out victorious.

Star Trek TOS Characters Playing D&D:
Kirk: Nominates himself as leader of the party. Plays a simple human fighter, but his backstory is so in depth and gripping that he makes it work. Secretly enjoys Chekov and Sulu's shenanigans.
Spock: DMs their first campaign, but Spock goes hardcore by the rules and everyone dies like three times. He gets politely excused from his position and proceeds to play the most badass wizard character DnD has ever seen. Gets surprisingly into it.
Bones: Also gets surprisingly into it. Plays a perpetually tired and angry cleric which is basically him just zapped into a fantasy universe.
Uhura: Either the calmest person at the table or the worst instigator at any given moment. Plays a badass druid and has to save the party so many times. Loves watching the shenanigans.
Sulu: Plays a bard. Is NOT innocent of shenanigans
Chekov: Plays a rogue. Gets the party TPK'd at least once. Causes over 80% of all shenanigans
Scotty: Enjoys homebrewing new classes and/or races for his character. Always plays some flavor of artificer. Takes over DMing after Spock is removed from the position. His worldbuilding is INSANE.

TOS Characters as Oddly Specific College Students
Kirk: Frat bro who approaches you when you're sitting alone in the corner at a party, and at first you think he's going to be a dick, but then he actually shows concern?? for your well-being??? and you later find out he's in like 15 volunteering clubs and it makes a little bit more sense.
Spock: That one kind of bitchy TA who's working on his post doc and doesn't have time for you to not understand Stoichiometry, he's got real problems.
McCoy: The equally bitchy lab assistant who's got beef with the TA for some reason, even though you've seen them willingly hanging out around campus.
Scotty: That one guy in your dorm who jerry rigs two mini fridges and a microwave together to charge his homemade laptop. At least he hasn't burnt anything down yet.
Uhura: Impeccable girl with flawless notes and A-game outfits EVERY class, which is especially confusing because you're pretty sure she's a computer science linguistics double major?? hello??? does she sleep??
Chekov: That one guy who always kind of fucks around, and one day he accidentally sets off the fire alarm and evacuates his whole dorm, and he feels really bad about it.
Sulu: That one gay guy in the second row of your lecture with outfit goals and such a wicked sense of humor that makes you actually want to come to class.

TNG Characters as Oddly Specific College Students
Picard: Exhausted master's student who just wants a break so he can run his historical LARP club.
Riker: The frat boy who looks like a bit of a douche when you meet him but carries everyone back to the dorm with ibuprofen and water.
Troi: Psychology TA who's probably not using you for her research... probably
Dr. Crusher: That one overly enthusiastic RA who becomes your bestie, perhaps against your will
Worf: Business professional fraternity brother who hates being confused with the likes of Riker.
Data: That one kid in your art class that is getting a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, and when you ask him, "wtf why are you here," he just says, "I wanted to learn art :)"
Geordi: The RA who's actually a solid bro, engineering major but the one engineering major who's not an asshole.
Wesley: The poor kid who got to college aged 16 or 17 and isn't allowed to leave the building without parental permission

Junior Medical Officer's Log, Stardate 12406.02,
It has come to my attention that it is the beginning of Pride month for the LGBTQ+ community. Every day of this month where queer voices are heard, causes are supported, and people live wholely as they truly are is a day closer to the future I know, where no person has to live in fear of persecution for their mere existence.
Watching the state of your world play out in real time, it is understandable how many are becoming discouraged. There is no more illogical act than to hate or harm others for being different, yet countries and social groups around the world seem determined to prove me wrong. Know that their actions are in vain. History will prove them wrong.
Take comfort in logic during these illogical times: Love is love, and trans people are people. Genocide is deplorable and unsustainable. Things will, eventually, get better.
Happy Pride Month, and Free Palestine,
JMO Selik 🖖🏳️‍🌈🍉

Data, delighted: Hello Spot!
Spot: *Jumps into Geordi's lap*
Data: It appears she is warming up to you.
Geordi, as Spot does her best to sit on top of his face: I guess you could call it that.

DS9 Characters as Shit My College Profs Have Said
Sisko: “Whatever, man. Some laws are meant to be broken.”
Kira: “We call this the Screaming Time. Because that is all you’ll want to do.”
Dax: “Isn’t that [image of mating leopard slugs] beautiful?? Someone should make this into an ornament — it would be a perfect gift for a biologist.”
Bashir: “So you should discuss philosophy, but don’t discuss it too much, because they will kill you for it.”
O’Brien: “It’s a very good book, and I would have assigned it, but uh,, I don’t want to cry in front of all of you. That would be embarrassing.”
Garak: “I’m rather fond of grand-matricide. In fact, I advocate for it.”
Quark: “Alchemy is like cryptocurrency for the Middle Ages.”
Rom: “What is this class called again?” (Survey of Major American Authors) “I don’t know what any of those words mean.”
Jake: “This isn’t work. I just walk in here, rant about whatever I’m thinking for an hour, and then leave. Ask anyone who’s run into me on the street; I do the exact same thing.”

Junior Medical Officer's Log Continuation, Stardate 12405.04,
It has come to my attention that today is the national holiday of the 'Star Wars'. A most curious tradition. To understand it, however, I am obliged to participate.
JMO Selik 🖖
May the Force be with you
Junior Medical Officer's Log, Stardate 12308.02,
I have been made aware that a presumably fictional world with remarkable similarities is often compared to my own supposedly fictional world. The primary difference is that the other world is dominated by wars and an unending power struggle. However, with my knowledge of the alternate reality wherein my world is much more than fiction, I am forced to wonder wether the same applies to this universe in another reality. It is also said to occur 'in a galaxy far, far away'...
I welcome any input: Where do you stand on these 'Star Wars'?
JMO Selik 🖖

Kirk, wandering into sickbay: Hey Bones, what time is it?
McCoy, lying on a med bed face down, consumed by regret and stress surrounding his position as CMO: too late

Uhura: I'm bringing everyone coffee before the 7 am meeting tomorrow, what do you all want?
McCoy: Iced cold brew, black as my soul, and as big as you can make it.
Kirk: Hmmmmm... something with as much sugar and caffeine as you can physically cram into it.
Spock, visibly disgusted: Chai latte, and perhaps the captain should forgo beverages entirely in favor of a stimulant?
Sulu and Chekov, chanting: Lemon loAF leMON LOaf lemon loaffFFfFff
Scotty: Er, could you just fill a coffee mug with scotch?
Uhura, sighing: No one on this crew is okay

Kirk: Is it not enough to be kind? Why do I have to fight people too?
Spock: Interesting assessment. I believe that accurately reflects your usual method of negotiation, and by extension, your values. This trait of yours is highly unique-
McCoy, cutting him off: -and highly suspicious, you've never hesitated to slap a bitch.
Kirk: Oh, absolutely.
Spock:
McCoy:
Kirk: It'd just be nice if the kindness worked first for once.

Kirk, facedown in McCoy's quarters at 2 am: Boooooooonesssssssss, how do you form a genuine emotional connection?? All I know is flirt, rip your shirt, chess metaphors, and yearning.
McCoy, getting up to get a bottle of alcohol and have a heart to heart with him: It's too damn late for your shenanigans.

Picard: I expect this upcoming conference will be rather riveting, don't you agree Number One?
Riker: With all due respect, though, you are the type of guy to get excited over an orthodontist's appointment.

Spot: *Meowing loudly*
Data: Is that appropriate language? Use your words, Spot.
Geordi, overhearing this: Data, what are you doing?
Data: I am attempting to teach Spot better manners with regard to her meowing, as she has interrupted my communications a number of times.
Geordi: And how's that going?
Data: *Opens his mouth to speak*
Spot: MREEEEEOOOOOOOOOW
Data: Spot, I will have none of that sass.
