Thoughts on new animation, based on the teasers.
I almost doubted the animation choice. I did doubt it. I've been proved incorrectly so far though, and to be honest, the Pixel stylistic choice, was a good one. It strangely reminds me of Lego games, like the original Star Wars and Indian Jones. So far, It's gotten my stamp of approval...this does make me question though(someone answer it if it's right)...is My Inner Demons Season 2, going to be animated as well?
(I got too many things to watch this summer).

I've seen a few people talk about talk about the MCD Michi and Laurence situation, it was awhile ago though. I wish more people would though, both Zane and Laurance's situations should be talked about more.
Aphmau was actually my introduction to shipping, strangely enough (She was also my introduction to Five Nights at Freddy's...story for another time) I've always been a huge fan of shipping, I've always been a huge fan towards romance, but I would harass someone over it, even my younger self, knew better, and that child was unhinged (I almost had unlimited internet access, but somehow my parents were smart enough to tell me not comment on YouTube videos, which prevented me from joining fandom spaces when I was little, thank goodness too).
Hopefully the team took into consideration of a few things to change with the animation, I think with just a few changes, the animation for season 7, won't be a bad thing. Now that the DnD night is happening, I got another side story thing I need to watch(I didn't want the Mystreet Side Stories, I sure watched the MCD ones though, The beach one was my Love~Love Paradise). I'm hoping Laurance gets back in the picture, I miss that dude. Btw, I'm sorry that this conversation is super long, I yap a lot😂 you're welcome to end it.
I like Mystreet as much as the next person, I was a MCD person, and I'll always be a MCD person...with that being said, from time to time, I think about the comparisons for characters between the two properties...you know the usual, like the Mystreet Laurance and MCD Laurance, or sometimes Garroth, or even Katelyn...this rambling session isn't about them though, it's about Dante.
By far, Dante is one of my favorites in MCD. At first glance, he can be forgettable. He's not apart of the Aphmau love triangle, nor is he apart every adventure in season 2, but when you get the whole picture of MCD, he's character is amazing.
I mean, there's so much to him. His personality, his morals, his history...his family. Dante is a character that is easily expandable.
By far, one of the most important things about Dante, is his loyalty. This man, stayed 15 years in the same place because his Lord told him to, no matter how many offers for him to leave came up, he didn't, and that is extremely compelling.
With that said, it's time for Mystreet Dante...anyways! Dante in Mystreet (+ Phoenix Drop High) is quite different. First off, Dante in Mystreet is extremely flirty, to the point he's creepy and disrespectful. In Phoenix Drop High(mostly effecting Mystreet later on), Dante taught Travis creepy behaviors, such as touching others without their permission. Of course, this is all played for humor, Dante in Mystreet is all played for humor...even when his behaviors are far from it.
To add to this behavior, it's very obvious from the first episode of Mystreet, that Dante is supposed to be seen in a more love interest route, a route that Mystreet Aphmau realistically, doesn't chose. I find this odd, comparably, in MCD, Dante views Aphmau as a sister, and I'd like to believe Aphmau views Dante as brother, or at least as someone who is family...this really makes me wonder, why did Jessica, in Season 1 of Mystreet, put Dante in a love interest light? When she makes it very clear In MCD, that Dante doesn't view Aphmau in that way.
Another thing about Dante, that reloves around love, is his relationships, romantic relationships that is. In season 1 of Phoenix Drop, Dante not only dates Kawaii~Chan, but Nicole(An obvious reference to MCD). In MCD, The Kawaii~Chan and Nicole situation is taken as a situation that is sad and complicated. I'm not exactly sure on times, but Dante does Date Nicole for awhile, before she must go back to Scaleswind, and if I remember correctly, Nicole does ask Dante to go with her, but he refuses, because of his commitment to Phoenix Drop. After Nicole gets to Scaleswind, she finds she is with child, but then there's Kawaii~Chan. During the 15 year time skip, Kawaii~Chan travels a bit before settling back in Phoenix Drop. Dante and Kawaii~Chan only date after Dante and Nicole breakup...but eventually, Nicole comes for a visit. When Nicole visits, Kawaii~Chan is three months pregnant, while Nicole is also obviously pregnant. There is a very important thing to this situation, Dante doesn't know he is the father of Nicole's child. So for years after, Dante, lives unaware, until the child (Or Dimitri) sneaks away from Nicole, but after that gets sorted out, Dante steps up, he takes responsibility for Dimitri.
Now, none of that happens in Phoenix Drop High. It's just Dante dating Nicole and Kawaii~Chan at the same time. Of course, Dante deals with consequences of being a jerk to these two girls, because if I remember correctly, they dump him. I just can't help but think about it, since the two situations are very different in the priorities, one, doesn't make anyone a villain, it was a situation of major miscommunication, and as soon as every communicated, the situation turned into taking care of everyone and becoming a family. While in Phoenix Drop High, the situation is there to paint Dante as a major jerk, rightfully so, because he shouldn't be dating two people at the same time, but I just can't help but notice the two situations...and how they paint everyone in it.
There is only a few redeeming qualities of Mystreet Dante. He is funny sometimes, like in Dante and Travis the show. The changes between MCD Dante and Mystreet Dante, just makes me think about why...why did they change him so drastically? Was it just fit a trope, was it something deeper, or was it nothing at all, and I'm just thinking too deep?
(If I get any facts about MCD Dante wrong, please tell me, I haven't watched MCD in awhile)

Yeah, honestly, I hadn't really considered it until now, a lot male characters get sexually harassed in Aphmau stuff. The Michi stuff especially, isn't put to light a lot of the time, and I've noticed that it's mostly used to oppose Aphmau, like, almost to say, "Look at this other woman, she can steal your man.", when it really isn't that. In the context of Minecraft dairies, we don't really know what happened to Laurance when he was trapped with Michi, however we do have clues in dialogue like "This male mefiwa here, this is her lover, I have no use for him since he didn't want to have fun with me at all! Hmph!" And "There's not exactly much of you to have fun with...", there's context clues that Michi might of done something, or at least tried to do something to Laurence, and if the rebirth would of continued, I wonder if that would of gone deeper...
Another thing with Michi, when Aaron was switching over to be the main love interest, Michi also switched over to trying to get with Aaron. Of course, in Mystreet season 1, that's more played for laughs, like OOO, look at Michi trying to be Aphmau, and cause ✨Drama✨. When Michi's behavior, shouldn't be played for jokes, because, she can really hurt people.
The Zane ghost stuff, is extremely sad. I mean, when he was trying to tell his friend (along with, brother!) that a girl kissed him without consent, they brushed it off, like, it was impossible. I don't blame Kim for this happening, I mean, she was getting possessed, and I feel like the fandom sometimes blames her for that, but no, this is Ghost's creepy actions...
I was always a Laurmau person, I mean, as soon as Laurance was introduced in Minecraft dairies, I was hooked, to this day, he is my favorite character. Later in season 1 of MCD, Aphmau and Laurance's relationship is so sweet, and even most of season 2, I was rooting for them. For many years, I held a grudge against Aaron, because I thought Laurmau was better. When Aarmau and Laurmau are both equally good, just dynamics. Even though, I do agree that Aarmau needed to develop on screen more, and I feel like, if it did, it would of prevented some Garmau and Laurmau fans from hating it for all eternity.
I really hope season 7 of Mystreet is good though. I'm a bit hesitant on it being animation, because from the little part we saw of the animation being used, there's a high chance it could be overwhelming for some viewers. I have my own opinions on the animation. The blush on the female characters, is intense. I understand if it's like...make up, but I don't think characters such as, Katelyn, would put on that much blush. Another thing with Katelyn, I feel like she'd have more muscle, but in the animation, she doesn't, it just feels off for her character. I feel weird making this comment, but the chests. I mean, I don't know each and everyone one of the female character's body types, but I don't think everyone would have the same chest. Aphmau having a bigger chest, I see that happening, she's supposed to be a little more on the chubby side, and that can mean having a bigger chest. I'm just kind of nervous, because I already see everyone falling under the same body syndrome curse, that goes for the guys too! Not everyone guy is ultra tall with a more broad body. Just like not every girl is short, with a curvy body. It's animation now, you aren't stuck to one body type for a character, do don't make everyone have the same body.
(sorry it took me awhile to reply, I didn't get a notification😅)

Agreed! I mean, a redemption arc isn't a bad one, but Gene's actions were a bit more complicated, and I feel like no one really takes them seriously?
There's two examples of romance related things that can be very harmful because of the younger audience Mystreet had. Like Gene and Aphmau, people to this day still ship them, I can see why, it'd your typical enemy to lovers, or bully with a heart of gold. The thing is, Gene was a senior in highschool, and Aphmau was a freshmen. Gene obviously had bad intentions, but those never are really taken seriously, and to an audience who are consuming that, they won't take that seriously...and if they don't take seriously, they can find themselves in an even worse situation.
Along with Aphmau and Aaron, I know nothing inherently bad happened in canon between this two, they didn't even start dating until they were adults. I've actually grown to like the pairing, because for the most part, they be healthy. I don't like their pairing in Phoenix Drop High though, because yet again, the age gap. The age gap in adulthood, not too bad, but in highschool, bad. Especially because Aphmau is honestly really babied in both canon and outside of canon. To an audience, they will consume this, and could find themselves in a situation like it, and that is extremely dangerous, because not everyone is like Aaron (Sorry, I had to point this out).
Characters in Mystreet either have a story, or no story at all. Which makes me extremely sad. I mean, Aphmau is the main character, her mom was very controlling, and her dad was out of the picture, she's very kind, and likes to be there for people, even when it hurts her. That's a lot to work with. Aaron, his parents weren't Hardly there at all, his sister, was more of a guardian, but like a lot of people, left too. His family is also controlling, and he has all the lycan stuff! Garroth and Zane, they got the Ro'meave stuff, and Zane feels a lot of reinstatement toward Garroth, and Garroth doesn't realize that until later. Katelyn has mommy issues, and a lot of anger to work on. Kawaii~Chan(I prefer Nana)wants to make herself stand out more, because she couldn't stand out amongst her siblings...so many other examples, then they have characters like Laurance, who was not only stripped of his core personality in MCD, but was also, stripped from the narrative entirely. I know some of that has to do with some of the behind the scenes stuff, but his character shouldn't have to be massacred because of it
I could talk about Mystreet Laurence for days, but also not at all, because there isn't much to talk about, besides his behavior in season 1, which annoys me.
There's the thing, I also don't blame Jessica or Jason for this. Neither of them planned to make Mystreet a more in-depth story, If they had, I'd like to believe everyone would of have gotten storylines that are interesting. Aphmau rewriters, have the luxury of knowing the full story(almost, season 7 is still approaching) so they can go deeper with theming, characters, and lore. Hopefully season 7, will expand on plot points, and characters, but it might be difficult, because it's the last season of Mystreet, the last season of anything should be for wrapped up plotlines, not making new ones.
It's also refreshing talking to someone about Aphmau stuff, I don't talk about it a lot.

Honestly, I gotta agree. I didn't take into full account that Gene is present in Dante's full life in Mystreet. If Mystreet would of been more planned out, or if Dante was included in season 5 + 6, I feel like he could of had a character arc like Travis. Where Dante learns to not idolize his brother, and learns that his behaviors towards women, are wrong. That could of been beautiful for Dante. Maybe Dante will get more of an arc in season 7, or maybe he had an arc off screen(hopefully not, but Dante being alone with himself isn't a bad idea for some realization). Thank you for writing a response, not gonna lie, I honestly wanted to have a conversation about Dante and his writing between the two propertie(even though, looking back, I was a bit more off the rails and I wasn't considering Mystreet's complicated story, and I was much more trying to think about the reason for, and not the reason why). Thank you for replying though.
Gene. He needs to be talked about more, Gene is MCD is mostly a fun evil...but Gene in Mystreet(more like Phoenix Drop High), he isn't fun. I'd also like to point out, Gene didn't just stalk a freshmen, he had a crush on that freshmen...he liked a 14-15 year old... I'll leave with that. :)

Was it just fit a trope, was it something deeper, or was it nothing at all, and I'm just thinking too deep?
(If I get any facts about MCD Dante wrong, please tell me, I haven't watched MCD in awhile)

I wasn't going to post this today, I thought it would take longer but...Laurance Zvhal Lore!
Back in the original Minecraft dairies, I couldn't help but notice the lack of a backstory for Laurance. Of course, we knew the basics, that he was an orphan, and Joh took him in, and that he considers Hayden as a father figure, and Cadenza as a sister...but we never truly knew where he came from, and what his life was like before...so I made my own.
In the cold region of stars...Laurance was born to a mother who was extremely young. Laurance always knew that if his mother had the choice, she wouldn't have had him, and he was okay with that.
Very early on, most likely around 5, Laurance lost his mother, and his home. His biological father, didn't want him, so he would find himself in the snowy waste land.
Werewolves liked to roam around these parts. Laurance didn't know that though, so when he saw one charging at him, he thought that was it, that the snow wasn't his end.
The werewolf only got one scratch on him, before it's head was bite off by a golden scaled beast, a wyvern.
This wyvern taking some sort of pity on the boy...took him under his wing...and Laurance stayed their for a long time. After awhile, Laurance began to forget the human dialect...
Around 8, the wyvern made the hard decision to give Laurance back to humanity...a wyvern raising a human was unheard of, and it was frowned upon...the wyvern searched for a human worthy of raising the boy.
Joh Thorn was worthy. Joh didn't see the wyvern as a threat, or a tacky piece of armor, he saw the wyvern as a sentient being.
Laurance fought and begged the wyvern to let him stay, but the wyvern has his mind set. The wyvern left Laurance a scale and and watchful eye...
Laurance didn't like Joh, or his husband...or the little girl they were taking care of. Laurance would bite, scratch, yank hair, anything to do to run...Joh wasn't so easily tricked though.
One night, Laurance escaped. He was determined to find the wyvern, and he did. The wyvern was watching him the whole time, Laurance didn't understand. He couldn't understand, why did the wyvern leave him?
Joh managed to catch up to Laurance. As Laurance looked into the obsidian eyes of the wyvern, he too, understand why he was in the care of Joh...
The wyvern wasn't leaving Laurance, but he wasn't going to be his father. Laurance looked back at Joh, and didn't see a obstacle, he saw a man who was caring, and led people with kindness and respect.
After that night, Laurance became a member of Meteil, and the son of Joh, the Lord of Meteil. That wasn't the end of his problems though...
One of his problems was Hayden, Joh's husband and his highest adviser. Hayden was strict and mean. Hayden always told Laurance to stop slouching, stop running outside without shoes, and many more things like that.
Laurance hated it. Another problem of his was, Cadenza. His...older sister...Cadenza was easily excited. She skipped everywhere, and wouldn't leave Laurance alone.
All these negative feelings would change when Laurance learned what the words...'Ugly' and 'Stupid' meant. Every kid called him that, others would laugh along with them...Laurance felt...sad. The same parents of these kids, would speak awful words of Joh and his marriage, they disapproved of Cadenza and himself.
These words didn't go unheard, Cadenza would start fights with the kids who were mean. Hayden would give a simple glare, and the adults would stop their nonsense...Family was an important thing, and Laurance's family as Joh, Hayden and Cadenza.
Laurance's world became normal, yes, words hurt, and they made him feel bad, but they didn't rule his entire life. He had friends, Cadenza's friends, Castor, Sasha, and Kenmur...life was good. That's when he found out, he give back to his people, he could be a guard.
As soon as Laurance was of age, he was in the Gaurd Academy. Laurance was smaller then everyone else in his year, and it made things difficult, but not impossible.
[Okay! Okay! Here's when a oc shenanigan starts!]
In his second year, Laurance was confronted with a choice. He could, ignore and eat lunch, or save the first year who was about to experience the wrath of a Mr. Danruff. He chose the second option, the only price, was a hard smack on the face.
There Laurance would get to know the first year, by bathroom cleaning for a week. She was taller than him, and had a confusing personality. She was obviously scared around authority figures, but she obviously struggled with anger. Their time would be cut short, because the bathroom cleaning punishment was over.
The interaction would leave Laurance thinking about the first year for a long time...about what could cause the conflicting personality...
As Laurance grew older, he grew taller, and people would look at him more, not in the 'Ugly' way, but in a different way. When Laurance would visit Meteil, girls would approach him...it was strange at first...mostly because it wasn't causal, but soon, Laurance played into it.
The wyvern would comeback into Laurance's life around his 7th year of the Guard academy. It started out as offering him to make it easier to visit Meteil, but it turned into the wyvern fully being in his life once more, Laurance didn't mind.
Laurance would graduate the Gaurd Academy in the 2nd highest rank, right under...the heir to the O'khasis lord title. Life contuined being great...but...things would take a turn for the worst...a turn that would kill a certain someone with an arrow.
Details of this might change, I really am still in a developmental stage of my MCD reimagining, but tell your thoughts on this backstory!

The same day...but two very different people..
Happy birthday Laurance!
Tumblr media
I won't lie, I'm actually kind of proud of this. The necklace Laurance is supposed to be wearing is supposed to be a scale...a wyvern scale.

Well well, we meet again. Something possessed me to do this...so here we are... discussing The Alternates
There’s Something in My House : Alternates Ep. 1
This episode begins with Aphmau running and yelling help, that’s when she runs into a faceless cop. As she tries to escape from the faceless cop, she comes face to face with…herself? Not exactly, but definitely something trying to mimic her.
Zane sees her and tells her to come into his house. The two are now in a safer environment, then the question of what’s going on is asked. A news broadcast is played, explaining the apocalypse, and naming the unusual creatures outside, or Alternates.
Zane tells Aphmau of the cameras he’s made, unfortunately, the making of those cameras cost any weapons he had. Aphmau has the bright idea to make sure nobody could get in. After the windows were covered, a strange noise was heard.
It was Kim! Of course, Kim had been searching for weapons, and she found one, a bat. Playful banter and planning begins. Zane then shows his security system, which is notably dusty. The cameras aren’t normal cameras, they detect Alternates.
Of course, the front yard has Alternates. The Demented Aphmau and The Police Officer are there…as Aphmau, Kim, and Zane flip through the cameras..they see Peirce, he’s different though…changed by the apocalypse.
Peirce has been through it. He’s already killed 5 Demented Zanes. As the door is left open, the Police Officer Alternate comes in, Peirce takes the shot, closes the door…as well as boards it up. He does exposition…and Kim simps.
A team of Aphmau, Zane, kim, and Peirce forms. Peirce informs the group that the Alternates are extremely flammable, once again, Kim simps. Zane somehow has an incinerator downstairs. That’s when the four notice The Demented Aphmau Alternate standing at one of the windows…nothing comes of that.
The topic of food comes up, and Pierce has dog food on hand…Kim eats it…which isn’t a good idea. That’s the cost of surviving. Kim and Zane argue about shed food, then the cameras alert the group of issues. Zane and Aphmau go up to the game room…
Nothing seems out of the ordinary, at first. Then Aphmau sees a VR headset and puts it on…but Zane didn’t own it…It was an Alternate! Zane and Aphmau fight to get it off, and they do it successfully…then they burn it.
After that, things seem to be going well, besides arguing. After an amazing pep-talk from Pierce, Aphmau and Zane began to clap…that wasn’t good though. Peirce was right next to a window that was unprotected. The Demented Aphmau Alternate breaks the window..and ends Peirce. The gun that Peirce had on his person drops…and Aphmau picks it up. She tries to shoot at The Demented Aphmau Alternate…but it gets away.
The window is covered after that…
Zane and Kim begin to argue once more. Aphmau is the assigned leader, and assigns Kim to the cameras…to Zane’s dismay. Now here’s the question of food, the shed food. Zane and Aphmau brave the outside to go to the shed. Zane is on watch duty, as Aphmau searches…she finds Prune Bars…ew. On a good note, she finds Walkie Talkies! On a bad note, Zane runs away, leaving Aph alone, with the Demented Version of herself…
She manages to run away unnoticed. Aph sees Zane in the bushes, as she tries to tell him to go inside, The Police Officer Alternate tries to attack, but Aph shoots in just in time. Kim beats Zane for being a chicken, and tries to starve Zane. Aphmau disagrees and bans snacks from him.
Then there was knocking on the door…
The three check the cameras…A Small Faced Alternate was at the door, and it has an axe. Aphmau hatches a plan…a plan to lure the thing in and kill it, for the axe. The catch is, Aph herself has to be the bait. They kill it.
Zane has bathroom problems, but an Alternate was in the house…Kim and Aph see double with lamps…and Zane himself…where the incinerator was sat two Zanes, tied to chairs. They have to make the difficult decision to see who is real, who is fake. They almost make the wrong choice…and in that choice…they lose the gun. Kim and Zane fight again, but the cameras alert them. Kc is being chased around the yard. They help her, and they find out she has a crowbar…but Zane is a simp. Kc announces there are other survivors.
Another survivor is being chased, Michi. To everyone’s dismay, they save Michi. Everyone splits up. Michi, Kc, and Aphmau are searching for supplies and other people…and they find Ryhs, being chased…
Rhys gets chased into a highschool, so the girls go save him…of course they run into alternates. They eventually find themselves in a library, and that’s where Rhys was…and Alternates are in there too.
After a few more scary situations, Rhys and the girls connect to the school cameras, and they jump off of roofs…Rhys, Kc, Michi, and Aph make it back to Zane’s house, but A Police Officer Alternate got into Zane’s game room…which is swiftly taken care of.
Now the crew finds themselves in the room where the incinerator is. For a moment peace is restored…but Zane asks a very good question, there’s 6 people now…what are the chances of them all being human…
The blame game begins, but there is no doubt who the Alternate is…She’s taller…taller than anyone else in the room…Michi.
In Michi fashion, she tried to put a suspension of Aph that didn’t last long..because everyone else noticed the problem in the wrong…that’s when everything took a turn for the worst…
After everyone passes out…they awake in the living room.
Eventually, everyone finds Zane outside…he’s obviously not well…but he says something…something no one wanted to hear, “It’s here, The Aphmau, their leader.”
A pathetic attempt at a fight occurs…Aphmau lures The Demented Aphmau into the shed and sets it ablaze! That should have done the trick..but Kim…Kc…and Rhys are strange…they have no faces…
As Aphmau is backed into the burning shed…The Demented Aphmau appears on screen…ending the video.
I'm not sure why I wrote a 2 page thingy to summarize Episode One, but I'm most definitely left with questions, but also comments, mostly comments.
• I really enjoyed this, Ep.1 still has this Cocomau feel, but with a tone of voice that makes it so it's easier to digest. Aphmau doesn't have a high pitch squeaky toy voice, she has her Mystreet tone, which a hint of serious.
• Was KC an alternate the entire time? I'm not the most sure, because when she first shows up, it does say Alternate detected, but something was chasing her...
• Another thing about KC! I refer to her as Nana most of the time, especially in my own writing, so hearing Kc and even writing it in the summary felt so wrong. Nana such a cute name, and I wished Cocomau would use it.
• Michi's voice actor changed!? Or am I incorrect, I haven't kept up with the Cocomau stuff, but hearing that threw me off.
• I'm genuinely curious about the Alternate stuff, I still have so many questions answered...
I'll see if I'll talk about the next few episodes, this was impulsive. I have watched the rest of the episodes...I'll say one last thing...I hope Laurance will be in a future episode, bye!!!

I caved...I started watching the Alternatives... It's, surprisingly good, and intriguing. I'm not a fan of Cocomau, mostly because it's too bright and too loud which makes me stressed out, but the tone of the Alternatives, is reasonable and not stressful. I highly recommend the Alternatives if you want to watch some Cocomau.
