So glad I waited for the filled donuts at @dottiesdonuts! The Boston creme was amazing as was the blueberry filled with coconut. My favorite specialty donut was the apple fritter. Fluffy, fruity, and delicious! The other half dozen were also so so good. Last meal in Honolulu was at @vegan_hills. Things happen for a reason. Saw Miranda at @what_it_dough and then @ulumanahawaii booth the next day, and she encouraged us to go to Vegan Hills. You can always tell when chefs cook with love. At @juicybrew we could tell it was full of love, care, and craft. After getting a tour of the new location of @rabbitfoodgrocery, I picked up a few things that I wanted. @plantsnacks vegan cheddar cassava root chips, @pansmushroomjerky zesty thai flavor, @its.jerky.yall prickly pear chipotle flavor, @unreal.snacks dark chocolate peanut gems, two flavors of @chocolatehollowvt, a @capcitybakery berry pop tart, and a @prettycandypincompany nooch pin. A great haul if I do say so myself. If you’re ever in Austin, do yourself a favor and go to Rabbit Food Grocery. All vegan groceries are hard to find, and this is a great one. As a perfectionist, I can be very critical of my work... and that includes cooking. That said this MC Sammie, an @eatplantalchemy take on the Monte Cristo, was amazing. Maybe it’s how tasty our seitan Ham is... or how gooey the melty cheese is... or the punch of the handmade sourdough... or the fresh strawberry compote. Whatever it was... it worked.
