On the topic of poor Pokemon behavior seen on social media, there was something weird I saw a few days ago. There was a video of a rapidash stallion charging at his owner (who was filming), rearing up with his ears pinned and eyes wide. The owner had captions saying things like “social media says he’s dangerous, but he’s really sweet! He’s just playing” followed by clips of him being very gentle with a couple small kids, like trotting carefully and taking hay from their hands.
I’m not sure what to make of this myself. I worked with equine pokemon for a few years, but the barn owner specifically disallowed stallions from being boarded there because of how young some of the riders were there, and how unpredictable stallions can be, so I don’t have any experience with them. I can’t imagine charging and rearing is safe behavior to be doing towards people, but I don’t know enough to say one way or the other. Is play behavior like that really normal for stallion rapidash?
yeah that's how you get gored by the giant horn on a rapidash's head. rapidash can indeed play rough, especially as stallions. but there are two things that make that sound really really scary to me. the first is the facial expression you're describing, which sounds to me like it's territorial/aggressive and not play. the second is that, even if the rapidash were playing, you cannot let a pokemon with hard hooves and a massive horn and several open flames (assuming this is a kantonian) roughhouse with you like that. rapidash play often involves a lot of chasing and biting and kicking, but a rapidash can take what it gives. a human can't. i've almost been seriously injured by equine pokemon that are sweet and gentle and just happened to get scared while i was around them.
stallion rapidash aren't necessarily dangerous by default, but you have to be really careful in training them and not allowing any sort of aggression towards humans, because an intact male rapidash has typically evolved because it needs to fight to maintain its territory and herd. a pokemon that can hit 240 kmh in ten strides and breathe fire is not a pokemon you let act that way around you.

In other news, Lilli and Azure have evolved! :D I plan on drawing a picture of them both once I've got free time from testing.

Question: is it normal for bunearys to be mean to certain pokemon?
My buneary, Coco, has been getting mad at rufflets, vullabys, and trapinches whenever she can I go for a walk in the Savannah biome in the Terraium at school in Unova and it's gotten bad enough that i ball her until i get to the Coastal, Canyon, and Polar biomes to walk her...
Help?
sincerely, @tokensofmyconfections
that's not all that odd, really. buneary are extremely wary pokemon and arent particularly friendly to strangers to start. meanwhile, all three of those pokemon are capable of preying upon buneary, so i'm not surprised coco isn't a fan.
the terarium is a neat concept, and it does present some really unique educational opportunities! but it's also really stressful for prey pokemon to be surrounded by predators a vast majority of the time. this is one of the reasons trainers typically keep their pokemon balled while out in areas with a large number of wild pokemon. even though it's your school, keeping her balled in areas with a lot of pokemon she isn't fond of is the best choice for her.

Mood?
Coco, my buneary, goes zubat crap whenever she sees trapinch when I go exploring the Terraium's savannah biome, not to mention that she can and will go after rufflets and vallabys.
Imagine my day when, i go into class and my buneary decides to attack the screen because we were learning about those two pokemon that day.
"buneary are skittish! they only get violent if you really scare or piss them off!" bull fucking shit!!! artists rendition of what i deal with every fucking day. i have bibi on a fucking child leash. she has broken 3 of said leashes. she will stop at nothing to beat the shit of the local pachirisu population. "buneary are herbivores" i dont think this one got the fucking memo she wants to slaughter
#buneary#so adorable#but so aggressive at times#what did rufflets trapinches and vullabys do you you Coco?

🎆 Happy New Years 🎆 Year of the Snake is upon us this 2025 so I felt it was only fitting to draw a Serperior for this occasion.
This also means I'll need to update my signature stamp.

Now then, I have something to get off my chest. Now, I'd prefer saying this in Countryside Interpretation, a sign or pamphlet, but my artistic prowess is limited.
Please pick up your discarded Pokéballs.
Firstly, modern pokeballs are constructed out of metal. When you leave pokeballs in routes, pokemon can easily become stuck in them. I have seen many woopers become trapped in balls, many others will never escape.
Not only that, pokeballs take hundreds of years to decay and break down. These tools can pollute waterways, forests, and especially bogs and wetlands, where decomposition takes much longer. Even when the balls have fully rotted, they can send heavy metals into the water, turning the land toxic to all forms of life.

Hooray to their adopter! :D
Shadow (Adopted)

Name: Shadow
Species: Lycanroc
Type: Rock
Terra Type: Dark
Breed: Bloodmoon Umbreon mix
Sex: Male
Pronouns: He/him
Age: 2 years (adult)
Height: 3'07
Weight: 51.1 lbs
Ability: Vital Spirit
Moveset: Crunch, Rock slide, Fire fang, Stealth rock
Shadow is a 2 year old Bloodmoon Umbreon mix that's been with us since he was a rockruff, but he never got adopted. He's pretty shy, and it can take him a while to warm up to people. He would do well in a house with another pokemon (he'll be fine once he gets to know them) or by himself. He sheds a lot btw, so he shouldn't be adopted if you have allergies. Because he's Midnight Lycanroc, he's nocturnal, so don't be surprised if you hear howling at 3am. He likes toys, but he's hard to play fetch with bcuz he'll just chew on it or stand their holding it while wagging his tail. If interested in adopting him, reblog with your qualifications and reasons why.
