79 #PeaveyT40 is heavier than your bass. The out of phase selector on this guy does some bubbly, scoopy wonders. I have some heavy gauge round wounds on this boy that make the treble a little much at times. Thinking about getting some flat wounds to mellow him out. Anywho... dig that design. The bridge alone probably weighs as much as a small tiger. #PeaveyBass #BassGuitar

Just some red things. The 6 stringer is a 95 #GibsonThePaul. It's one of my firsts and I've been juggling with the idea of selling it to fund a much wanted hollowbody OR throwing some Lollar P94s in it as a last tone test. To be honest, it plays amazing but sounds lackluster. I've tried different humbucker combos but nothing tickled my tone fancy. It's mostly sentimental at this point. Any suggestions? Now the real focus here is the original #RamsHeadBigMuff. The Ibanez Bass Comp is a gem, too. #BigMuff #toneco #pedaljunkie #guitarcollection #vintageeffects

There she is. All 3/4s of her. 1965 #Silvertone 1434 just oozing with surf and good vibes. Something about #shortscaleguitars makes me want to collect em all. The 1434 was introduced in 1964 by #Kay and discontinued in 1965. Even though it was short lived, it made a famous cameo in Tom Hanks "That Thing You Do." I found one of these a few years ago that had a warped neck beyond repair. I had to take it back to Guitar Center so they could sell it for the same price to an unlucky gent... Anywho, snatched this one off eBay for 200 smacks! Cleaned the electronics, guitar and fretboard, glued a crack in the truss rod cover, adjusted the rod, made a new bridge and oiled the tuners and now it plays like a dream. Old guitars are hard to play, but sometimes a little TLC (not the waterfalls kind) will get them back to new. All I need now is to find a replacement volume knob. Anyone happen to have one? #Silvertone1413 #catalogguitars #surfguitar #vintageguitars #guitarcollection #geartalk #toneco #vintagegear

#ThrowBackThursday to the period in time when I cranked this '73 #SuperReverb loud everyday. It was the first amp that got me hooked on Fender tube amps from the 60s and 70s. I had to sell this guy to fund my 65 Super Reverb, so it's all good. This silvery combo had a warmer, mid-range chime, bell tone crisp and clear. Beautiful reverb just like its blackface brothers and sisters, just a little more mellow. #SilverFace #FenderSuperReverb #knowyourtone #cleantone #vintagegear #gearjunkie #geartalk #VintageAmps

Favorite Ibanez delay thus far. I heard the Delay Champ is the king--got my eye on that one next. Even though this thing is digital, it has that subtle analog warble. The trails are pristine and cut through nicely. #Ibanez #IbanezMasterSeries #IbanezPowerSeries

Wouldn't you think my collections complete? Finally. The 80s #Peavey stomp box collection is all here! If you've been following @tone_co for a bit you know I've been on the prowl for a while. I fell in love with the lush tone from the Companded Chorus in the top right a year ago and had to hear them all. Haven't been disappointed in a single one, especially for the price. There are some vids on my page if you're curious. I'll post more eventually. Top left to right: Accelerator Overdrive AOD-2, Stereo Effects Processor DEP-16, Companded Chorus CMC-1, Compressor/Sustainer CSR-2, Dual Clock Chorus DSC-4, Hotfoot Distortion HFD-2, Bi-Amp Bass Chorus BAC-2, Digital Delay DDL-3, Digital Stereo Reverb SRP-16 #peaveyeffects #80speavey #peaveyelectronics

Super clean #65SuperReverb. You just have to see this faceplate in person. Minty-er than a peppermint patty... and tastier too. #FenderSuperReverb #SuperReverb #tubeamp #vintageamp #fenderamp #cleantone #tonefordays

The red tolex affects the tone... This Gorilla TC-35 has the most unique solid state crunch from a 10" speaker. These guys were made in Taiwan in the early to late 80s. This one can even hold its own with a small drum kit. #TubeCruncher #GorillaAmps #redtolex #GorillaTC35 #TC35 #practiceamp #guitaramp

A little idea of how well these original Crates handled pedals. Straight #CKY tone with the @ehxnyc #OctaveMultiplexer running through a @radialeng #LondonBones distortion. Riffin with my 3/4 scale #AirlineBobkat. Peep that juicy purple @lavacable all over the place 👌🏼 #tonefordays #96quitebitterbeings #Valco #CrateAmp #shortscaleguitars #Dearmond #ampdemo #crateamp

"Let's put an amp in a crate and call it the CRATE Amplifier" - Common sense, but unique idea that was probably blurted out by Gene Kornblum of St. Louis Music. The first Crate amps were introduced in 1978 after Gene was impressed by Crate and Barrel's merchandise, which was displayed in wooden crates. To this day I believe these are the coolest of the entire line. They were only around until early 1980s when they moved on to tolex. This guy, the #Crate1 is solid pine and only 10 watts but packs a nice woody, warm and throaty tone. Has a line out and gain, treble, bass and master. The amp produces a clean tone with slight crunch when you crank the gain. #CrateAmps #SLMCrate1 #crateamplifiers #1978Crate #vintageamps #solidstate #cleantone #geartalk

Check out those black to ivory sunburst corners. Valco / National / Supro over delivers on details for being an affordable option in the late 50s/60s. This 1960 Supro Super is otherworldly mint. Oh, and guitar finishes look best outside #SuproSuper #Valco #CatalogGuitars #vintageguitars #geartalk #shortscaleguitars

This. Is. A. Monster. I don't know how anyone's ears and back survived the late 70s. This 1978 Peavey Musician 400 Series will take the doors off your home. The giant 4 x 12 cab outputs 200 watts of solid state chime and punch. The footswitch controls onboard reverb, tremolo, fuzz, and distortion from the first channel. And might I add the reverb tank is pretty spectacular. 6 band EQ also shapes the tone of the first channel. Second channel has your common volume, treble, middle and bass. All-in-all this stack outputs some mean tone and can compete with any drum kit and bass rig. I might list this locally soon, simply because the volume is too much for me in my home studio. #PeaveyMusician #Peavey400 #PeaveyMusician400Series #1978Peavey #1978Peavey400 #solidstateamps #vintageamps #vintageFriday

Completely adore the design, chrome embellishments, and sunburst on this 60s Teisco hollowbody. This cheapo #JapaneseGuitar was sold through Sears and had no branding, badges or clues of its manufacturer. It's not worth much but it's looks are everything 😳 I'm looking to sell this guy to fund another hollowbody [$250 shipped in the U.S.] -- if you or a friend are interested, post or tag em in the comments. Who else has a love for Japanese guitar design from the 60s? #vintageguitars #catalogguitars #geartalk #tonemob #bstgearwire
