ok I absolutely failed to liveblog the convention bc I was living in the moment, but now that it's over it's time for me to make my emotional post ❤️

this was actually my FIRST ever convention and I'm so glad I got to spend it with @jellybracelet and @trials-era-sam who made awesome roommates and company for the entire trip <3

I got to do the j2 photo op I wanted, to see jared for the first time irl (holy shit he's real), to show off my spn tattoo, and to spend wonderful time with old friends and new ones. I also got an actual jelly bracelet from @jellybracelet (I know) and adorable drawings by @tongjingnian who was so incredibly nice in person <333

I love you all, still can't believe that after 7 years of dreaming to go to a convention I finally got the chance to. It's surreal ❤️

Hi! I just started watching Supernatural for the first time a couple of months ago. (I’m halfway through season 7, so I have a way to go!) I googled Jensen, and was surprised by how little I could find about him online. I figured he was just more private than many celebs. Then I found this article about the beer brewing business, in which he talks at length about the business set-up, but barely mentions his family or Danneel, and it was so bizarrely clinical, I was like, ‘Is this guy OK? Is this marriage all right?’

Then I came on Tumblr and started finding tinhat posts. At first I thought this was just fannish wishful thinking, but the difference between J2 together and with their wives is so stark, that I was starting to be convinced before I even saw Speak the Truth.

So, I just wanted to say thank you for collating all this stuff, and sharing great opinions! I feel sad for J2 that they have to live like this, but I’m old enough to know how real the pressure is that makes them do it. I’m glad we get to see how much they love each other in the ways they can show us. Do you think they’ll ever feel safe to drop the mask?

In third place: I have already made a post answering this question (I will put you here the link), so in this case I will make a different kind of post, I will try to show how the closetive thing has affected them.

They bet on their professional careers when they met and fell in love and they chose to lock themselves in the glass closet in which they are still nowadays. It was their choice.

In my opinion, Jensen is the one who is more passionate with the vocation thing, I mean, I know he has Radio Company and he has FBBC, but It seems that Jared is less emotional attached with his actor career than Jensen is. Maybe I'm wrong, it's just an opinion.

I think Jared's real vocation is to interact with people and make people happy. Yes, he loves acting, but making people happy is what satisfies him the most.

I'm saying this because I think Jared places more importance on not disappointing the fans and Jensen places more importance on his acting career. All this in reference to the perfect image of a straight and married men that the fans have of J2. Do you know how many stans would go crazy if Jared or Jensen admitted they've been in the closet this whole time? There would be a huge hate campaign towards both of them. I think Jared doesn't want to disappoint them, to have such a big amount of hate over his shoulders only because he loves another man, I think he "feels responsible" of making the fans happy. And Jensen doesn't want to put both of their careers at risk.

In this piece of a panel they spoke about their feelings and it's just a masterpiece for me, let's analyze it:

Jared: "But our kids get to see their parents doing something that they love so it's overwhelming but I'm greatful for the chance to make these sacrifices"

They love what they do but to have what they have, they have to make sacrifices

Jensen: "If we were doing something that didnt inspire us and didnt fulfill us then yeah, there would be that sense of overwhelming "

If this was not something that compensated them, they would have left it

Jensen: "And yes, there are sacrifices that are being made in order to fulfill this unique thing gift that we've been given"

They are fine and satisfied with the sacrifices, it is something they have chosen somehow

Jensen: "But I think he and I, both, because we have such a passion for the purpose, it helps us balance everyting"

They do it for their vocations

Jensen" And we have each other to stay accountable"

Sometimes it's too much but at least they have each other

This is important too, Jared has said it a lot of times but Jensen said it this time too. They have suffered because of being famous and because of being in the public eye.

Jared telling one of the meanings of the tattoo they share, it's a reminder that there are high times and low times.

And the expression 'uneasy lies the head that wears a crown' means that a person with great power, such as a king, is constantly apprehensive. So this could fit with my theory of Jared being worried about what fans would feel if he said he is with Jensen, and he feeling he has the responsabilty of making them happy.

Is this marriage all right?'" Basically I think the same about J&D. Not too long ago I was talking to a Tinhatter and opened my eyes about a topic. I really think Jensen would be happier without D in his life so I really was wondering why he didnt get divorce, because I thought, well if only one of them gets divorced it would not be suspicious, so why Jensen doesnt get divorced?, but then I was talking with this tinhatter and this tinhatter told me if one them gets divorce people would start to keep his attention on him, AND THAT'S FUCKING TRUE! Have you ever wondered why the press doesn't chase J2? Because the press was persecuting them before they got married but then they got married and press started to stop persecuting them. If Jensen or Jared get divorced they would be interesting for the press again, and they would not have the privacy they have now, the privacy they need to spent time together without people noticing. The press isn't interested in the perfect happy family, but a very attractive famous single? That's juicy for the press and that doesnt benefit J2's glass closet.

Just thinking about how Dean calls Sam "little brother" so often and how that's always felt unnatural to me. I don't know any siblings I've ever met who actually use the phrase "big brother" or "little brother" when actually talking to their siblings.

And there's the fact that Sam doesn't really say it back. Like he says "he's my big brother" or even "you're my big brother", but he doesn't ever really seem to use it in place of Dean's name the way Dean does for Sam.

So I've always wondered where that came from, and when Dean picked it up.

I have a theory that it was actually at the very beginning. I can imagine Mary and John telling him "This is Sam. He's your little brother." And that standing out to him because Sam is clearly everyone's but he's only his little brother.

Maybe that hadn't fully set in though until the night of the fire, when his dad tells him "grab your brother and run!", and as his house is burning down behind him, and he sits on that back of the ambulance with his dad and knowing he's lost his mom, maybe that phrase repeats in his head. Your brother. Your brother. Your your your.

And I think that did something to Dean's brain. Especially as his Dad starts leaving them more and more. Houses? They can be lost. Mom's? They die. Dad's? They weren't really all there in the first place. But little brothers? The thing that's only his? They're his. They're his, he can grab them, and he can keep them, and as long as that stays, as long as he has a little brother, he's got one thing.

Maybe he repeats that in his head over and over until he can finally speak again after the fire. My little brother. Little brother. Mine. Maybe that stays even after he can speak again, after all Sammy is too young to really know any different or correct him. So maybe sometimes when Dean folds himself in his brother's crib he says that out loud, over and over, to reassure himself he's still got something to hold onto.

Little brother, little brother, little brother.

I think eventually he does clearly grow out of it, he grows old enough to start calling Sam Sammy. But I think when he gets stressed, when he feels like things are slipping away, it falls out like an old balm on wounds that never closed.

I think that's why it slips out sometimes in the show. Sometimes that habit he has still comes forward, and he just needs to know. Little brother? (Are you ok?) Little brother? (Do I still have you?) Little brother? (Am I ok?)

Heart Eyes

On ne va pas se voiler la face, actuellement (en ce dernier dimanche de février '24) on est perdu dans le désert "Tinhat", avec juste nos souvenirs et nos espoirs pour nous permettre d'avancer sur le petit sentier ensablé.

Sans surprise, il y en a qui flanchent, qui sont sur le point d'abandonner leur chapeau d'alu sur le bord du chemin, ou qui simplement sont déjà montés dans un autre wagon en route pour un pays plus verdoyant.

On est peut-être plus que quelques uns à garder la foi, à voir au-delà de ce qu'on veut nous faire croire, et à croire que la pluie reviendra bientôt pour nous inonder des sourires de J2 ENSEMBLE.
