What will the three of you dress up as for Halloween?

"Huey, Dewey, and Louie want D.W., Gosalyn, an' me to dress up like them... Well, how they used to dress. With the little caps and matchin' shirts."

"What Launchpad said! I think it's a keen idea! Dibs on Dewey!"

"Yes, Gosalyn, so you've said... Over and over..." *clears throat* "We've got it all worked out, anon. Gos will be Dewey, Launch will be Louie, and I shall be dear Hubert. The Duck boys will also be dressing up... As us. I guess for them, that's as 'meta' as things get around here. Hah! Just wait till they get to St. Canard, I say... The city that sleeps... but only because it's likely to give a trick with every treat..."

Drake: Have you ever cried in public?

"Yes, I have had myself a cry in public, once... but only because I shot myself with tear gas from the gas gun... Admittingly, I wasn't always the coordinated, charismatic, humble criminal-catcher I am today..."

Drake: Calm down, please. It’s ok…even though you’re not easiest person to be around….You’re not crazy. And Gosalyn and LP will always love you.

Drake: Maybe everyone believes Launchpad and Gosalyn would be better off without you in their family?

"NOW WHO WOULD SUGGEST A THING LIKE THAT?!"

"Suuure, there's the chatter going around about my being 'neuro-divergent' (though, frankly, I think that's just the kids' way of calling me CRAZY)——But! That doesn't mean a guy can't have friends and family, does it? They said Leonardo duckVinci was crazy too but look where we are today! Even penguins can ride the skies!" Darkwing steeples his fingers. "You know, if you really were to stop and think about it, LAUNCHPAD is the pilot here and therefore a lot more comparable to ol' Leo than moi... Would you tell him to lead a life of solitude? Gosalyn was an orphan when I adopted her and as much as it pains me to mention money, I doubt there were a lot of other parental candidates as well off as I happen to be... Besides! Do you really think the average mom or dad could've utilized that kind of energy? The girl's a spitfire——A regular chip off the block! I left her for ONE day with Mrs. Muddlefoot and she tried to change her... So I don't care what everyone believes! Until my kid says she's sick of me or until Launchpad says he quits, you can take your theories and your hearsay and eat 'em, guileless gossiper!"

"What, like they want to replace me?"

Proxima heard laughter from inside, a reaction to Dagwood’s frantic yelling. She cocked her head at all his words, catching a few here and there, because her mind was turning wheels a thousand miles a minute. One could tell she was the more hyper one, especially when they were scratching at her tummy. She wiggled and waggled, absolutely loving the pets, even if Dagwood didn’t think he was doing a great job on her.

She gave him a forgiving chuff sound, wanting to let him know it was all cool between them, and after he finished pets, she sat upright, giving him a big lick, of course avoiding the nose area. He liked Izzy? Genuinely, and not just to go bam bam with her mother. She could tell in his eyes.

Isolabella came looking for Proxima, a big bowl of raw meat in her hands. “Proxima, sweetie? Where are y-” She stopped in her tracks, not believing what she was seeing. “My god, first you’ve fallen, and now you’re-” She shook her head, placing Proxima’s bowl down.

The feline didn’t move, knowing Dagwood was cold, and she didn’t want to eat until he was warm and comfortable. So she stared at Isolabella until she got the idea. “Oh, fine. Fine.” Izzy sighed and mumbled,“As if my day wasn’t already hectic enough…” as she retrieved a blanket, and threw it beside Dagwood’s shivering figure.

Proxima let out a low growl, telling her she needed to actually cover him, so that’s what Isolabella did, cleavage practically right in the guy’s face. When she was standing again, she huffed. “Is that good enough for you, Proxima? Will you eat your food now?”

Proxima let a lil roar out in approval, pulling the bowl to her with a paw, then began to chow down on her meal.

Dagwood looked up from the cat, his teeth instantly ceasing their chattering when the extravagant blonde entered the hallway again.

“Thank you, miss-” He reached for the blanket but it was hard to try and balance holding the ice to his nose and covering himself up. Honestly, he wasn’t expecting her to cover him, but she did, and in her doing so he got a little more of her than his eyes had bargained for...

“I know I said you could stand to be more generous but you didn’t have to practically flash me! With that out of the way, though, it certainly will help heat things up...” he admitted with a thick blush. Dagwood's heart was pure but the rest of him still worked under nature’s rule.

“You must be a truly wonderful person, because these big kitties really admire you, and animals understand people better than other people do, sometimes..." There was wistfulness in his voice, sadness (or something like it) he could not place. Or perhaps just refused to on decorum.

Drake, Launchpad, and Gosalyn: Have you met someone named Goofy?

"... Once, briefly, during the 1993 holiday season..."

"Oh, yeah! Me and dad did this Christmas shoot once with that Goofy guy and his son, MAX, for a video promotion."

"Awww, unfortunately, I was busy that day... I'd sure like to meet 'im, though... I hear he's even more accident-prone than I am!" Heheh. "Imagine that!"

Drake & LP: Have either of you ever been jealous of each other before?

"—Absolutely!"

Their mutual admiration had become somewhat of a joke between the hero and the pilot, so they were only happy to admit it.

Launchpad: Do you know how Doofus Drake is doing?

"I hear he's an apprentice scoutmaster for the Junior Woodchucks now!"

"That's what he told me, anyways, last time we phoned each other..." Launch doesn't doubt the ability or drive of the Drake boy, but Doofus did always have a tendency to let himself get carried away in his imagination. The youngster looked up to Launchpad, and it wasn't exactly unthinkable for him to tell a lie with the hopes to impress his idol.

Are the Justice Ducks still an active team? Have you gained new members?

"We are very much still an active team! Stegmutt and Neptunia don't make as many appearances as the rest of us, but the cold-blooded champs helps out whenever they can."

"Recruitment is more or less ongoing, but it's not so crucial as long as the Fearsome Five doesn't grow to become the Spine-chilling Six or Seven."

How did Honker find out about Drake’s secret identity?

“... The kid’s got brains, I’ll give him that, but I think he just put two and two together... That little redhead girl seems to be the common denominator, though... to say nothing of the big redhead pilot..."

LP: This might be embarrassing to ask if you, but does your large feet and your tall, muscular stature affect your coordination?

Launch looked down at his feet, then up- at his bulky arms. He was a duck, born of fine duck stock, but really, if you didn’t know any better, you might suppose he was an albatross.

Indeed, ‘Al’ was the nickname snickered throughout the hallways of McQuack’s old high-school. He never made the connection, having always figured people just preferred calling him that due to Launchpad being a word more than it was a person's given moniker. His own self happened to be the only LP in existence, to his— or anyone else’s— knowledge.

“It’s not usually a problem, but of course Darkwing does most of the acrobatics for a reason, heheh.”

how smart do you headcanon LP to be? I mean, it’s canon that he’s a pretty skilled mechanic.

// Yes, the canon does seem to portray Launchpad as a highly skilled mechanic- He built the Thunderquack by himself, after all!

As far as his other smarts go, I think of him more as a "simple" person than I do an unintelligent one. I feel like his on/off again clumsiness while on foot is a result of his stature versus his coordination. [ It is canon that his piloting is as skillful as his mechanics, but it is in his landings where his deftness suffers. That said, he also (somehow) ensures no one gets hurt in his crashes, so more credit to him there! ]

I also feel that LP is emotionally-driven compared to Darkwing, for example, and it sometimes manifests as him seeming infantile or dim but that is not really the case. Especially as per his portrayal in the DW universe. [ In DT ‘87, he is more classically a male bimbo by any definition. I go with the DW canon, mostly. ]

Moreover, Launch is of an easygoing nature, so he is not prone to argue his point or idea unless MORALLY challenged, and because of this personality trait he can get along with someone headstrong like Gosalyn or troublesome like the nephews; that emotional side of his allows him to level with actual children and see them for their humanity, which the children very much appreciate.

Education-wise, I imagine he is pretty complete there. I would wager to say he has graduated High School, College, and of course acquired the appropriate pilot licenses. He is from a family of famous-ish flyers, at any rate.

Drake: Have you met Donald Duck?

LP: Are you still friends with Donald ever since his time in the Navy?

D: "Don—"

[ Mallard grits his teeth to the thought of 'It's always DONALD' and 'What do people see in that spitting sailor?' The grit slowly becomes a taught smile, Drake doing everything he can to keep his ego in check. ]

[ He clears his throat. ]

D: "Mr. Duck's uncle, Scrooge McDuck, has hired me for a few jobs in the past, and, oh, the former happened to be present once or twice... He's really not all that interesting..."

[ The truth is: Drake had been DYING to meet Donald, the first time. People were always comparing Darkwing to Donald, and the terror that flaps in the night wanted to size up the competition. ]

LP: "Don's nephews are like my nephews, so I guess he must be like a brother to me... I'm trying to encourage him to write me more letters, heheh... His phone calls are a little hard to understand, even for me."
