Release the kraken(s)

Some more “for fun” designs, this time featuring my 3 agents. None of these guys really use a weapon with kraken, but here’s what their kraken forms would look like anyways + their to-scale regular swim forms.

This is mostly based off a conversation I was having with my friend where we realized that Iota (3) probably has a massive kraken form considering how large her squid form already is. Do NOT let her use kraken she’d probably take up like half the stage.

I also just really liked the idea of Astra having a false eye pattern on her forehead. Since Astra doesn’t blink or close her eyes at all, it can be hard to tell from a glance that the eye is fake. The only giveaway would be the fact that the “eye” does not move with her real eyes as she looks around. She also has additional less realistic eye spots on her tentacles.

My idea for Astra’s Zipcaster form since she mains the vLuna. I originally wanted to draw it out like this to plan before I committed to drawing an actual thing with her.

I wanted to go for a kinda creepy uncanny alien look for her, since Astra as a character is meant to be off putting. Also she already has a space theme so I thought modeling her after one of those stereotypical movie aliens would be fun. 👽

Also here’s ideas for Zipcaster Toothpaste and Lynn since I’ve had ideas for them circulating in my head for a while now. None of these two actually main a weapon with Zipcaster, so these forms are basically never used or seen, but I thought it would be fun to draw them anyways.

No Hermes rn though bc I couldn’t think of anything for him off the top of my head.

Dragon deez nuts

Two dragons

I realized I had 2 different Splatoon characters that are themed after dragons, so I thought it was right to draw them together lol.

Unfortunately, Dragon (the Horrorboros) really despises inklings, so I don’t think would be a very friendly meeting. Lynn also can’t fly or glide or anything either, so they’re kinda just freefalling I guess.

I don’t like Herm’s squid fingers

Due to his hairstyle, Herm’s tentacles have some cuts taken out of them, which makes it look like his squid form has fingers. That made me think “what if he actually could use them like fingers and it just looks weird and uncanny to everyone else”

More content related to Tracy and Marooner lol. I kinda like the idea that Tracy first saw Hoover and immediately thought of her own friend. It also probably helped her immediately recognize Hoover as either a Cohozuna or Cohozuna descendant like her due to their similarities. Tracy spends most of her time in Splatsville due to her job as a spy, so she probably misses Marooner tbh..

(Also if you’re curious, Hoover and Marooner are not actually related lol)

Childhood

I realize I forgot to mention this, but Marooner and Tracy are childhood friends, with them both bonding over their fascination with Inkfish and being somewhat outcasted by their peers for various reasons.

Although young Marooner thought the mysterious inkfish were cool, she always was (and still is) a bit afraid of them. This was probably not helped by young Tracy, who enjoyed scaring her friend with her stories.

Although Tracy is a bit of a habitual liar, she actually isn’t lying about this. She’s referring to some special weapons

Also ig secondary fun fact about Tracy: she was not born with her vibrant colors. She was actually born with pretty dull colors and gained her vibrancy as she aged.

Another extremely uninteresting and boring Toothpaste fun fact: she has thick eyebrows and I’m not entirely sure why

It’s intentional but I’m not sure when I decided to start consciously including it idk. I’ve drawn this character so much that she just has a bunch of random and kinda boring design details lol 💔
