OOOOOOoooo people are so messy and this fic is messy because of it. He's their little boy! Should they have known he was inpatient for a few weeks and then spent months traveling/hiding out of fear of people knowing why he was gone? Fuck yeah, they should’ve. But nobody ever thinks their kid could struggle mentally with something, if they didn’t. Ah, thank you for noticing that!!!! Bradley’s childhood was so loving, so soooo loving. But he also grew up in the shadow of his dead father and there was never an option for him to be anything else. Bradley does not have the nature to fly for the Navy. He only does what he does because he felt like he HAD TO. 🥺🥺🥺

He wanted to prove himself so badly. His mental health is absolutely garbage right now and yes, he fucked up by not reaching out to people who love him, to Jake — who would have been beside him every goddamn day for the weeks he was inpatient, then taken care of him after. But, it didn't fit the ideal he’s been striving towards his whole life.
