The end of your life: Criminal Minds Fan-Fic
Hey there. It has been a long time since I have written anything on Tumblr but I have been busy with my study abroad. Anyways, I recently watched episode 6 of Season 13 of Criminal Minds and came up with this mini version. SPOILERS (sort of) for those who haven’t seen the episode.
I am going to make up some of the names of the women as I can’t remember them all.
Reid entered the bunker. It was dark but large, and well built which seemed strange. JJ was still above the surface. She didn’t see Reid open the hidden entrance. As Reid was walking around the bunker, he heard a siren go off and there was a flash of red lights. He looked up and saw the camera attached to the wall.
Lawrence Coleman was watching him. “We’ve been breached”. He slammed down hard onto a red button. “No escape now”.
Reid was still exploring when he came across what looked like a large, glass corridor. He stepped inside it and with a quick click, two doors came out of nowhere and sealed Reid inside. He banged on the glass until he saw 3 women. He recognised them all. “Irene? Paige? Allie?”.
Allie stepped forward. “How do you know my name?”
“I’m with the FBI and we have been looking for you”.
Allie breathed a sigh of relief. “Get me out of here”.
“I will but I need the code”.
“Only Lawrence has the code,” said Irene as she smiled. Suddenly, the right side of the bunker lit up and Reid came face-to-face with loads of women and children. He recognised all of them from the missing cases. He couldn’t believe that these poor women had been living down here under the pretence that the world had gone and their loved ones were dead.
“Who are you?” asked one the women. Reid recognised her as Shannon.
“My name is Dr Spencer Reid and I am with the FBI. I came here to find you and take you home, all of you”.
“This is our home,” said another woman. Reid could see she was Georgia.
“No, this is a lie”. Reid felt sorry for these women who had been brainwashed and lied to.
“You’re a lie!” shouted a young brunette. Reid gasped.
“Chrissy?”
The brunette stepped forward, confused. “How do you know my name?”. Reid produced a photograph that JJ had given him.
“Your sister, Joanna, gave my colleague this photo”.
“Joanna?”.
“Yes, she is up there and she has been searching for you. She never stopped”.
“My sister is dead”.
“No...she isn’t”.
“Enough of your lies”.
“Okay, think about it. If the world has ended, how am I here?”
“From a survivor camp” replied Shannon.
“What, in his FBI gear?” said Allie.
“I even have my credentials to show you,” said Reid. He placed his hand into his pocket and pulled out his badge. He placed it against the glass. “See?” Georgia stepped forward and had a look. She gasped.
“Oh my god, that’s real! He’s real!”
Just then, Lawrence appeared on the other side of the glass. He walked towards the door.
“Let me out, Lawrence, it’s over,” said Reid. Lawrence smiled.
“Okay, so I lied. Big deal. The world hasn’t ended” said Lawrence as he placed his thumb on the keypad. He looked at Reid. “But yours is about to”.

Reunion?
There, standing on the platform, was Molly. Sherlock’s mouth fell open in disbelief. “Molly?”. Molly walked up to Sherlock and smiled.
“You don’t have to be lonely, Sherlock” said Molly. Sherlock quickly shook his head.
“I saw you get on the train”.
“I was on the train” explained Molly. “But, then I heard what you said so, I got off at the next stop”. Sherlock narrowed his eyebrows, confusion plastered over his face. Anderson stepped forward and waved his mobile in the air.
“I’ve got her number, remember?”. Lestrade looked at Anderson.
“Anderson?”. Anderson rolled his eyes and began to explain.
“Don’t look so shocked. Look, I called her while you were ranting and dancing”. Molly playfully punched Anderson on the arm.
“I thought it was a pocket dial”.
“That’s what I wanted you to think. But, I knew you would still listen to it”. Molly nodded and smiled.
“I am so glad I did”. She walked up to Sherlock. “So, is it true then?”. Sherlock raised his eyebrows and shrugged.
“Is what true?”. Molly grabbed Sherlock’s hands.
“Is it true that you, Sherlock Holmes, are in love with me, Molly Hooper?”. John nudged Sherlock forwards.
“Tell her” said John. Sherlock looked into Molly’s eyes and smiled.
“It is about as true as you, Molly Hooper being in love with me, Sherlock Holmes”. Molly smiled and flung her arms around Sherlock’s neck. Sherlock grabbed Molly and squeezed her harder than he had ever squeezed anyone before, as a tear ran down his cheek. John, Lestrade and Anderson threw their hands into the air and shouted hooray. Everyone turned to head towards the exit, when all of a sudden? A gunshot echoed throughout the station. This was then followed by a body falling, lifeless, to the floor.
This is the final part of my Sherlock Fan Fiction: A Taste of Loneliness.

Ah yes, Bruno Mars. This is a mish-mash of the lyric - Twenty four karat magic in the air, from 24K Magic.
Originally drawn by hand, on paper and then gone over using Microsoft Paint. Special effects (I guess), added using PiZap.

Not Just A Mistake But A Regret - Line Of Duty Fan Fiction - Part Two
This is part two of my fan fiction, based off of Series 4 of the BBC drama: Line of Duty. PART ONE HERE.
Steve wheeled himself into work. It had been just over two months, since that fateful night. Two months since he had sat with Sam and she had apologized for leaving him. Two months since Sam had asked for Steve’s forgiveness. Two months since…Steve had decided to give her another chance. As Steve went up in the lift, he reminisced about the conversation that had took place between him and Sam…two months ago.
‘Please Steve’ repeated Sam. ‘I’m sorry’. Steve pulled his face away from her hands.
‘But, how can I?’ said Steve. No, really. How can I? Steve shook his head. ‘No, no. I can’t’.
‘Yes, you can’ said Sam. Maybe there is a chance after all?
‘You’ll just hurt me again’ said Steve. Sam moved closer to Steve and grabbed his hands.
‘I swear to you Steve, I will never hurt you again’ said Sam. Steve pulled his hands away and wheeled his chair away from Sam.
‘I…just…no’ said Steve.
‘Okay’ said Sam. She got up from her chair and began to put on her coat.
‘What are you…?’ said Steve. Sam placed her bag onto her shoulder.
‘If you really don’t think you can give me another chance, then there is no point in me being here’ said Sam. She tucked her chair under the table. ‘So, I’m gonna go’. Sam walked up to Steve and bent down, so she was able to maintain eye-contact. ‘I will spend the rest of life, regretting ever leaving you’. Sam kissed Steve on the cheek and headed to the lift. Steve furrowed his brow as multiple thoughts entered his head.
‘Wait’. Sam stopped walking.
‘Pardon?’ said Sam. Steve turned his chair and began to wheel towards Sam.
‘Wait, don’t get in the lift’ said Steve.
‘Why not?’ said Sam, pressing the button. ‘You don’t want me, I see that now’. Sam stepped into the lift when Steve grabbed her coat and pulled her back.
‘You’re wrong’ said Steve. Sam turned to face Steve. What did he just say? ‘You’re wrong’ repeated Steve.
‘What?’ said Sam. She walked away from the lift and headed back over to the table. Steve wheeled over to her.
‘You’re wrong’ said Steve for a third time. ‘I do want you’. Sam jumped out of her chair and rushed over to Steve. She grabbed hold of him and began to give Steve a huge hug. ‘Wait, wait, wait’. Sam backed away.
‘What’s wrong?’ said Sam. Steve took a deep breath and looked up at Sam.
‘I might never walk again’ said Steve. Sam crouched down so that she was the same level as Steve.
‘And?’ said Sam.
‘I don’t want you to be stuck with me’ said Steve, as a tear rolled down his cheek.
‘I want to be with you’ said Sam as she wiped Steve’s face. ‘No matter what’.
‘Are you sure…I mean…’ said Steve. However, he didn’t get to finish his sentence as Sam planted a big kiss upon his lips.
‘I left you once before, I’m not going to do it again’ said Sam as she went in for another kiss. Steve pulled his face away. ‘What?’.
‘If we’re going to do this, we need to take it slow’ said Steve. Sam moved back and smiled.
‘Okay, so…we?’ said Sam.
‘Yeah…we’. Sam started to wheel Steve over to the lift.
‘We…sounds good’ said Sam. Steve smiled. ‘I missed that’.
‘Missed what?’ said Steve as he entered the lift.
‘You…smiling’ said Sam as she pressed the button. Steve moved his and up and touched his lips. My god, I’m smiling.
‘Yeah…me too’ said Steve.
DING
‘Is everything okay?’ said a voice. Steve then released he had reached the needed floor. And, the voice he had heard was DS Kate Fleming’s. Steve wheeled himself out of the lift. He headed over to his desk. Kate walked over to Steve and sat on the edge. ‘Hey’ said Kate.
‘Hey Kate’ said Steve. ‘How are you?’.
‘I’m okay’ said Kate. ‘What about you, that was one hell of a smile you had on, coming out of the lift’?’.
‘I wasn’t smiling’ said Steve. Kate raised her eyebrows and gave Steve a ‘really’ look.
‘Steve. You looked like the Cheshire Cat’ said Kate.
‘Oh. I was thinking of something funny, that’s all’ said Steve. Kate put her hands up.
‘Okay, okay. Don’t tell me’ said Kate. She stood up and headed to her desk. ‘I just hope she’s worth it’.
She is.
‘Sarge, I have some files for you’ came a voice from next to Steve. Steve looked up and noticed it was Tanja.
Oh yeah, in the past two months AC-12 had taken on some new recruits. There was DS Jamie Desford who had transferred from TO-2, PC Maneet Bindra who had transferred from SF-9, DS Tanja Jenkens from RC-24 and DS Sandra Willow from AC-3.
‘Thanks…Tanja’ said Steve, almost forgetting her name. ‘How are you settling in?’.
‘Everyone is so shut away’ said Tanja. Steve opened the top file.
‘Yeah, trust is a big thing here’ said Steve. ‘But don’t worry, you’ll get there’.
‘Thank you, Sarge’ said Tanja. She went and sat back at her desk.
DING DING
I miss you. Anything interesting happening? xxx
I miss you to. No, not atm. Just reading some files xxx
DING DING
Same here, how are you feeling today? xxx
Not too bad, you? xxx
DING DING
Yeah, I’m good xxx
Cool, look I love talking to you but I need to work. So, speak later xxx
DING DING
Okay babe. Have fun? LOL. Speak later xxx
‘Wow, someone’s popular’ said Kate, after listening to Steve’s text alert go off multiple times.
‘Huh…what?’ said Steve. Kate walked over to Steve.
‘You’ve got a little something on your face again’ said Kate. Steve looked at Kate, all confused. ‘You’re smiling’. Steve touched his face and sure enough, there it was. A big, fat cheesy grin. Well, another one.

Not Just A Mistake But A Regret - Line Of Duty Fan Fiction
This is part one of my fan fiction, based off of Series 4 of the BBC drama: Line of Duty. (which is a fantastic show and everyone should watch it).
There is a new blog dedicated to LoD Fan Fiction called: Lines of Duty. It is fresh and new and needs content. xx
DS Steve Arnott was sat at his desk, working late as usual. He rubbed his face and looked down at his legs. Steve then looked up, with tears in his eyes. He was afraid that the attack he sustained a few days earlier had left him wheelchair bound for life. He had been to the hospital but they couldn't give him a definite answer, just a case of wait and see. 'Wait and see?' said Steve. 'Wait and bloody see'. He looked at his computer screen. 'What are you hiding, DCI Huntley?'. Steve began to type away on his keyboard when he, suddenly, heard a noise. Steve paused for a moment, listening for signs of movement. After hearing nothing, he went back to typing.
Steve stretched his arms and turned his head, so his neck could crack. 'Oh, that's much better'. He then went back to typing before abruptly stopping again. Steve turned his head once more, just to make sure he wasn't imagining it. And, he wasn't. There, sat in the table, was a Lamb Madras. 'What the...?'. Steve used his hands to raise himself up and looked around the office, but there was no one there.
'Don't do that, you'll hurt yourself' said a voice. It came from the same direction as the Madras. Steve lowered himself down and turned his head again. There, sat at the table was DS Sam Railston.
'Sam?' said Steve. He was in shock. 'What are you...how did you...why are you?'.
'Because I needed to talk to you, without anyone else around' said Sam. 'And I knew you'd be working late'. Steve wheeled over to Sam. He placed his hands on the table
'Talk to me?' he said. 'It's been over a year'. Sam reached out to grab Steve's hand but Steve pulled it away.
'I missed you' said Sam. Steve scoffed.
'Really?' said Steve. 'Nothing from you for over a year and that's what you come out with?'. Sam went to speak but Steve stopped her. 'You left me, when I needed you the most'.
'But I...' said Sam.
'But nothing' interrupted Steve. 'I was at my lowest. I was scared. And what did you do?'. Steve beckoned Sam to answer the question. 'What did you do?'.
'I left' said Sam, tears filling up her eyes.
'You left' jeered Steve. 'And you sit there and have the audacity to tell me, you miss me?'. Steve wiped his eye.
'I'm sorry. I realize now, that was wrong' said Sam. Steve looked at her and shook his head. He placed his hands on his wheelchair and began to back away from the table. 'I have been meaning to talk to you for a long time' said Sam. Steve stopped moving and looked up at Sam once more.
'Meaning to?' said Steve.
'Yes. For ages, I have been meaning to' said Sam. 'But, I wasn't sure how to or what to say or...'.
'How about, sorry?' said Steve.
'Yes. Of course, I'm sorry but...'.
'No buts. Just sorry'.
'Steve, I...'. Steve wheeled his chair back to the table where Sam was still sat.
'Why did it take you so long to apologize to me?'.
'Because...because...because...I had to admit it to myself' said Sam.
'Admit it?' said Steve. 'Admit what?'. Sam looked at Steve.
'That I was wrong'.
'What?' said Steve, in disbelief.
'I kept telling myself that I did the right thing, but I didn't' said Sam. 'I never should have left you'. Steve ran his hands through his hair, in deep thought. He then tipped his head back and closed his eyes. Steve took a deep breath and opened his eyes. He looked back at Sam, who had tears streaming down her face.
'Is that supposed to make me care' said Steve, pointed to Sam's cheek. He leant in so that he was a few inches away from her face. 'Because it doesn't'. Sam wiped her face.
'When I heard that you'd been attacked, my whole world stopped' said Sam. 'I thought I'd lost you'. Steve leant back, so that he was sat upright in his chair.
'You have lost me' said Steve. 'A long time ago'.
'I mean, permanently' said Sam. 'Hearing what had happened made me realize that I still love you and that I needed to, at least try and patch things up'.
'Patch things up?' said Steve. 'Are you being serious?'. Steve wheeled over to where Sam was sat. 'You meant everything to me, and when the whole prison thing happened? I thought you were the one person I could count on. The one person who had my back, who would stick by me'. Sam grabbed Steve's hands.
'And I should've' said Sam. 'I regret it, everyday'. She placed a hand just under Steve's face, cupping his cheek. 'Please give me another chance?'. Steve looked into Sam's eyes. He could tell what she was saying was genuine as were her feelings but, he couldn't forgive her...could he?

Criminal Minds: Set Up - Second Thoughts?
Part Three of Criminal Minds Fan-Fiction: Set Up.
I guess, I should say spoiler warning. This is because there is a mention of what happened in episode 17 of Season 12.
(Keep scrolling for part two)
Frazier and Duerson walked over to where Reid was sat. “Well, well, well, did you not learn from the last time?”. Duerson cracked his knuckles. Reid looked up.
“Learn what?”. Frazier grabbed Reid by the collar of his shirt and forced him to stand up.
“Not to snitch, Snitch”. Reid shrugged Frazier off and turned to walk away.
“Wha...I had nothing to do with that”. Duerson blocked Reid’s escape. Reid turned to walk the other way but Frazier was stood there.
“Oh yeah…our shipment just, suddenly, became compromised?”. Reid looked at Frazier.
“Looks like it”. Frazier raised his eyebrows and punched Reid in the stomach.
“Do you think you're funny, Pretty Boy?”. Reid coughed but stood back up. He squared up to Frazier.
“I had nothing to do with your pathetic plan failing”. Frazier scoffed.
“What did you just say?”. Reid narrowed his eyes and tilted his head.
“You heard me”. Duerson tapped Reid on the shoulder. Reid turned around and was met with a fist, straight in his face, splitting his lip and giving him a black eye. Reid spat some blood onto the floor. “Is that all you've got?”.
“Oh, you want to dance?”. Frazier produced a knife, the same one he used to slit Luis’s throat. “Remember this?”. Reid looked down at the knife and jeered.
“Are you just going to talk...or will there, actually, be any action?”. Duerson grabbed Reid and held his arms behind his back. Frazier stepped towards Reid, the blade glistening in the light. Reid looked into Frazier’s eyes. “Go on then, do it”.
“Stop”. Frazier and Duerson turned to find Calvin Shaw standing in the doorway. “Let him go. He didn't snitch. It was Luis. The guards found his journal. Everything you had planned was written inside”. Frazier walked up to Shaw and an immense stare down ensued. Eventually, Frazier snapped his fingers and Duerson let go of Reid. Frazier and Duerson headed to the door. Frazier turned to face Reid.
“We'll get you next time, Pretty Boy”. Reid looked at Calvin.
“Come with me”. Calvin took Reid back to his cell. He sat him on the bed and pulled the cell door as shut as it could go. Calvin tugged the curtain across the entrance. He turned to Reid, who was acting like an angry teenager. He was sat with his arms crossed, biting the side of his cheek. “What the hell was that?”. Reid sneered.
“What was what?”. Shaw sat on the bed, opposite Reid.
“Do you want to, actually, make it to your trial? ‘Cause you need to stop pulling stunts like that”. Reid glared at Shaw.
“I wasn't pulling any stunts”. Reid made quotation marks with his hands as he said the word stunts. Shaw tilted his head, his face full of concern.
“You practically asked them to kill you”. Reid shrugged.
“And?”.
“Is...is that what…you want?”. Reid looked down. He was no longer full of anger. Shaw got up and sat next to Reid. He placed his hand on Reid's knee. “Spencer?”. Reid glanced up at Shaw. A single tear trickled down his face. All Shaw could see was someone who was broken. Broken and lost. “Well?”.
“I... I… don’t know”. Reid began to fiddle with his fingers. “Maybe? I just, I... can’t do this anymore”. Reid wiped his eyes.
“But, getting yourself killed?”. Reid placed his head into his hands.
“I know, it was stupid”. Reid moved his hands to the bottom of his chin. “I didn't kill Rosa. But, sometimes, I wish I had”. Shaw raised his eyebrows.
“What?”.
“I mean, maybe, it would make it easier…to cope. If, I knew I was guilty”.
“I see”. Reid sprung up and paced back and forth, in his cell.
“But I didn't and I'm innocent. And... it’s driving me crazy. I can't sleep. I've lost my appetite. I pretty much live on water these days”. Reid stopped pacing and learnt against the wall. He slowly slid down the wall, until he was on the floor. “And... I want it to stop. One way or another”. Shaw got up and sat next to Reid.
“But this isn’t the right thing to do. Think of your team”. Reid turned to face Shaw.
“They would get over me”. Shaw sighed.
“Reid”. Reid got back up and went over to his bed.
“But this?”. Reid clambered onto the bed. “Being in here, knowing I'm innocent? They’re going to always be trying to get me out. Wasting their lives, on me. I can't...I won't do that to them”. Shaw stood back up and pointed out of the cell, in the direction of Frazier and Duerson.
“So, that's the alternative?”. Reid glanced at Shaw.
“Looks that way”. Reid lay down and faced the wall. Shaw turned and left Reid's cell. He entered his own cell, which was next door and pulled the curtain across. Shaw got out a piece of paper and began to write.
To...
I don't think I can do this anymore. Spencer Reid is innocent, it's not fair.
Part Two of Criminal Minds Fan-Fiction: Set Up.
(Keep scrolling for part one)
Reid walked into the visitation room. He smiled as he spotted JJ sat at the desk. JJ took a deep breath.
“Hey, Spence. How you holding up?”.
“Oh, you know, how you’d expect”. JJ looked around at the other inmates.
“How are they treating you?”. Reid bit his lip.
“Fine. Again, how you’d expect given I’m a FBI agent in prison”. JJ tilted her head to the left.
“Are you okay? You look…different”. Reid gave a tiny shrug.
“Well, I probably look like a guy who’s been in prison”. JJ looked at Reid.
“Have you made any friends?”. Reid pointed to Shaw.
“Actually, yeah Calvin, Calvin Shaw”. JJ turned to look where Reid was pointing.
“The ex FBI agent?”. JJ turned back around, so she was facing Reid.
“Yeah, he’s sort of, taken me under his wing. Which is nice. I mean, I’m a FBI agent…in a prison full of people I helped put in here. Anyway, any word on Mr scratch?”. JJ shook her head.
“No, not yet. But we’re searching. Day and night. We will find him”. Reid closed his eyes, as to stop the tears from falling. After he’d composed himself, he opened them and looked at JJ.
“He’s going to get away with it, isn’t he?”. JJ sighed.
“Hey”. Reid scoffed. His eyes began to fill up with tears, once more.
“What? Don’t think like that? It’s going to be fine? How can you say that? The only reason you know I didn’t do this, is because you know me. But a jury and a judge? They’ll just look at the evidence and the evidence says throw the book at him. He’s a cold-blooded murderer. And without Mr Scratch? Or…anything? I’m going down for this, I know it”. Reid placed the palms of his hands over his eyes and wiped away the tears. He couldn’t let anyone see. Reid paused and stared at his bandaged hand. If I could just remember. JJ took a deep breath.
“Listen, look at me. Two things, okay? One, there’s not a chance in hell we’re going to let you go down for this. And two? We’re going to stop talking about that otherwise, I’ll get upset and that’s not a good idea in here”. Reid nodded.
“Well, what do you want to talk about?”.
“What did you do yesterday?”.
“I was going to play chess with Calvin”
“Was?”.
“Yeah, I…I’m not sure what happened but, I think I fell asleep…I’m not…”.
“Your hand”. Reid glanced at his bandaged hand. “It’s shaking”. Reid grabbed his hand, trying to stop it from shaking.
“No idea why”. JJ leant forward.
“It does that, when you’re trying to remember something”. Reid looked into JJ’s eyes.
“Well, I haven’t forgotten anything…recently”.
“You say you think you fell asleep”. Reid nodded.
“Yeah”.
“Talk me through exactly what happened yesterday”. Reid looked down at the desk. He began to twiddle his fingers.
“I went to Calvin and he…he…he told me to…to…to set up the chess board, while he went and got me a drink”. JJ raised her eyebrows.
“A drink?”. Reid continued to fidget in his chair.
“Yeah, he said I was dehydrated. Then he came back and he…he…”. Reid’s hand was shaking a lot. JJ placed her hand on top of Reid’s, to calm him down.
“Spence?”. Reid looked up at JJ.
“He gave me…something”.
“Okay”. Reid looked back down. JJ could tell, he was in deep thought.
“A book”. Reid nodded at JJ. “Calvin gave me a book. He told me, he needed to go to the toilet so, I should put that book in my cell”. JJ rubbed Reid’s hand.
“Did you do that?”. Reid raised his eyebrows.
“Yeah, I think so…”. Reid closed his eyes. “I can’t remember…I can’t remember…I can’t…”.
“Okay, what happened next?”. Reid opened his eyes. He looked at JJ.
“I woke up”.
“And it was morning?”. Reid gave a slow nod.
“Yeah”. JJ leant forward.
“Do you remember talking to Calvin, about anything?”. Reid bit his lip as he shook his head.
“Not really, should I?”.
“Do you remember hearing anything?”. Reid took a long pause. He was still shaking his head.
“No”. JJ leant back and smiled.
“Maybe you’re just tired, I’m glad you got some sleep”.
Visitation will end in 5 minutes. Reid looked at the clock.
“5 minutes. That’s all we’ve got?”. JJ gave a sad smile.
“Hey, I’ll come back”. Reid looked down. He could feel the tears building up again. Stay strong.
“I know…I know you will”. Reid looked at JJ and gave her a forlorn smile. “You’ll always come back JJ”.
“Listen, I said you won’t be alone in this. We will find Mr Scratch. It’s great that Calvin Shaw has taken you under his wing, that he’s protecting you. But it won’t be for much longer, we’ll get you out”.
Visitation is over.
JJ stood up so and pulled Reid in for a hug. He wrapped his arms around her. She could feel that he didn’t want to let go. JJ whispered in Reid’s ear. “Go back to your cell and sit there and try to remember all of yesterday”. JJ then moved away from Reid and smiled at him. He smiled back, a single tear falling down his face. Reid wiped his cheek.
“Say hi to Henry for me”.
“He asks about you every day”. Just then, the guard that doesn’t like Reid appeared. He grabbed Reid by the back of his shirt.
“Come on fed, visitation is over”. The guard proceeded to drag Reid out of the room.
“Bye Spence”. JJ got up and walked out of the prison. She got into her car and cried. She cried and cried. JJ took a deep breath and phoned Garcia.
“Hey you, how’s boy wonder?”. JJ rubbed her eyes.
“Um, I’ll tell you when I’m back. Can you do me a favour?”.
“Oh dear, and of course”.
“I need everything you have on Calvin Shaw”. JJ put on her seatbelt.
“The ex FBI agent?”.
“Yeah, he’s taken Spencer under his wing”. JJ placed her key into the ignition.
“Yay”.
“But, I’m not so sure it’s a good thing”.
Part One of Criminal Minds Fan-Fiction: Set Up.
Reid walked to Shaw’s cell. He could hear Shaw talking to someone. But who? Reid leans against the door, so he is hidden and peeks his head around the frame. He spots Shaw. He is talking to someone on the phone. Reid goes to walk away, as to give him privacy but he overhears his name.
“Yes, Spencer Reid. He has been moved into the cell next to me”. Reid decides to stay hidden and listen in as something doesn’t feel right. Shaw continues to talk on the phone. “I haven't…I haven’t got him to say anything yet but, I will. Don’t worry. Yes, I think he is might fall for it. I will get him to say it. By any means necessary”. Just then, some other inmates arrived. They were talking and making noise. “I need to go now. But, don’t worry Peter. It is going to be fine”. Reid walked up to Shaw’s cell. He needed to pretend everything was okay.
“Hey, who was…who was that on the phone?”. Shaw stood up and hid the phone behind his books.
“Oh, you know, people worrying about me. Like…family members. Anyway, what are you doing here?”. Reid looked down at the floor. He cleared his throat.
“We…we were going to play chess”. Shaw gasped.
“Oh yeah, I completely forgot”. He beckoned to Reid. “Well, come on in”. Reid entered the cell and sat on the bed. Shaw was lying under the bed, busy digging out the chess board. “Have you given any thought to what I said to you a few days ago?”. Reid nodded, even though he knew Shaw couldn’t see him.
“I understand that it could get me more respect and it would probably make my life a hell of a lot easier but, I can’t. I didn’t kill that doctor in Mexico”. Shaw slid out from the bed and placed the chess board on the bed. He stood up and brushed the dust off his shirt.
“So, you’re just…going to take all of the beatings? That are sure to come your way?”. Reid fiddled with his hands.
“I guess…it’s the best thing to do and I can just hope and pray that my team will find the true culprit and I’ll be out of here”. Shaw sat down on the bed, opposite Reid.
“Do you reckon they’ll find him?”. Reid sighed.
“Yeah I hope…I hope so”. Shaw stood back up. “What are you doing?”.
“Let me…let me go…and get you a drink”.
“Oh, no, I’m fine”.
“Please, you’re dehydrated”. Shaw pointed to the chess board. “Go ahead and set up, I’ll be right back”. Shaw left the cell. Reid smiled and began to set up the chess board. A few minutes later, Shaw arrived back with some water. But, before he entered the cell, he dropped some white powder into Reid’s cup and gave it a stir. “Here you go”. Reid looked up and found Shaw standing there, holding a cup of water. Reid took the cup from Shaw.
“Thank you”. Shaw began to dig through his belongings again. He handed Reid a copy of Brave New World. “Here’s a new book, by the way”. Reid put his drink down and took the book from Shaw.
“Hey thanks. I will…put it in my room later”. Reid placed the book, on the bed, next to him. Shaw walked back over to the entrance of his cell. He turned to Reid.
“Nah, you might as well do that now. I need to pop to the men’s room quickly”. Reid coughed.
“Okay yeah, I’ll do it now. Thanks…again”. Shaw smiled and left the cell. Reid got up and entered the cell next door. He began to feel light headed and dizzy. Reid sat down on the bed. He had felt this way before. It was after he was drugged. Reid tries to focus but he can feel his body going floppy. Knowing what has happened, Reid grabbed a pen and scribbled in the back of the book Shaw had just given him. ‘Calvin Shaw is involved. I heard him on the phone. He was talking to Peter. He drugged me’. Reid threw the pen far away and hid the book under his pillow, so Shaw wouldn’t find it. Reid stood up and headed to the entrance of his cell. There was a thud and Reid collapsed to the ground. Just then, Shaw reappeared.
“Right let’s play che…Reid?”. Shaw spotted Reid’s body, slumped across the floor. He entered Reid’s cell and picked Reid up. He placed him on the bed. “Hey, you should have just told me if you wanted to have a sleep”. Shaw stood up and peeked outside the cell. He looked around to make sure he wasn’t being watched or listened to and then, he sat on the edge of Reid’s bed. “Sorry I had to do that to you but, I couldn’t risk you overhearing my phone call. It would ruin the plan. You see, I have got a ticket out of here. Yes, it means screwing you over and that sucks because you’re a great guy, but I will never get this opportunity again. I must take it. Besides, if you do go down for the murder of that Mexican doctor? I don’t think you would survive one week. You’re fresh meat to these goons and I won’t be here to protect you, I’ll be free”.

Criminal Minds: Lasting Impressions
So, okay, this is dark. Sorry guys. But, I have had this idea bubbling around for a while now. I don’t want this to happen to Reid, check I don’t want any of what is happening to him to happen to him but, here you go. I would say enjoy but, I think that’s the wrong word to use 😕. TRIGGER WARNING: mention of rape. Sort of, it is subtle.
Reid was sound asleep, in his cell. He didn’t hear the door unlock or the three guys enter. They carefully picked Reid up and carried him away. When Reid awoke, he was lying on a bed with his arms tied behind his back.
“Morning, Sunshine”. Reid went to speak but found he was unable to. That’s when he realised he was gagged. Reid looked around, hoping someone would see him, hoping someone would save him. “It’s just us”. Reid looked straight in front him. Julio? This was the same man who had tried to attack him before but, Calvin had saved him. “No Shaw to save you this time”. How did he know what I was thinking? Reid began to wriggle, trying desperately to escape his restraints. “There’s really no point in doing that, this’ll be over soon”. Julio clambered onto the bed and straddled Reid. He lifted Reid’s head and removed the gag. “What…no genius words to be said?”.
“How did you get into my cell?”.
“Don’t worry your pretty little head about that”. Julio leant forward and looked into Reid’s eyes. “My, you are pretty”. He grabbed Reid’s hair and jerked his head to the side. Julio whispered into Reid’s ear. “I’m guessing you know what happens to pretty boys in here?”. Reid shuddered as Julio nibbled on Reid’s earlobe.
“Please…get off me”. Julio smirked as he undid his trousers. Someone, anyone, please help me. He shuffled forward so that he was positioned in front of Reid’s mouth.
“Now, are we going to do this the easy way or, pun intended, the hard way?”. Reid clamped his lips together as tightly as possible and shook his head. He looked at Julio. Please don’t do this. Julio raised his right eyebrow and laughed. He then pinched Reid’s nose shut. “You’ll have to open that mouth, at some point, to breathe. And when you do? I’ll be ready”. Reid knew he couldn’t hold his breath for much longer. A tear fell down his face. Just a little longer. Reid started to feel faint. He needed to breathe. Reid wondered if there was any way he could secretly breathe, without Julio noticing. His lungs felt so tight. He knew what was waiting for him but Reid couldn’t hold it any longer. He took an almighty gasp before choking. “Relax, I’ll go easy on you”. Julio began to rock back and forth. Reid could feel himself wanting to be sick. Was this really happening? Thankfully, it only lasted a few minutes. Julio pulled away from Reid. He grabbed an empty cup and placed it near Reid’s lips. “Don’t worry, you can spit…this time”. Reid threw up the contents in his mouth. He kept spitting. I need to get rid of it. All of it. One of the men left and came back with a green bottle. He handed it to Julio who, twisted the lid open. “Here you go, relax, it’s mouthwash”. Reid sat up, as much as he could and took a large gulp. He swished the minty liquid around his gums for what seemed forever before, finally, spitting it out into the cup. “Good boy. Now…turn over”. Reid’s eyes widened.
“Please don’t do this. Just beat me up. Black and blue”.
“Oh Spencer, I want to leave a lasting impression on you and bruises can heal”. Julio flipped Reid over. Reid struggled against Julio and the men who were holding him down. Within seconds, Reid felt a chill on the lower half of his body. “Relax, I’ll be gentle”. Relax? How can I relax when you about to…Reid didn’t get to finish this thought as he felt something enter him. “Ooh, you’re tight”. Reid began to weep. Julio wiggled around, trying to find the best position. Then without warning, he grabbed Reid’s arms and gave an almighty thrust. Searing pain shot through Reid’s body as he cried out. “Much better” snarled Julio as he began to, once more, rock back and forth. Each time felt worse than the last. Reid felt sick. Thankfully, again, it only lasted a few minutes. Julio gave a grunt before, finally, pulling out of Reid. Reid turned onto his side and curled up. His arms were still tied behind him. He spotted Julio, out of the corner of his eye. He was wiping himself. Reid closed his eyes. He could feel the contents of his stomach travelling up his throat. Julio stepped towards Reid. He walked over to Reid’s arms and untied them. Reid moved his hands in front of him and wrapped them around himself. Julio chucked Reid’s pants and trousers onto the bed. “Get dressed”. Reid slowly sat up. He was in so much pain. Julio headed to the door but stopped and turned to Reid. “Tell no one, you got it?”. Reid nodded. There was no way he would tell anyone. No one must ever know.

Criminal Minds: Set Up - Visitation
“Yeah, I think so...”.

Criminal Minds: Court Case
The team were all sat, in the courtroom, waiting for Reid. Suddenly, the doors opened and there he was. He was wearing a suit and handcuffs. His hand was still bandaged up from the cut. Reid was sat down and his handcuffs were removed. He turned to face his team.
“Eyes front” demanded the Judge. “Court is now in session”. Reid turned to face the judge. He could feel his eyes start to water. Stay strong. “Does the prosecution have an opening statement?”
A youngish looking female arose from her chair. “We do, your Honor”. She walked over to where they jury were. “This man claims to have been drugged while in Mexico” she began, as she pointed at Reid. “Who do I use the word ‘claimed’, you may ask?”. She walked over to Reid. “Because this man was found in possession of Class A drugs with intent to distribute”. Suddenly, the defence lawyer shot up.
“Objection!” she shouted. “This is just a rumour”. The judge waved his hand.
“I’ll allow it”.
“Fine” huffed the defence lawyer.
The prosecution smiled. “But this man is also here because, the person who he was meeting up with was found murdered”. She walked back over to her seat. “Oh” she continued. “And his DNA was all over the place, even on the murder weapon”.
Reid turned to his defence lawyer. “But, I swear Fiona, I didn’t kill her”.
Fiona stood up, and walked up to the jury. “My client has been wrongly accused of both charges”. “And today, you will get the truth”.
“Anything else?” asked the Judge.
“Not at the moment, your Honor”.
“Prosecution, your first witness please”.
The young girl stood up once more. “Well, considering there’s, really, only one witness, I would like to call…Agent Spencer Reid to the stand”. Reid stood up and walked over to the stand. He was given a book and told to pledge the oath.
“I, Dr Spencer Reid, swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God”.
“Is it true that you travelled to Mexico, unofficially?”. Reid nodded his head.
“Yes…and it was a stupid thing to do”.
“Well…so was murdering Nadia Ramos”.
“But…but I didn’t do that”.
“How can you be so sure?”. “I mean, you can’t remember anything”. Reid looked down.
“Because he doesn’t do things like that” shouted Garcia as, she leapt up from her seat.
“Order in my court,” the judge demanded. JJ grabbed Garcia’s hand and pulled her back down. The judge turned to the young girl.
“No further questions, your Honor”.
Now, it was Fiona’s turn. She knew Reid was innocent but how could she prove it?
“Dr Reid” began Fiona. “Why were you in Mexico?”.
“To help my mum” Reid replied.
“And your mum, she has Alzheimer’s yes?”.
“Yes”.
“Objection” announced the prosecution. “What does this have to do with the case?” The judge nodded his head.
“Agreed, what is the relevance of this?”.
“To give the jury some insight in Dr Reid’s life” replied Fiona. The judge sighed.
“I allow it…for now”.
“Thank you, your Honor”. “So, it’s fair to say, you would do anything for your mum?”.
“Always. I love her”.
“You own a gun, yes?”.
“I do for work”.
“Do you use it?”.
“I try not to”.
“Why is that?”.
“I don’t like to”. “I will always try to save the unsub rather than kill them”. “I don’t like to kill”. Fiona turned to the jury.
“Did you hear that?” she asked. “He doesn’t like to kill. And, what is another word for kill? Murder”.
“I didn’t do this. Any of it”. Reid turned to the jury. By now the tears he had been trying to supress, were starting to trickle down his face. “Please, you have to believe me”. The jury began to whisper amongst themselves. The judge banged his gravel.
“Order, order please”.
Fiona turned to the judge. “No further questions, your Honor”. Both Fiona and Reid went and sat back the down. Reid began to twiddle his fingers. He turned to face Fiona.
“They’re going to find me guilty, aren’t they?”. Reid sighed.
“Well” began the judge. “Considering there’s only one witness and both sides have spoken…court is adjourned so the jury can make a decision”.
The jury came back out in just under 30 minutes.
The judge spoke once the crowd silenced. “Members of the jury, have you reached a verdict?”
The jury spokesman stood and said: “Yes, your Honor, we have.”
Judge then asked, “Members of the Jury, on the Case of Dr Reid vs. Nadia, what do you say?”
The Jury Spokesman cleared his throat before pronouncing, “Your Honor. We, the members of this Jury, find the defendant Dr Spencer Reid…

Criminal Minds: Please Help Me
Again, I wrote this using Reid Reads as inspiration (check her out). I decided to try a fan fiction based on a song. Just like: -Photograph -Softly: part 1, part 2, part 3 💜 These are just a few of her works. She is so great 💜
I can fake a smile
I can force a laugh
I can dance and play the part
Reid was sat at his desk, staring into space. Morgan sat down on the edge of Reid’s desk
“Whoa. Kid, you alright?”. Reid looked up at Morgan.
“Yeah, I’m fine”. Reid raised his eyebrows. “Why?”.
“Well, you just jumped”.
“Well…that's because you made me jump”. Reid turned his head so, he was facing his computer screen. Morgan placed his hand onto Reid’s shoulder.
“Reid. Look at me”. Reid sighed and turned his head once more, this time so he was, once again, facing Morgan. “Are you okay?”. Reid rolled his eyes.
“You literally just asked me that…and my answer hasn't changed…”. Reid looked at his watch. “…in the last minute or so…”. Morgan sighed.
“You don’t need to bottle it up, Reid”. Reid gave a tiny scoff.
“Bottle what up? I’m not bottling anything up. I’m fine”. Reid placed his hands behind his neck and looked up at the ceiling. “If you could just, please, stop…asking me the same question? I’ll be even better”.
“Reid. What Tobias did to you”. Reid glared towards Morgan. “The torture? Making you choose? The drugs? Plus, you...you died Kid”. Reid clapped his hands together and then rested his head on them.
“I know, thanks for that…wonderful recap…of something that…I’m desperately trying to forget”.
“Reid?”. Once more, Reid glanced at Morgan. “You don't need to forget. You need to face it”. Reid gave a couple more scoffs. He played with his hands as he spoke.
“What’s there to face? I was kidnapped, held hostage and tortured for two days. Then, you guys found me and now I’m okay. I’m back, I’m here…working. Where I should be. Where I belong”. Morgan went and got his chair from his desk. He placed it next to Reid. He spun Reid’s chair so Reid was looking at him.
“You're not okay”. Reid ruffled his hair.
“No. Of course I’m not”. He made fists and proceeded to bang them together. “I mean, I’m not…not okay”. Reid shrugged his shoulders. “Clearly, you know me better than I know myself so, if I say I’m okay…that’s clearly, a lie…”. Reid rested his elbow on the desk and placed his head against his hand. His index finger was stretched out, pushing up the skin on his eyebrow. Morgan moved his chair closer.
“Reid...remember Elle?”.
“…right? I mean, I can't be okay”. Reid stopped talking and moved his head away from his hand. He replayed what Morgan had just said to him in his head. “Remember Elle? Yeah, I remember Elle. What’s she got to do…”. Reid started to shake his head in disbelief “…oh, I get it”. Reid turned and looked Morgan, directly, in the eye. “You think I’m going to do what she did? Well, new flash. Tobias is dead. So…I can't kill him”. Morgan rubbed his head.
“Reid, what you went through…”.
“-Let me stop you there”. Reid pointed to his chest. “What I went through”. Reid waved his hand. “What are you going to do? Another recap?”. Reid stood up and started to pack his things. “I don’t need reminding. I don’t need a recap. And, I don’t need to keep being asked the same goddam question repeatedly”. Morgan placed his hand on Reid’s arm.
“Kid?”.
“Over and over and over again…”.
“Spencer?”.
“…I just…BACK OFF DEREK. Reid threw his folders across the room. Morgan placed his hands up in front of himself.
“Whoa, okay. I’ll leave you alone”. Derek stood up and took his chair back to his desk. Then he went out the door. Reid, who was angry and annoyed, started to feel sad. He collapsed into his chair and closed his eyes. He could feel a single tear, running down his cheek. Reid opened his eyes and sighed.
“Shit”. He rubbed his eyes when suddenly, he felt a hand upon his shoulder. When he looked up, Reid noticed it was Emily.
“Spencer? Come with me”.
But I'm only human
And I bleed when I fall
I'm only human
And I crash and I break down
Reid entered the little room. Emily directed Reid to a chair. “Sit down”. Reid sat down and looked at the floor.
“I’m guessing you saw that?”.
“And, heard it”. Emily moved her chair so she was only a few inches away from Reid. “Listen, okay. Derek will understand”. Reid looked up and gasped.
“Hey, that's too close”.
“Nope, look at me”. Emily grabbed Reid’s hand. Reid looked at Emily, all confused.
“What are you…get off”. Reid began to try and pull himself free.
“Reid, listen to me. It's okay. Just, tell me how you're feeling”.
“What?”.
“It’s obvious, you're not okay or fine”. Reid sighed and looked up.
“Why does everyone keep saying that?”. Reid looked back at Emily. “I’m fine. Please, let go of me”. Reid keeps tugging at his arm, still trying to break free.
“Reid, look at me”. Reid starts to get agitated.
“Let go. I’m fine”.
“No, you're not, Reid”.
“Emily”. Reid started to feel anger, boiling up inside of him.
“Spencer. Dr Spencer Reid…look at me”
“NO. Now, let…me…go”. Reid managed break free but, in the process, he smacked Emily across the face. “Emily...I…”. Emily looks at Reid while holding her cheek. She flicked her hair out of the way and headed to the door.
“Okay, I get it”. She opened the door.
“Emily…wait”. But all Reid could do was watch Emily leave the room.
I'm only human
I'm only human
Just a little human
Reid was paralysed with shock but, he could feel tears streaming down his face. As soon as was able, Reid turned and headed out the door. He walked straight to Gideon’s office. Reid noticed the door is ajar so, he pushed it open.
“Can I help you?”. Reid noticed there was a woman sat with Gideon. It looked as though they were having a meeting. But, he didn’t care. This needed sorting.
“Sorry, but I need to talk to Gideon”.
“Well, it’ll have to wait”. Reid walked into the office.
“No”. The woman got up and walked over to Reid.
“I’m sorry?”. Reid coughed and cleared his throat.
“No…ma’am”. It…it can’t wait. Please, I need to speak to him”. The woman tutted.
“We’re in the middle of a meeting”. She turned to Gideon. “Jason, are all of your agents this rude?”. Gideon stood up and picked up the woman’s belongings. He then past them to her.
“Listen, Candice. We’ll have to reschedule”. The woman took her bag and gasped.
“What?”. Gideon sighed.
“None of my agents are rude. So, for Spencer to be doing what he is doing, there must be a reason behind it”. Candice scoffed, in disbelief.
“Are you really blowing me off for some…employee?”. Gideon stared directly into Candice’s eyes.
“He’s not an employee, he’s my friend and he needs me”. He directed Candice to the door. “I’ll call you, with a date”. Gideon held out his hand, so Candice could shake it. “Thank you for coming”. Candice turned to Reid.
“This had better be worth the interruption”. Candice walked out of the room, in a major huff. Gideon shut the door and beckoned Reid to sit down. Reid sat in the chair and looked at the floor.
“I’m sorry”. Gideon sat back in his chair, opposite side of the desk, in front of Reid.
“What’s wrong?”. Reid looked up, with tears in his eyes.
“Everything. Everything is wrong. Tobias…I thought I had dealt with it, that I was dealing with it. But, I’m not”.
“Reid?”. Reid put his hands into his bag and pulled out a vile. Reid leant forward and placed it on Gideon’s desk.
“Please, take this”. Gideon picked up the vile and looked at the label.
“Diladid?”. Gideon tilted with head, his face full of concern. “Please, tell me. You haven't been taking this?”. Reid started to shake his head. His face was wet with tears.
“I’m so sorry”. Gideon’s expression changed from concern to disbelief and shock.
“Are you stupid?”. Reid gently bit his lip, trying to stop it quivering.
“I’m sorry. I ended up addicted to it, after Tobias kept drugging me”. Gideon got up and crouched down in front of Reid.
“Spencer, look at me”. Reid closed his eyes. He felt so ashamed. Gideon placed his hand upon Reid’s and repeated. “Spencer…”. Reid looked up. All Gideon could see was the sadness in his eyes. All that was sat in front of him was a broken, young man. “Where did you get it?”. Reid fiddled with his fingers
“When you left me with the body, I…”.
“You took it?”. Gideon stood up and rubbed his chin. “Oh, Spencer…”. Reid shot up in exasperation.
“I know it’s…it’s bad. I…I tampered with evidence. I’m a…a drug addict. I shouted at Morgan. I hit Emily. I just…”. Gideon put his hand up as to stop Reid talking but, Reid didn’t notice as he had begun to frantically pace across the room.
“Wait, back up. You did what?”.
“It just… it helped me so much. It got…rid of the pain and helped me to sleep and…”. Gideon tried to speak to Reid again.
“Spencer, what do you mean you hit Emily?”.
“But when…I’m not taking it? I’m irritable and snappy and violent and…”. Gideon grabbed Reid.
“Reid. Stop.”. Reid realised he had been pacing and sat back down. Gideon walked to his desk and wheeled his chair so he was in front of Reid.
“Sorry”. Gideon sat down and leant forward.
“What do you mean, you hit Emily?”. Reid started to well up, once more.
“I would like to say, I didn't mean to…but I’m not sure that’s the truth”. Gideon placed his hand on Reid’s knee.
“What happened?”. Reid took a deep breath.
“After I shouted at Morgan, Emily took me to a small room. She sat me down and grabbed my hand. She wouldn't let go and she kept asking me to tell her the truth”.
“The truth about what?”.
“About me being ‘okay’. I just…I got so angry and worked up and I wanted her off me. I kept trying to pull away but she held on tight. The next thing I know? I had broken free but, in doing so, I had struck her across the face”. Gideon leaned back in his chair. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Reid started to tremble. He looked down at his hands. “I’ve never hit anyone…in my entire life”. Gideon sat back up.
“What did you do after?”. Reid shrugged his shoulders.
“I…I just…froze”. Gideon raised his eyebrows.
“Did you say sorry?”. Reid started to shake his head.
“I tried but, the words wouldn’t come out”. He wiped his eyes.
“Have you seen her?”.
“No but, she was bleeding when she left. I think I split her lip open”. Reid covered his head with his hands. “I thought I was coping. I really thought I was dealing with it. But if this is me dealing with it? Then I don’t want to anymore. I don’t this to be me. I don’t want to be like this. I know…I’ll never be the same again but, please help me”. Reid started to rock in his chair, tears streaming down his face. “Please help me, please help me, please help me”.

Criminal Minds: The Decision
Well, this is slightly different than how I am used to writing. My inspiration for this is from a new blog that I am following - Reid Reads. She is amazing and you should, definitely, check her out.
TRIGGER WARNING? I think. I am not sure. But, there are mentions of being beaten, stabbed and a small talk of cancer.
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
A shiver travels up your spine. Gah, that is cold. You wrap your arms around yourself, to lock in the heat. You look around your surroundings. Where am I? You notice there is a figure lying in the bed, across the room. I’m in a hospital. It is hard to tell who it is, they are black and blue with bruises and there appears to be a range of wounds covering every part of skin. Not to mention, the numerous IV drips and tubes coming out of the body. You head towards the figure to get a closer look but, then, suddenly the door crashes open and Spencer Reid appears. He stops in the doorway, frozen by what he sees in the bed.
“Oh, my god, Y/N”. He walks over to the bed, his eyes filling tears. “Look at you”. He grabs the chair and pulls it closer to the bed. “I would say you’re a mess but even like this, you’re still so beautiful”.
Y/N? But that’s me. You walk up to the figure and that’s when you spot it. There on the left hand, middle finger. The ring that your mother gave you, before she had passed away. Oh my god. Just then, you come over all dizzy and collapse to the floor. You start to remember. It is all coming flooding back.
You were on a case, chasing the unsub. Well, I say remember. He knocked you out so, you can’t remember much but, you can remember some things such as the uncontrollable rage the unsub had as he beat you. First with his fists and then he began to kick. You are sure that he used a bat at one point. Blow after blow, you could hear your bones crunching and when that wasn’t enough? He stabbed you. Over and over, each wound deeper than the last. You remember wanting to shout but, not having the energy. You remember your eyes beginning to close and your body beginning to shut down. You remember wanting it to stop, one way or another. You remember the door being kicked in and the team piling in.
“Put that weapon down right now” shouted Luke.
“Hands where we can see them” demanded Rossi.
You remember looking up. He was a site for sore eyes…Spencer.
“We need a medic”. That is all he kept saying. “We need a medic, we need a medic”. You remember how he held you close and whispered for you to hang on. The last thing you heard before passing out? Was Spencer, “I can’t go through this again”.
The next thing you know, you are sat in the corner of a hospital room watching yourself. But how can you be in the bed but also sat here? You stand up and walk to the bottom of the bed, you can see Spencer. He is crying. How can you be watching this? Oh god, was this it? Is this what happens when people know they’re going…to pass on?
Days went by but, Spencer never left your side. Not once. JJ appeared, like she did every day. She places her hand on Reid’s shoulder.
“Spence, why don’t you go home? I can stay with her”
“No”.
“Come on, you need to sleep”
“No”. You feel a weird sensation on your arm. When you look up, Spencer is rubbing you. “I can’t lose her”.
“And you won’t”. Spencer looks up at JJ.
“You don’t know that. I mean this has happened before”.
“Before...she isn’t Maeve, Spence”.
“I know that but, an unsub killed Maeve. Just like an unsub is going to kill Y/N. I can’t go through that again”. Spencer turns to face you. “Please wake up”. Spencer grabs your hand and squeezes it. “Please”. You walk over to Spencer and place your hand on his. I don’t want to but I’m so tired.
“Spence?”
“I love her, okay?
What did you just say?
“I tried so hard not to. I didn’t want to put her life at risk. Things always happen to people who I hold dear and…and I just…”.
“Spence, that is wonderful”. You back away from Reid, in shock at what you just heard.
“Is it? Look what me loving her has done”
You love me?
“Reid, you didn’t…”. Reid picks up your hand and places his lips to it. He gives you a gentle kiss.
“It should be me in this bed”.
“Why?”
“I don’t know. I would rather it be me in pain, instead of her. She doesn’t deserve this. If she dies…what am I going to do?”
What are you going to do? What am I going to do? You love me? Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited to hear you say that? And now you say it? Now? When I’m teetering on the edge of life, now you tell me you love me?
“Hey listen, Y/N is going to be fine. History won’t repeat itself”.
“It already is”.
“Spence”. You can feel tears falling down your face. You love me? I never told you because, I didn’t believe you would be interested in someone like me. I mean you’re funny, clever, witty, kind and so handsome. You’re a dream come true, the perfect boyfriend.
“Well, it would assume you have a decision to make, my child”. You turn to see where that voice is coming from. There standing in the corner, is a figure. You recognise the flowing hair. Mum?
“Hello, Y/N. Oh, look at you. Such a beautiful young woman”
What are you doi…?
“I’m so very proud of you, dear”. Your mother walks up to you and grabs your hands. “I’ve been watching you. Seeing you graduate to the FBI was so wonderful”
You saw that?
“And watching you apprehend your first unsub, it was spectacular”.
What? She pointed to Spencer.
“And this handsome, young lad? I just wanted to bash your heads together”.
You did?
“You clearly like one another. But, I understand the dilly dallying. You both have tragic pasts”.
Why are you here?
“Ah yes. Well, I was meant to help you cross over, so to speak but, I can’t…take you away from all of this. That would make me a bad mother”. You hug your mother.
Oh, nothing could make you a bad mother. Your mother tilts your head up and looks you in the eye.
“Y/N. Leaving you was one of the hardest things I ever had to do but, you see I had no choice. The cancer had riddled my bones. Nothing could save me but, you my dear, you do have a choice”.
But I am exhausted. Your mother strokes your hair.
“Then sleep for a while my child, but don’t let this be the end. Wake up and grab that young man and tell him of how you want a future with him…”.
Mum? Your mother starts to twirl around the room.
“…Children and grandchildren and great grandchildren”. She stops and stands still. “And then, when you are old and have lived life to the fullest, I will return and take your hand. But, not now, not like this”.
I am so weak, mum.
“I can’t make you stay, that is your choice. But, I’m not going to be the one to take you away”.
Mum?
“Time to decide my child but, remember no matter what you choose? I’ll always be with you”.

Criminal Minds: Set Up
Reid was sat in his prison cell, crying. They found me guilty. He was struggling to come to come to terms with everything that had happened. Not to mention, everything that was going to happen next.
You have a visitor.
“I said no visitors, I want to be alone.
It’s a Mr David Rossi.
“Tell him to go away”.
He is adamant he must see you. Reid rubbed his eyes.
“Fine, send him in”. “But, I don’t want to talk for long”. Just then, the door creaked open and Rossi entered. Reid was holding his head down so Rossi couldn’t see him crying. “What do you want? I said no visitors” explained Reid. “It’s over”.
“This has turned out better than expected, Spencer-reeno”. As soon as Rossi spoke, Reid looked up as he knew that voice. And he knew it wasn’t Rossi after all. He turned his head and gasped.
“No. It can’t be” said Reid. “You?”. As soon as he said this, Reid was hit with a sudden realisation. “You did this?”.
“Guilty” fake Rossi replied. “Sorry, you’re probably tired of hearing that word”. Reid began to well up. “This whole this is, can I say delicious? Well, I’m going to anyway” announced fake Rossi. “This whole thing is delicious”. Fake Rossi got up and sat nearer to the bars on Reid’s cell. “I really thought your team would find evidence to help you” he explained. Fake Rossi laid down on the floor. “And, I never foretold you’d be found guilty. Never”. Reid wiped away a tear and moved closer to the edge of his cell.
“Why?” asked Reid. “You toyed with the others but, you’ve put me to death”. Reid took a large breath. “Why?”. Fake Rossi sat back up and looked at Reid.
“Well, that wasn’t my intention” retorted fake Rossi. “I just wanted to mess with you”.
“Well, you’ve certainly done that”. Fake Rossi reached into his pocket and pulled out a memory stick. He waved it in Reid’s face.
“You see this?” he explained. “Everything you need to set you free is on here”. Reid focused on the memory stick.
“What?”.
“You didn’t do this, Spencer” clarified fake Rossi. “Yes, you were drugged but, only to give you a good night’s sleep. Nothing more. Apart from the memory wipe”. Reid made a grab for the memory stick but, fake Rossi dodged his grip. Reid pointed to the memory stick his eyes, once again, filling with tears.
“That will set me free?” asked Reid. Fake Rossi twiddled the memory stick in his fingers.
“Yes” replied fake Rossi. “Question is…do I hand it in now?”. Fake Rossi stood up and placed the memory stick, back into his pocket. “Or…do I sit there, in that room, and watch them give you that final, lethal injection and then hand it in?”. Reid stood up and held onto the bars. He pushed his face as far through the bars as it would go. He could feel tears running down his face, but Reid didn’t care.
“Please” he begged. “Please don’t do this. I don’t want to die. Especially if, I am innocent”. Fake Rossi sat on the bench and smiled.
“Now Dr, you’ll have to do better than that” he vindicated. Fake Rossi stood up, again, and walked over to Reid. He grabbed Reid’s hands and placed them together. “Beg”. Fake Rossi forced Reid to kneel, by pulling his arms down.
“Please. I don’t want to die” begged Reid. By now, his shirt was sodden with his tears.
“Why don’t we try again?” said fake Rossi. “But, this time? Use my name”. Fake Rossi stood up and placed his foot through the bar. “And kiss this”. Reid looked up and shook his head.
“Please…I don’t want to” he said.
“Fine” replied fake Rossi and he headed to the door.
“Wait” shouted Reid. He took a long breath. “I’ll do it”. Fake Rossi grinned and walked back over to Reid. He stuck his foot back through the bars.
“Well?” said fake Rossi. Reid looked up.
“Please” he began. “Please don’t do this…Mr Scratch”.
“And…” said Mr Scratch. He wiggled his foot. “Kiss it”. Reid knelt forward and placed a small kiss onto the edge of Mr Scratch’s shoe. He gagged due to his OCD and wiped his mouth. “Much better”. Mr Scratch knelt and put his hands through the bars. He grabbed Reid’s chin and tipped his head up, so that he could look Reid in the eye. “I’ll have to think about it” he explained. As he pulled his hand away, Mr Scratch wiped away some of Reid’s tears and licked them off his fingers. He stood back up and headed to the door. “I mean, it’s such a big ask”. Reid looked down at the floor, in disbelief. Mr Scratch buzzed the door. “Oh, and feel free to tell your team” he verbalized. “I mean it won’t change anything”. He reproduced the memory stick from his pocket. “They still need this” he said, waving the memory stick around. The guard opened the door. Mr Scratch turned to Reid. “You know something?” he said. “You’re my favourite project”. And with that, Mr Scratch left. As soon as the door was shut, Reid broke down. Mr Scratch is the only one, who can save me now.

Criminal Minds: False Memories
Spencer Reid had just put his mum to bed. He turned off all the lights and checked all the doors. Then, he clambered onto the sofa and closed his eyes. Reid was so tired that, within seconds he had fallen asleep. Suddenly, the apartment door handle began to wiggle. There was a slight squeak as the door was pushed open. A figure entered the residence. It was Peter Lewis, better known as…Mr Scratch. He walked up to Reid, who was still asleep. “Well well well, look what we have here” he said. “A sitting duck”. Mr Scratch crouched down so, he was eye-level with Reid. He took a deep breath. “So, managed to get rid of the memories from last time…eh?” he questioned. Mr Scratch narrowed his eyes. “But this time? You won’t be so lucky”. He reached into his pocket and produced a vile. He held it up, as if to show Reid; who was still asleep. “See, what I have here Dr” explained Mr Scratch. “Will make you putty in my hands”. Mr scratch smiled evilly as he opened the vile and emptied some of its contents into Reid’s mouth. “Drink up”. He tilted Reid’s head back so the liquid could travel down his throat. No sooner had Reid swallowed it, the foul taste woke him up. Reid still had blurry vision but he could see a shadow in front of him.
“Mum?”
“Good morning”. Spencer gasped. He knew that voice. But it couldn’t be…could it? He rubbed his eyes so he could see again. There, standing in his living room, was Mr Scratch.
“Wha…what are you doing here?” asked Reid. He started to feel dizzy. “Wha…what have you done?”
“No point fighting” explained Mr Scratch. “Just go back to sleep”. Reid began to wave his head around, like a rag-doll. His whole body started to go floppy and his eyelids began to close. “I’m giving you a new memory” hissed Mr Scratch. “One that can’t be erased”. Reid fought to keep himself awake. He knew it was the only way of making sure whatever Mr Scratch had given him, wouldn’t take effect. Mr Scratch started to get frustrated at Reid’s defiance so, he grabbed him by his hair and flung his head backwards. He then sat on Reid and forced the vile into his mouth. Mr Scratch stayed there and held it tightly, with Reid trying to throw him off, until every drop had been swallowed. Within moments, Reid was unconscious. “Finally” said Mr Scratch. “Now, time for the fun part”.
He placed his hand over Reid’s nose and mouth and began to suffocate him. After some time, Reid woke up. He was desperately gasping for air. He looked at Mr Scratch but, didn’t see him. Instead? He saw his mother. Reid began grasping and scratching at the hand, trying to remove it. He even tried to shout mum stop but, it was no use. Reid could feel his body weakening and his breaths got shallower and shallower and shallower until…
“There we go”. Mr Scratch picked up the vile and placed it, back, into his pocket. “You have a nice sleep”. He checked to see if Reid was still breathing. Mr Scratched headed to the door. He turned and looked at Reid. “Say hi to your mum for me”.
A while later, Diana awoke from her nap. She entered the living room where she found Reid, still asleep. She shook him and told him to wake up now but she got no answer. So, she did it again. Still nothing. Diana started to panic… why couldn’t she wake Reid? Then she had an idea. She went and got a cup of water from the kitchen. Diana rushed back into the living and threw the cup’s contents all over Reid. He awoke at once, spluttering. “There we go” said Diana. She sat down next to Reid. Reid pulled his legs close and moved to the other side of the sofa. Diana placed her hand near Reid.
“Get away from me” said Reid, as he curled himself up.
“What?” replied Diana. Spencer scoffed.
“Oh of course, you don’t remember”. Diana looked at Reid, a puzzled look upon her face.
“Spencer. What are you on about?” she asked.
“Really? You’ve forgotten that quickly?” retorted Reid. “What a coincidence”. By now, Diana was very confused by Reid’s behaviour.
“Please, tell me what’s wrong” she requested. Once again, Reid scoffed.
“Oh, it was wrong alright” he replied. Diana moved closer to Reid.
“What was?”
“What you did, well try to do” explained Reid, as he got up and went to his desk.
“What?” said Diana, she headed over to where Reid was now sat. she placed her hand onto his shoulder. Reid shot out of his seat.
“You tried to suffocate me mum” he shouted, tears in his eyes. Diana froze with shock.
“I…I…” she stuttered. Reid went and sat back on the sofa.
“What you’re sorry?”
“No…I…are you sure it was me?” asked Diana, desperately trying to remember what had happened in the last couple of hours.
“Well who else lives here and looks like you” replied Reid. He pointed to the bedroom. “I think you should go back to your room”.
“Spencer…” said Diana. She held her arms out, as if expecting a hug.
“Now mum. I need to be alone”
Diana did as she was told, still confused by what she was being accused of. She entered the bedroom and shut the door. Reid looked up at the ceiling and began to cry.
Outside, safe in his car, Peter Lewis was listening to the chaos he had caused. He put his seat-belt on and started his car. “That was only the beginning” Mr Scratch announced as, he drove off into the distance.
