This was supposed to be only a doodle before bed but end up making 4 variants of the concept art of the Liquid Samurais.

Also while making this, got an idea of mixing the concept and the final design.

(Bought the SK artbook and when I saw their concept I needed to draw it)

Two of the most popular Superheroes in the entire world are themed after a Spider and a Bat respectively, so people in with Fursonas defending the helpless feels pretty on-point

my friend just asked me if I knew about the furry violence case and didn't reply when I asked him which one so I went to look it up and I guess not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they wear their fursonas???????????????

A couple of friends have been getting me into the setting of Warhammer 40k, and while it’s got… a LOT of issues (trust me, there’s a lot of problems with 40k both in and out of the setting), I gotta admit I’m having fun. Just one small issue though, one of my favorite parts of the setting is HIGHLY underrepresented in… pretty much everything.

And that iiiiiis!!… the Abhuman races! Long story short, these guys are 40ks way of getting typical fantasy (Warhammer Fantasy or just generic fantasy stuff) into the setting of the 41st millennium without there being dozens upon dozens of ‘aliens’ that are just straight up humans… in theory anyways.

Yeah, as it turns out though, while a few of them have gotten decent-to-good rep in various pieces of media and the Tabletop, waaaaaaaay more haven’t even gotten official designs for crying out loud!

So I decided to take it upon myself to start sketching them out myself. From left to right, so far I’ve sketched:

-A regular human guardsman (Homo Sapiens)

-An Ogryn (Homo Sapiens Gigantus)

-A ‘Ratling’ (Homo Sapiens Minimus)

-A Leagues of Votann Kin (Homo Sapiens Rotundus)

-A Beastman loosely based on the Fellgor versions (Homo Sapiens Variatus ‘Capra’)

-A Navigator (Homo Navigos. Weird that they drop ‘Sapiens’ in their name)

-A NightSider, whom lack ANY official art (Homo Sapiens Tenebris)

-An original Beastman design based more on Rams and more human-like Satyrs (Homo Sapiens Variatus ‘Ovis’)

-And a Chaos Beastman based on the dudes from Blackstone Fortress

Now after these guys I’m pretty much in ‘has NO official art of them’ territory, so future additions get to basically look entirely original. Maybe I’ll take some inspiration from some of the more common fan design tropes like with the Felinids, but buy-n-large I get to be creative with their designs from this point forward

A He-Man redesign, a cosmic ship heavily influenced by the Edge Chronicles’ Skyships, a little PNGTuber for myself, some bootleg Mario designs, Markiplier reacting to Freddy Fazbear in his Iconic Freddy FazTank, and an unfinished redesign of Teela (who is from He-Man)

The finest £10 I've spent so far this year has been on The Excavation of Hob's Barrow, a brilliant and evocative point-and-click folk horror game. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure we need another Wicker Man replica, where enlightened city folk arrive in an isolated rural community of amiable and dotty locals and become the unwitting victim of a malevolent plot, etc., but I'll make an exception for this one because it's so beautifully executed and, well, eerie.

Ok, wow... so uh first off, I just wanna say thank you to literally every-fucking-one of you who liked or reblogged, cause hot damn that’s a lot of notifications I’ve been getting!! This piece got waaaaaaay more attention than I really anticipated it would, and all of you have been so kind too! AAAAAAHHHH, just thank you all so much, that’s really really nice of all of you!!!! 💚 And second off, while I feel a little awkward about doing this, I am gonna shill a little here (sorry). I’ve got commissions open for little sprites in the exact same style as these ones (and others too), so if you’re wanting to get one made for your own characters or get a piece made to commemorate a DnD group, than I’d love to make some pixels for ya! Just hit up my DMs if you’re curious and I’ll go over it with ya :D (I’m not sure if it’s taboo to advertise under pieces ya make here, but I’m gonna do it anyways since it’s my art).

Also, got more CR sprites coming up, I’m just working my way through Campaign 1 at the moment too so it’s a little slower going. No way I’m stopping with just the cast of Vox Machina (just starting with them first).
