merlin but merlin thinks that arthur knows about his magic and that he isn’t mad <33333
and that they have a running joke about merlin ‘hiding’ his magic in dumber and dumber ways
like merlin comes with worse and worse stories to cover up his magic because he thinks arthur already knows but obviously they cant openly discuss it because like uther so theyre both just laughing in their head
arthur, on the other hand, is completely clueless about merlin’s magic
/
merlin at some point after uther’s death: remember when we had everyone believing i didnt have magic through really dumb reasons and they just bought it ??? like we’d come up with the stupidest excuses and theyd just believe it??? lmaooo good times
arthur, who still didn’t know about merlin’s magic, inwardly: W H A T ? ? ?
arthur, who would kill himself before letting merlin know that he’s that stupid: yeah lmao good times, ppl are so clueless *nervous sweating*

The best supporting actor award for Young Royals goes to
👑Wilhelm's Desk👑

This desk has supported Wilhelm when he was having a breakdown. It supported Wilhelm when he was being dragged away. And it supported Wilhelm when he needed to pin down Simon so that he can eat his face. Top tier quality desk, I tell you. They need to let us know the brand. Who am I kidding, it's probably IKEA!

The true AO3 experience is trying to remember a very specific fic you read some time between 2013 and 2019 but you can only remember two of the characters, a vague idea of the plot outside of one specific scene, and you have no clue what the tags could have been.

I find it odd that I can write a whole fic in English, no problem. But writing one sentence in Swedish in my fic makes me nervous wreck. Why do I find it odd?
Because...
Confession time! I've studied Swedish from the first grade. I passed my student exams in advanced Swedish with good grades. I studied in a trade school where part of the lessons were in Swedish. I've read books in Swedish. I watch news, read headlines and social media posts every day in Swedish! I talk Swedish with customers at least twise a week.
But still, when I’m supposed to write something in Swedish all I can think of is a line from my old Swedish text book: "Pompe ser ut som en liten korv".

My Professor: “The author used superfluous words here. Don’t do that in your own essay. Know your audience. When was the last time you used the word, “pine”, as in to long for, in an everyday sentence?”

Also, they are KIDS! Like c'mon! How would have you acted in the situation when you were 16?
I've seen way too many tweets like this lately, and it's making me upset. What are your thoughts about this?

My short answer is that people are way too hard on Wille.
The long on is also that people are too hard on him.
My biggest issue is that some people completely disregard the circumstances of Wille's situation.
Acting as if Simon had to forgive Wille for not being ready after their first kiss and pushing him away actually pisses me off the most. I understand it hurt Simon but please give him a break. He took a couple of days to come to terms and if you can't give him that?
And then Erik died after they had just been together for a little while. I understand that Simon felt confused and hurt but people act as if Wille just came out of no way with his break up. He waa litterally heartbroken and his whole world had fallen apart.
I don't understand what it was for Simon to forgive in these situations? Or I guess I understand where people are coming from but I think they are being way too harsh in those situations.
Simon is not a little snowflake which leads me to the other thing I think people are way too hard on Wille for.
Their fight in the Piano room.
I've seen alot of comments on how Wilhelm acted in that scene but no one ever talks about Simon's.
Now I'm not saying Wille was innocent, far from it. He was a bit judgemental of Simon when he found out Simon dealed. While he took them. Maybe he shouldn't act so high and mighty about Simon dealing...
But Simon sold the drugs. He stole drugs from his father and dealed them. There's no way around it. Yet people act as if he's completely innocent. Simon also takes zero responsibility for it.
I've also seen comments that Wille wants Simon to go down for it in order to protect himself. That's not what happened. I agree that it seemed like he really didn't care what happened to Simon but he literally said he didn't want Simon to take the blame. He was open with Simon, but Simon felt hurt which is very understandable and therefor he told Wille to fuck up and let Wille deal with it on his own despite him definitely being involved and definitely being in trouble for dealing. Had the truth come out he would have been in big trouble.
Then he got pissed at Wille for solving it even if he offered no help and just acted as if it wasn't his problem. He was just as involved as Wille IMO.
Wilhelm came off as judgemental and inconsiderate. Simon as childish. They were both at fault but people always blame Wille.
To be honest I think both of them have issues understanding the other and their lives and problems. It's not just Wille.
The only time Wille truly messed up IMO is with the denial and I completely understand that Simon might not be able to forgive. I also fully support his decision to break up with Wille. Wille really needs to work on himself to find what he wants and Simon deserves that.
I love Simon and I love Wilhelm. I honestly do. They are so well written but also beautiful characters.
What I don't love is the way people scrutinise Wille for everything he does but very rarely acknowledge Simon's shortcomings.
I'm sorry for the rant but these kinds of comments piss me off. Alot.
😆

I talked my husband into watching Young Royals. When we started he asked if we could watch it with Swedish subtitels, for "full effect"! We ended up speaking Swedish for the rest of the evening. (Swedish is not our first language) Had so much fun 💜
