I am so sick and tired of seeing the trans women around me being slowly hot coaled into the closet and into essentially being forced back into "Men who would really love being women but Can't because they Aren't". It is so painful stop fucking doing this to our trans women. Stop forcing them to be "Fine" with being called dude bro man he and biologically male stop it stop it stop it you are killing her. You are killing her.

it's always quite telling when people's problem with trans women making egg jokes is "it's fuckign weird & creepy" because it highlights what they think "suggesting somebody could be trans" is: weird and creepy. like, they literally can't define it any further beyond that because there is no further to define it: it is a deeply conservative gut response. if you think it is "weird" or "creepy" for somebody to suggest or yes even joke that a cis person is trans, then i don't know how to tell you this: you think being trans is weird and creepy. you think transition is weird and creepy. and you can jerk yourself off about how you support everybody's right to do whatever they want, but that objectively does not make up for the fact that you are saying "transness should be marginalised, it is abnormal to talk about transness, transness is a dirty, perverted, shameful part of society that must be spoken about in hushed whisper if at all"

my family wasn't this strict, but in some sects of buddhism you're not allowed to eat the "five pungent vegetables", onions garlic shallots leeks and umm chives i think, really any of those kind of vegetables. probably some monk ages ago was tired of onion farts stinking up the temple. anyways, one time my brother made a soup using all five of them. he said, "one sip of this, and you'll be reincarnated as a flea."

i think one of the best parts about being a teenager in the early to mid 2010s was that cigarettes were definitely not cool anymore and vapes hadn’t popularized yet so my lungs made it out of my peak impressionable years relatively unscathed

why bother caring about the environment when 1. It’s so obviously a lost cause and 2. There’s definitely going to be a nuclear war?
And what are you doing about it Anon? Learn about ecological restoration or get out of my way.

Star Trek is actually one franchise where I'd prefer to never have any character arcs about being queer. Because to imply that being gay or transgender or poc or female or nonbinary or disabled or polyamorous or anything else is *difficult* in this universe would be a mark against its vision of utopia. It would be a sign that society hasn't progressed since the 21st century. This is why Star Trek tends to handle topics of discrimination through allegory. Racism can exist between two alien species, but never between two humans. Jadzia struggles with her attraction to another woman, not because she's queer, but because that woman is the partner of her previous life, and her Trill culture is against that. Bashir isn't "autistic", he's "genetically modified". Human culture in Star Trek should always be an exemplar of how things COULD be. Not a direct mirror of how they are.
