I get where you're coming from with that post about the people you're trying to reach, but the fact of the matter is if you try to appeal to the better nature of bigots, you will always hit a brick wall where the bigot will either deny the severity of what they said or just flat out agree with the take you're criticizing.

I say point out the bigotry for what it is, no matter what form it takes. Regardless of whether or not it offends the bigots.

Cause at the end of the day, you need to offend them. To call them out on their bullshit.

That way their lesser evil acts can't be excused or ignored.

yeah, i get this. Honestly this is kind of a last ditch attempt. I often call out subtle and transandrophobic stuff on my main. This is kind of an attempt to reach out to people who are on that radicalisation pipeline but not too far, hoping that they see what they are becoming and maybe recognise trans men's humanity.

some of you seriously think male privilege comes from being given something, or only having positive experiences, or otherwise some external validation rewarded for being a man. but the reality is simply that male privilege comes from NOT being a woman. it literally does not matter that trans men face transphobia, because we still aren't trans women, who face transphobia and are also women.

now, some of you are going to say "but trans men are often TREATED like women", and that is true! that's transphobia. we're treated as delusional girls destroying our sacred bodies, that's misogyny. many trans guys don't pass or are closeted. for sure, trans men do not benefit from cis privilege. but plenty of trans men ARE seen as and treated like men, even if they don't completely pass (like online, and/or in queer spaces). at the end of the day, binary trans men are men, and are not women. which, if you remember, is the only prerequisite for benefiting from male privilege!
