it really is so uncomfortable being a trans man in cis centric conversations of feminism. I just wonder. do they know about people like me? do they care? if I brought it up to them, how would they react? Do they expect me to be their human shield?

To any trans man who needs to hear this: When they say they “hate all men” or want to “kill all men,” you don’t have to just accept that. It’s okay to feel hurt, it’s okay to feel unsafe. It’s okay to recognize that they are either othering your manhood or demonizing you for it, and to call them out for it if you’re in a position to. If they have trauma around men, they can work on that in private instead of expressing harmful sentiments around their marginalized male friends. You deserve love and safety. I love you and I hope I can help you feel safe.

i just gotta have my weekly “i am frustrated w employed people” moment. because i just feel so isolated in every conversation, i feel envious of their income and ability to live an independent life and buy things. if thats u I truly do need you to recognize and be conscientious of the fact that even though there is much wrong with the environment and expectations of employment, still that it is a privilege to be able to participate in it, because it means you at least have that base level of worth to society so that you can participate in it as designed. ppl like me cannot.

i appreciate the attempts a lot of game devs are making with gender neutral character creation, and i appreciate that it's actually a very difficult task to implement that depending on the game's base code. but it's so funny to me when you hear an uproar because some game has "entirely removed the gender option from character creation!!!!!" so you go to check it out and its just like

i'm so tired, honestly it's exhausting to see this weird constant infighting from everyone. It's like, trans women feel like their issues are not being listened to and taken seriously, trans men feel like their issues aren't listened to and taken seriously, non binary people, intersex people etc, which is in ALL cases, TRUE. but then we get into this is "I have it worse, no one can understand my struggle" feeling, and you get the pushing and the shoving and blame, getting hurt and then smacking the person next to you in the face because they were there.

I'm tired. No one is "Exempt" from bigotry. The reproductive rights, Healthcare, working, school, there is no case where we aren't all affected. No one is "talking over" anyone else by wanting their suffering to be acknowledged. There's no "one true oppressed group" and everyone else is pretenders. That stuff is reductive and only helps those who want to hurt us. those feelings make sense, we all want to be listened to and not talked over, but we continue to engage in oppression olympics, while our rights are being stripped from us and it's not helping. So I'm really tired.

I dislike how clumsy it is to share Twitter threads but here is a portion from a guy I follow (for his trans porn and monster fucking content at that) echoing a sentiment that aces, traumatized people, people with low libido, etc. can fully relate to. As a wheelchair user I'm trying to reframe my language for "being in the way."

"I'm in the way," "I can't fit," and "I can't go there," is becoming "there's not enough space," "the walkway is too narrow," and "that place isn't accessible."

It's a small change, but to me it feels as if I'm redirecting blame from myself to the people that made these places inaccessible in the first place. I don't want people to just think that they're helping me, I want them to think that they're making up for someone else's wrongdoing. I want them to remember every time I've needed help as something someone else caused.

depressing ramble

i can’t sleep and im plagued by thoughts of the apathy i’ve received towards my health from my parents and everyone else, and im just sad. sad that its just so cruel and i don’t know why. my most common recurring dream is me sobbing hysterically while no one around me cares. my health and energy levels are at or near an all time low and when im like this i just can’t help but think, why am I even here. i hate scraping by the way i do. im not a real person with real experiences. everything i do is on social media and the internet. its just sad and frustrating. thinking about the long road ahead with ssi and all the other shit wrong with my life…….im just tired. im just not built for it. probably one of the only reasons im still here is because dying is just really hard especially when you have limited access to resources, anyway. a cruel joke.

"When they talk about men's problems, they're always blaming women," is something I see often on here, and I can't say I agree. I think it's something to watch out for in these conversations, definitely, but I mostly just see this used to shut down anything that isn't 'us vs. them' thinking. Maybe different groups talking about "men's problems" do have wildly different agendas actually. Really though, applying this retort to transfeminist conversations in any way is frankly laughable.
