i just gotta have my weekly “i am frustrated w employed people” moment. because i just feel so isolated in every conversation, i feel envious of their income and ability to live an independent life and buy things. if thats u I truly do need you to recognize and be conscientious of the fact that even though there is much wrong with the environment and expectations of employment, still that it is a privilege to be able to participate in it, because it means you at least have that base level of worth to society so that you can participate in it as designed. ppl like me cannot.

ugh im still thinking about that terf comment earlier. I also looked at their blog and saw they had reblogged some trans masc art- they didnt leave any negative comments on it, they just wanted it on their blog in case someone like me wanted to check if they were an ally or not, to seem more trans friendly than they are. Kind of undermined by the fact that everything else on their blog was literally "ten tips for female separatism" but whatever. There may be people more slick about it than that, which is why its so important to Think and be aware of what your values are and why, so you can't be swayed by superficial displays of allyship alone.

your first mistake is treating transmasc / transfem like inherent opposites. your second mistake is treating man / woman in general like opposites but you all are not ready for that convo.

*firmly grabbing all beginner artists by the shoulders* you have to embrace inconsistency. inconsistency is good because it means you are learning. if you focus too hard on making all your art look the same you are really just holding yourself back and forcing yourself to make the same mistakes rather than develop and grow. style and consistency can come later on when your grasp on the fundamentals is stronger. now take this juice box and get out there and make some art.

it is crazy how “if this childrens show doesn’t kill their villain at the end it’s irredeemable media” became such a popular opinion here. like people were calling steven universe fascist apologia. and to be clear I don’t even think that would be the case for non childrens media, either. perhaps holding every single story up to the same standard of “does it follow the acceptable narrative path or is it evil propaganda” isn’t the most anti-fascist thing, either. maybe.

aita is so funny the way people will be like “throwaway/anon cuz other person uses this website” and then just go on to describe hyper specific scenarios that would be unmistakable to the people involved.

“cunt” is such a nono word in the US, not even just when used misogynistically but just in general. Like worse than “fuck,” idk, we just hate saying it over here. but its entered my vocabulary from gay ppl and drag and I forget i can’t just be talking to my mom and describe something as cunty.

god apparently Walgreens has a policy where employees can refuse to complete a transaction if it goes against their moral or religious beliefs…like lets get this straight a pharmacist can refuse to give a customer their prescribed medication because they disagree with it. and technically theyre supposed to hand it off to another employee. but this doesnt always happen. literally leaving people without condoms or contraceptives or HRT or any number of things because the employee simply didn’t want to. Incredibly ghoulish policy that has no right to exist. I’m sorry if you work in a pharmacy and can’t do your literal job because its too “morally challenging” for you, you should not have that job!

i was talkin with some europeans about their healthcare and i realized like, even if i had the means to immigrate, i most likely would not be allowed to in most countries as a single person because I am disabled. This is another major aspect of ableism I don't see talked about often, the way immigration systems across the globe are designed to keep disabled people (who would be 'burdens' on the welfare system) out.

it really is so uncomfortable being a trans man in cis centric conversations of feminism. I just wonder. do they know about people like me? do they care? if I brought it up to them, how would they react? Do they expect me to be their human shield?

unfortunately many peoples idea of activism is about finding the most acceptable channel for anger and hatred, to the point where “i think the world should be a better place for everyone” becomes a threat to that outlet.

I'm telling you you guys have to stop buying into the propaganda about disability fakers. EVEN if fakers exist to the extent that it is a massive problem, disabled people still should be given proper support. If governments and other organizations fail to deliver that it does not matter what their excuse is; they have still failed disabled people and that is unacceptable. If their solution to so-called fakers is one that harms disabled people then they have not actually solved anything, but it sure as hell is a convenient scapegoat.
It also CANNOT be overstated that many people with legitimate needs are and will continue to be labeled as fakers, a sentence which is hurtful at best and deadly at worst.

so interesting to me the ppl that treat hbombs plagiarism video like a content cop style takedown of people they don’t like, especially with the illuminautii segment. but like, its more akin to investigative journalism. I feel like its missing the forest for the trees. Fillip, iiluminautii, the internet historian, are just examples of plagiarists, what plagiarism on youtube looks like, the financial and personal motives behind it, etc. There are so many people who do what iilluminautii does its not even funny, any number of channels he could have talked about. The real point of the video is James, whose plagiarism of queer writers was so extensive it NEEDED to be talked about, and it NEEDED all the evidence to leave no room for rebuttal. He wasn’t just finding skeletons in the closet of someone he didn’t like, he was attempting to educate, to right James’ wrongs, to have a real, tangible impact on the people he stole from.
