NO bc fans of Richmond would buy 'The Richmond Way' assuming they're getting a perfectly normal story about the season and then wonder 'why does this read like a love letter to Ted Lasso?' bc Trent changed nothing except the title

How I sleep at night knowing that Ted Lasso season 3 had an episode called The Strings That Bind Us, centered around the metaphor of the red string of fate, structured like a romcom, with an opening scene directly stolen from You've Got Mail (x), soundtrack and all; and in this episode Ted complimented a guy's head of hair and said that something frames another guy's face nicely and that out of multiple men, the clean shaven one was his favourite; meanwhile Trent did not mutter one word in the direction of anyone who wasn't Ted, but had multiple conversations with Ted that called back to their scenes in previous seasons, all of this leading up to a chase scene in the last third of the episode, which obviously references the Race for Your Love trope (x)(x). Oh, and when the question "What's with the red string?" was posed to Ted, the camera immediately cut to Trent wearing a bracelet made of red string.

I love how Trent Crimm's character arc went from him staring at Ted Lasso with uncertain confusion about why this man intrigued him so much in season one, to him staring at Ted Lasso with a genuine fondness and admiration in season three.

Look at this man. Look at that development.

Ted Lasso really made Trent Crimm believe he was a better person for knowing him. And taught him to be more trusting of the unknown. And I think that's beautiful writing and acting.
