Leaving Proxy for surgery was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My heart aches. I want to just hold her through it. I want to be the first face she sees when she wakes up. I know it’s the right thing to do, and she’s going to feel better. I wish I could just take it all from her and bear her pain for her. She is the love of my life, my soulmate in dog pajamas, my best friend. I have loved so many animals in my lifetime, and I never knew I could love like this.
