my whole country is up in arms over Palestine being bombed despite the government backing Israel. No matter what the news tells you, how many countries “support Israel”, remember that people are not their governments. We do not support Israel. We support Palestinian people. They will never be erased.

yes yes, i need to keep in mind that there are lots of people supporting palestine. despite our government and some shitty people not doing so. we’ll just have to continue to speak up, louder than ever!

the best way to deal with this is to recognise that a lot of Zionist defenders don’t even know what Zionism actually means. They don’t know what it is, they just watched the BBC for the first time in 5 years and decided that Palestine = Hamas and Palestine = bad. Also recognise that there Afro every Zionist defender, there are so many Palestine supporters. We are here.

yeah you’re right. the argument ended with me telling one of them (the one i actually like) that he should read more about what’s going on in palestine. and he was like “i do that” and i was like “what are your sources?” but i didn’t get an answer because the break was over. but i assume it’s biased belgian media like bbc. it was just shocking to me because i talk about this topic with my family and friends and we’re all on the right side and i see so many good people defending palestine online and speaking up etc. but this was the first time i’ve discussed this with people who believe the exact opposite thing. like i don’t surround myself with those kind of people, so i didn’t know how to handle my anger and emotions.

i’m on a teambuilding with work and argued with two co-workers about palestine and isr*** and it was so fucked up i was shaking so bad i almost spilled my tea AND started crying so if anyone can give advice on how to discuss this topic without getting so emotional and wanting to slap people in the face i’d gladly take it
