Tumblr in 2021

I get what it is but why can't we make the pictures fit the whole screen? Or is it just me? 

Is it that we get to have some simple human connection that makes it so addictive? I still have a lot to understand about this platform. My mind is a bit foggy with all it has to offer. It was been since 2014 since I opened Tumblr and now it seems to be a whole new platform similar to others. I have yet to understand what makes it so good. Will someone explain?
