『 𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄 』
Tumblr media
· Pairing: Neteyam x Na'vi Reader
· Summary: You're up to the challenge for sky diving, until it ends wrong. Let's say, your mate is not pleased once he found out what happened.
· CW: 5.4k // Fluff. Angst. Mention of wounds (scratches, cuts, bruises). Reader and Lo'ak are reckless. Height. Protective Neteyam. Scolding by Neteyam. Suggestive at the end.
Tumblr media
Lo'ak offered you a challenging dare near the cliff of the floating mountains. You followed him without Neteyam's knowing because you know once he knew what you were about to do, he's going to be upset.
You can't help but chuckle at the thought of him finding out. Neteyam is naturally protective over his family and those he cared about, and would not hesitate to give out a good scolding to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
You follow Lo'ak, curious to see what he has in store for you. You start to have second thoughts as you approach the edge of the cliff, but a tinge of adrenaline courses through your veins.
“I know I said it sounds fun,” you pause, looking down the cliff from the floating mountains. “But are you sure this is a good idea? Have you tried this before?” You ask him with a mix of anxiety and excitement.
He looks back at you with a smug look on his face as he shakes his head. “I haven't tried this before, but you'll be fine! Look at all the cool air currents above us,” he says.
You can't help but smile at his enthusiasm and confidence. He's right, there is a beautiful array of swirling air currents floating above the cliffs. It's almost too tempting not to try.
“You haven't?” You look at him in surprise. But of course, Lo'ak being Lo'ak, he would try anything just for fun. Let's just hope you both are not testing the Great Mother's patience.
He grins at you again, almost as if to say ‘exactly,’ and he shrugs nonchalantly in response. “What's life if you don't try new things every now and then?” He says confidently. You can't help but chuckle at his answer, seeing a sense of truth in it.
He raises a brow and says, “Are you worried now? It's too late to back out anyway. Let's get this over with and have some fun!” Lo'ak hasn't steered you wrong before, and there is that feeling of excitement in the pit of your stomach. You nod with a reluctant agreement, and he laughs in response.
In the count of three, you both jump from the cliff. As soon as you jump off the cliff, the wind whips against your face and you feel yourself start to fall. However, your breath catches in your throat as you feel yourself floating. The air currents above you are strong enough to gently carry you along, and you let out a yell of excitement.
You look over to see that he has also caught the wind, he looks back at you with a delighted grin and gives you a thumbs up as the strong wind hits your faces.
The wind rushes through your hair as you plummet toward the ground, your stomach lurching at the sudden movement. As you fall, your eyes scan the landscape below, enjoying the beauty of the world you're living in.
As your stomach lurches once more, Lo'ak lets out a whoop of excitement. You quickly realize that this is far more thrilling than you initially thought.
After a few seconds of falling, he called you out in the midst of falling, giving you a sign that it's time to call both of your ikrans, and you nod in response to his signal. You call out for your ikran with a yeep to come to you, and he does the same. You watch your ikran gracefully enter the air currents and dart towards you, its wings flapping furiously to catch you.
He whistles as he sees his ikran emerge from the swirling mist, calling for it to slow down. Then his ikran swoops him up from below as he mounts his ikran.
While you managed to mount your ikran, you were not prepared when your ikran sped down for the remaining height to the ground. Your hand slipped from the holder when you're about to bond with your ikran, making the ikran swerve while it dives down toward the ground.
Your legs lose balance on the saddle as you fall off your ikran. You could hear Lo'ak screaming out your name in horror and the screech of your panicked ikran. You fall hitting the tree's big leaves left and right with a loud crash, the wind knocked out of your lungs until you eventually hit the ground.
You lie still for a moment before groaning in pain. Your back, arms, and legs are covered in cut and scratches, and you can feel a few bruises forming on your body.
Lo'ak comes flying down and lands beside you. He immediately dismounts from his ikran and kneels beside you. His eyes are wide with concern, and his voice is rushed as he tries to help you. You can hear his frantic breathing, and his voice is panicked as he asks you, “Are you okay?!”
You lie there for a moment, trying not to move. Each movement sends a sharp pain throughout your body, and any noise you make causes more discomfort. “It hurts...” You groan again.
As he kneels down next to you, he anxiously scans around the area. He places a hand on your shoulder and sighs anxiously. “Hey, hey,” he says, trying to calm you down.
“Hold still! Let me see how bad the damage is,” he says, trying to help you move into a comfortable position.
He carefully examines your legs, arms, and back before grimacing in worry. Your wounds look painful, and he is reluctant to touch them until you give him the okay.
“It's not that bad... right?” You ask hopefully as you give him the cue to proceed. "It's definitely not good," he says, his voice still filled with concern.
Your injuries do look quite bad. You have to squint your eyes against the stinging pains in your back, and your arms are pretty bruised from falling onto the ground. Your legs are scraped up, and one of them has a bleeding cut on it.
However, it's difficult to really assess the damage while laying down. He carefully places his hands around your wounds to inspect them. He grimaces at the sight of your injuries.
You can't help but let out a pained chuckle. “We are in so much trouble.” You think of how Neteyam would react to Lo'ak for making you do this dangerous thing, and for you for following him, once you get back home and caught you in this state.
He looks up and chuckles nervously at the thought. “I think we are,” he says. “Neteyam is going to be so pissed! Like, 'I told you so' pissed!” You let out another small chuckle in response to Lo'ak's comment, even though you feel your bruises and scratches sting. You can't deny that you did have fun in the air, despite how badly you are hurt now.
“I could worry about my wounds later when we still have to brace ourselves to explain all this to him.” You grunt, enduring the pain as you sit up. He sighs deeply and groans again. “Yeah, we're definitely in big trouble,” he says.
“And we're definitely did not get away with this,” he adds. Your injuries are still fresh and sore, but you can't resist your curiosity. You look up towards the floating mountains, eager to see how far away the cliff from the ground is. He sees you looking at the cliff above and smiles.
“Come on, you see how far we fell? We got pretty lucky,” he says. You nod, impressed by the heights you both just jumped into. “That's just so amazing.” You look up in awe.
“But I can't lie, it is fun.” You say with a smile. You and Lo'ak share a smile and nod in agreement. You might be injured now, but it was definitely worth the thrill of being in mid-air.
He looks towards the sky, noticing the eclipse is approaching to end the day. “We should head back home soon. Neteyam's probably starting to get worried,” he said.
He helps you up, and you struggle to stand on your ikran. You try your best not to wince at the pain in your scratches and bruises, but the thought of having to face your mate and explain your injuries does keep your mind off of it for a while.
You can see the lights of the camp in the distance. Your mind dwells on Neteyam, wondering how he would react when he sees your bruises and injuries. You can almost hear his irritated expression in your head.
You sigh in relief once you reach home and both of your ikrans landed on the side of the camp. Lo'ak dismounts from the ikran and helps you get down safely on the ground. You can hear the other clan members chattering and laughing inside.
“Wait.” You grip his arm. “How about I get myself tended first?” You suggest nervously, your will suddenly waver at the thought of having to face your mate, who most likely won't be happy at all with what you're about to tell him.
Lo'ak looks over at you with a bemused expression. He can understand that you're nervous to confront Neteyam, but he's surprised at your sudden change of mind. “Are you sure?” He's clearly still worried about your injuries and understands your hesitation to face Neteyam.
Before you could respond, you both heard footsteps approaching you from behind. Lo'ak looks back with an anxious expression, and you follow his gaze to see Neteyam walking toward you, his face filled with concern and rage.
He stops in his tracks, and you can tell from his expression that he is not entertained. Lo'ak stands by your side, his ears lowered as if expecting Neteyam's reprimand.
“I, uh, hey?” You greet him awkwardly like you've been caught doing something you're not supposed to do, which you did. The scratches and bruises on your body can't hide that.
“Where have you been?!” Neteyam growls, and you notice the deep lines of concern on his face. He crosses his arms over his chest and takes a step closer to you. His tone is rough and firm, like a disappointed father lecturing his children.
Neteyam stares at you with a serious look on his face, his eyes taking in every single scratch, cut, and bruise on your body. His expression fills you with dread. You knew Neteyam would be upset, but you didn't expect him to look at you this way. You can only imagine what he is thinking in his head at that moment.
His gaze trails from Lo'ak to you, and he narrows his eyes at the sight of your injuries. He looks upset and worried at the same time, and you and Lo'ak exchange a nervous glance.
“Lo'ak, explain," Neteyam orders, his voice stern. Lo'ak gulps before replying, "Um... well... we thought that climbing the cliff and then jumping off them with our ikrans would be fun." You facepalm internally at his answer.
You can tell by the way he glances at Lo’ak, looking even more irritated. Lo’ak shifts nervously, and you can tell from his expression that he regrets everything. He’s not too surprised by Neteyam's scolding.
“We went sky diving,” you admit, avoiding his gaze. The pain that you feel from all over your body feels like nothing when you stand face to face in front of him in this situation. Lo'ak stands beside you, clearly apologetic and nervous about the situation.
Neteyam shakes his head in disappointment and annoyance. “Sky... diving? Are you out of your mind?!” He exclaims, his volume rising with every word.
Lo'ak looks away in guilt, and you hang your head low in shame. As much as you enjoyed jumping off the cliff together with Lo'ak, you can't fault Neteyam for being upset. You did put yourself in danger for the sake of thrill and pleasure.
Then, Lo'ak steps in to defend you quickly, “Bro, it was my idea!” Neteyam stares down Lo'ak for a moment before turning to you. “Well, she went along with it,” he says. Your heart skips a beat when Neteyam locks his gaze on you.
“Yes.” You say quietly as you nod in shame, avoiding his gaze. “But this was an accident.” You try to explain the cause of your wounds.
“An accident, yeah? You're both lucky to be alive!” Neteyam snaps back at Lo'ak. He paces between you and Lo'ak slowly, fuming with anger and worry.
Neteyam looks down at you and then at Lo'ak with a mixture of annoyance, worry, and frustration on his face. “Why were you and Lo'ak even climbing the cliff to begin with?” He asks, sounding more concerned than angry now.
“I swear, you two come up with the most dangerous activities to entertain yourselves.“ He looks away briefly, shaking his head in disappointment.
In Neteyam's eyes, you can see two conflicting emotions warring against each other. He is clearly agitated at his mate's reckless behavior, but the sight of your scratched-up wounds does concern him. Lo'ak stands on the side, not sure what to say to calm his irate brother while he stood there, feeling guilty.
You can barely hear his voice as he speaks to you, “How did this even happen?” You avoid his gaze once more before speaking, “I fell from my ikran during the fall. I hit a few trees, and land up like this.” You close your eyes slightly at your explanation, it does sound bad.
“You hit a few trees?” Neteyam's tone is harsh and accusatory as he glares at you. His face darkens significantly, and his anger and worry are palpable.
“And you fell from your ikran?” He asks. You nod in response, and his eyes narrow in confusion. In his mind, he still can’t fathom how you could’ve possibly fallen off your ikran, especially when you are so proficient in riding it.
“What were you thinking? I could've lost my mate today! Is falling from a cliff and hitting a few trees worth your life?” He crosses his arms and shifts angrily near Lo'ak, seemingly not wanting you to see how hurt he is by the sight of your injuries.
“Do you know how dangerous that stunt was?" He raises his voice slightly when he turns to you. “What if you fell on your neck?" He points to your neck, which has a cut on it. “You could have died today! And for what? A stupid game?” He says, sounding both frustrated and confused at the same time.
Lo'ak can see a flash of concern on Neteyam's face while you still look away in shame. His expression softens when he sees your response, and quickly turn towards you and takes your hand to examine your wounds.
As he gently wipes away the blood, you feel the warm touch of his finger pads on your skin. You notice how worried he looks now. His eyes dart over to the scratches on your arms, your knees, your legs. He doesn't say anything, but you can see that he is deeply upset in you and Lo'ak.
“Why don't we take her to grandmother?” Lo'ak suggests, trying to appease the tension. Neteyam sighs before answering, “Yes, let's go see grandmother. I'll make sure you're properly looked after,” he says.
He quickly picks you up in his arms, and you can see Lo'ak's eyes sparkling with relief. You smile at the gesture and rest your face on his chest, feeling warm and safe in Neteyam's arms.
Once you reached the Tsahìk's tent, Neteyam sat your down on the matted floor and let the elderly woman tend your wounds.
Neteyam stays close to you as Mo'at prepares the herbs and medicines needed for the healing process. You can see his concern as he watches you flinch with each treatment of the injuries. Lo'ak is just as concerned, as he stays in the corner of the tent.
Mo'at takes her time cleaning each one of your wounds. It's definitely not a quick process, but her hands are gentle and calming. As the cooling herb paste soothes your injured skin, you slowly relax on the mat.
Neteyam sits patiently by your side, silently watching the Tsahìk's work. He looks at his hands from time to time, avoiding your eyes. Even though he still feels anger and disappointment from you and Lo'ak, his concern for your well-being is clearly overriding his feelings right now.
Once done, Mo'at leans back, and her expression is filled with satisfaction. “Your wounds will heal well. Make sure to be careful next time,” she says, using the same tone that a caring mother would have. She gently touches the paste on your scratches, as if making sure that they have set properly.
“Thank you, grandmother. I will.” She inspects your body once more and confirms that all the wounds are clean and covered. Then, she gets up and walks out of the tent, sensing that you and Neteyam have something to discuss.
You could see Neteyam giving Lo'ak a knowing look. Lo'ak nods understandingly as he walks out of the tent behind his grandmother and closes the tent's flaps.
You look down at your palms on your lap, knowing he probably still has more things to say before he talks to Lo'ak later on. He will give Lo'ak his scolding later after he's done with you.
Without Lo'ak present, the tension between you and Neteyam is palpable in the air. You can sense a wave of disappointment and frustration wash over him as he sits across the mat from you. He stares at your herb paste-covered body with a frown.
“You know how dangerous what you and Lo'ak did was, right?” He asks, his voice low and harsh. “Do you know how worried we were? I could lose you, and then what? What would have happened if you got seriously hurt?”
You didn't answer him, rather, you don't know how to answer him, because he's right. You just put yourself in danger today, and an accident did happen. You're lucky that you didn't end up with broken bones, or worse, dead.
“Do you even realize how dangerous those floating mountains are? How difficult it had to be for you to control your ikran in mid-air? These are things not meant for anyone to do, and yet you and him did just that!”
You're silent for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady your heartbeat as you look at Neteyam. You can feel a wave of guilt wash over you as you take in his words. You look down at your bandaged body, your face filled with humiliation and regret for your actions.
“I know, I understand.” You finally say to him. “I was reckless today, and I should have known better,” you say, promising him that you'll be more careful.
Neteyam looks at you, and his expression softens slightly. He can tell that you understand the seriousness of your recklessness and that you have learned from your mistake. He moves closer to you and puts a hand on your knee.
“Please don't make me worry again,” he says, looking into your eyes. “You mean so much to me. I don't want to imagine a world without you in it.” You can feel the raw emotion in his words, and he seems genuinely thankful that you're alive.
“But I still can't believe you decided to... you know,” he says, sighing. “...jump off the cliff to sky dive. How could you possibly think that was a safe idea?” He continues to look down at his hands, although you can tell he is starting to feel agitated again.
“I could have lost you today," he continues, his voice cracking a little now. “What's gotten into you?”
You keep quiet for a moment, thinking of the best way to respond to Neteyam's comment. You know that he's right about your recklessness, but you also want to defend yourself. You were just having some fun with Lo'ak. “I know that," you say eventually. "But I didn't do it with any bad intentions. We just wanted to have a little fun, that's all.”
“Fun?” Neteyam finally looks at you now, and the tension in his voice makes it obvious how exasperated he's feeling right now. “Jumping off the cliff is not my definition of 'a little fun',” he deadpanned. “Besides, if you just wanted to have fun, why is your body covered in cuts and bruises?”
He sigh deeply. “I know you did it for fun,” he says slowly, with more calm than you expected him to show, “and I know you didn't intend it to be dangerous, but you still need to think about the consequences before you do anything.”
Neteyam runs his hand through his hair, as if trying to ground himself and hold back his anger. What could have been a scolding from his part, ends up being a slightly stern talk.
“I know.” You mumble, can't help but letting out a hint of annoyance in your tone. You feel like a child again, scolded by your mother. His scolding reminds you how your mother keeps going on and on despite you answers, but you know deep down they're speaking out of love and care.
Neteyam is almost stunned by your tone of annoyance, and just stare at you. “Why do you seem annoyed at me? Who is supposed to be annoyed here?” He asks, his voice still with hint of impatience.
“You could have gotten seriously hurt, and now you're mad at me for scolding you like a child?” He sighs and continues, “We are mates! I have every right to get mad at you for what you did today.”
“Okay. I hear you. I get it.” You say again, not trying to hide your annoyance this time. You know he means well, but the continuous nagging irritates you.
“Look, I understand you and Lo'ak wanted to have some fun,” he says, trying to calm his own anger. “But next time, please be more careful. You two almost gave me a heart attack.”
Neteyam takes a deep breath and looks away from you, his face still full of frustration. He knows he shouldn't be taking out his anger on you, especially since you're injured, but he can't help but feel disappointed at your reckless behavior despite his warnings to always be careful.
“I could have lost you today, and I don't ever want that to happen again.” His tone changes, becoming gentler now as his expression softens. “Please don't be annoyed by my concern for you.”
You still look down at you lap, sulky from the accident and now your mate scolding you, which you deserve, while you sit there in silence.
“Please, don't be mad at me,” he says, sounding sincere. “I'm just scared for you, that's all. I can't bear the thought of ever losing you.” You can feel the warmth of his fingers on your face as he tries to reassure you. He wants you to understand why he gets upset at your reckless actions.
“I'm not mad... at you.” You mumble, avoiding his gaze. “I'm upset that I know I deserve it.” You fidget your fingers nervously. Neteyam lets go of your chin and leans back, feeling bad for putting so much pressure on you.
“You do realize I'm not trying to reprimand you or scold you, right?” He shakes his head. “I'm saying this because I care about you. I don't want to see you ever get injured again.”
He places a hand on your cheek, and you can feel the heat from his skin on your skin. You feel his soft breath on your face as he continues, slowly calming down, “I know it was an accident, but I'm still worried about how careful you're going to be from now on.”
“You're mad at me.” You mumble again, stating another reason why you're sulking when you remember the way he looks at you and Lo'ak before. You may have seen him mad at rare moments but not with you, and this is the only few times he's mad at you.
Neteyam shakes his head again and sighs. “I was mad, yes... I wasn't very happy with what you and Lo'ak did today. It's not a safe thing to jump off a cliff just for fun,” he says. “But right now, I'm worried.”
He leans closer to you slightly, wanting to make you understand how concerned he is. He places a hand on your arm and gently caresses you again, his eyes never leaving yours, “My love, I just... don't want to lose you. Do you understand?”
The sulkiness slowly disappear when you hear his soft tone and gentle words. “Yes,” you nod. “I understand.”
Neteyam smiles slightly as you finally understand why he gets upset so often about these kinds of things. He moves his hand from your arm to your waist, his fingertips trailing along your skin.
“How do they feel?” He asks, sounding much more attentive to your wellbeing now. “Does the cut sting? Is grandmother's herbs working? How is the bruise? Does it hurt when you touch it?” He bombarded you with the questions as he analyze your condition once more. You could only chuckle at his worries and nod, “I'm feeling better, still hurt, but better.”
He lets out a small sigh of relief as he looks deeply into your eyes. “Don't do these kinds of reckless things again,” he warns you again, but his tone calming down even more. “Please, promise me.”
He moves his gaze from your eyes to your lips, and your heart beats faster as he leans in closer. You hear his soft breathing and smell his scent of his body. His lips are only a few inches away from yours now.
You want to do it again for the thrill and the fun, and you want to do it better this time so your mate doesn't get mad at you. You nod silently, not wanting to make any promises either.
He moves his hand to your chin and lightly turns your face up. Neteyam continues to look into your eyes as he slowly moves his face closer and closer to yours. You can feel his breath on your face, your heart beats faster and faster as he nears your lips.
Just as your lips are about to touch, he stops, leaning back a little so that your faces are only centimeters apart from each other. He looks at you in the eyes again, wanting you to understand something important.
“You know I say this for your own good, right?” He asks, his voice calm while he brushes the strands of your hair away from your face.
"Promise me, my love," he says, his heart pounding in his chest as he stares into your eyes. His eyes sparkle, his breaths coming in quick and shallow.
You feel him pressing his body closer to yours, and you can barely think of anything other than his lips. His hands travel to your back, and you can feel his fingers brush the hem of your top. He tilts his head in invitation, and the space between your faces is so close now.
“I don't think I can.” You shake your head a bit as you remember the fun and thrill of sky diving. “But I promise to be more careful next time.” You offer him another promise.
Neteyam sighs and presses his lips against yours in an attempt to shush you. His lips are soft and firm at the same time, and his kiss fills up your whole head and makes you feel like nothing else matters. You wrap your arms around his back, wanting to pull him closer as your heart beats faster and faster. You feel your blood rushing all over your body as passion and desire start to cloud your mind. He keeps kissing you over and over, showing no signs of stopping.
His kiss is delicate and gentle, but there is a hint of passion behind his touch. His breath tickles your face as his lips move slowly over yours. You close your eyes and let yourself be kissed, feeling your heart race as he pulls you closer.
As the kiss deepens, you can hear your breathing become more steady and deep. You move your hands around his waist and pull him closer, enjoying the moment as much as him.
You hear a low growl escape Neteyam's throat as you passionately respond to his kisses. His tongue slides into your mouth and gently explores inside as the heat between you both builds up.
His hands roam over your body, caressing your skin softly. He did so carefully because he's still aware of your still fresh wounds. You press your lips closer to his, feeling his breath on your tongue as you exchange saliva with him.
His fingers trail down your body, moving towards your hips as he pulls you closer against him. You can feel heat gathering up, and your mind becomes more foggy by the second. Nothing matters but the sweet taste of his lips and the touch of his hand on your skin.
You pull away to regain your breath. Neteyam's heart is beating out of his chest as he stares at you, his breath still heavy. His eyes flicker to look you up and down, taking in every part of you. He lift you up carefully onto his lap, making sure you're comfortable.
You try to take a deep breath, but he immediately pulls you closer and claims your lips again. The kiss is full of fire, his tongue deep inside your mouth as his hand travels down your neck and down your spine. His hand ends just below your waist, sliding into your hips. Your body presses against his, and you feel like the only two people in the world.
“My beloved.” You whisper between pants and kisses. “You do realize I'm still wounded, right?” You whisper onto his lips while your mind is already hazy. You can hear him breathing heavily as he gazes at you, his tongue caressing yours once more.
“I know. I'm just a little excited, I guess.” He chuckles and presses his lips against yours again, his hand sliding over your body. “Do you mind it?” He whispers, his voice still raspy from the long kiss. He smiles against your lips as he continues, “I don't want to hurt you or anything but I just... I can't help it when I'm with you.”
“Just kisses.” You whisper onto his lips, giving him a short peck. “For now, at least,” you add. “Just kisses.” Neteyam repeats softly. His forehead rests against yours as he stares at you, his eyes gleaming with passion. “I think I can do that,” he says before pulling you into another passionate kiss.

“You skxawng!” Another scold enters Lo'ak's ears which he could only roll his eyes at. “What were you thinking? Both of you?” An exasperated sigh could be heard afterward.
He heard the same words repeated to him, before it was from his older brother, and now it's from his older sister. “I know, I know.” He answered with annoyance in his tone, from the scolding and from the guilt.
Kiri huffs as she walks beside Lo'ak, heading towards the Tsahìk's tent where you were, wanting to check on you. She considers you her close friend, it makes her worried that you and Lo'ak are constantly in trouble, but she's not surprised.
Once they have reached the Tsahìk's tent and Lo'ak is midway opening it, he stops as he sees the sight in front of him.
“What is it?” Kiri looks at him questioningly before pushing him out of the way to see what he is looking at.
Not even a second her eyes landed at the sight, she rolled her eyes once more and let out a loud sigh which could be heard.
“Really?” Kiri looks at you and Neteyam, lost in your own world, that is until you both pull away from the deep kissing after you heard her arrival. “In the Tsahìk's tent?”
“I just left them and they're already on each other's faces.” Lo'ak enters the tent with an amused grin, like he's seen this so many times before that he's not surprised anymore.
“We're just kissing.” Neteyam sighs, but you could see the faint smile appear on his face as he adjusts your body on his lap. “That's right.” You nod in agreement, earning you a slight peck on your neck.
“Yeah. We all know how just kissing between the two of you would always end up to.”
“Well, we're going to wait until I'm recovered.” You reply to Lo'ak's comment with a playful grin. Neteyam hums in agreement before giving you another kiss on the lips, not caring about the other's presence.
“Gross.”

Good day/night. I've seen your fics across the timeline under Neteyam tags so I followed you right away. Seeing your blog grow in a few days makes me happy, keep up the good work.
Hellooo!! I'm glad that you think so, it does make me happy as well 🥹 I know that I started very late since I'm still scared to start a new blog and to write for the first time in this app. Also, I was still 17 at the time when the movie came out, so I kind of just waited until I become an adult to be more comfortable interacting with fellow writers who I admire, I'm a fan, really.
And shout out to the amazing @teyamsatan (Andra, I hope you don't mind me tagging you 🥹) for encouraging me to start writing, this Angst Queen is such an inspiration. It's better late than nothing ^^
So, thank you for you and everyone's support. I'll try to satisfy you all with more Neteyam contents haha

I think I should add Neteyam pics for my fics, you know, to make it more interesting, maybe? But this boy has so little screentime 🥹 Or maybe I should just make an edit of him that I could put in every fics I've written 💃

Tumblr media
· Pairings: Neteyam x Na'vi Reader
· Summary: Him and his suggestive comments while you're applying battle paint on him before the raid.
· CW: 1.3k // Suggestive themes. Implied sexual content. Fluff.
Tumblr media
It was the day when the Omatikaya warriors would raid against the Sky People, to defend our home. You approach your mate who is sitting on a log in front of your shared tent, checking the string of his bow as well the sharpness of his arrows. Your body is already covered with battle paint, you've asked Kiri to do your paint after Neteyam went out to talk to his father earlier.
He has returned a few minutes ago, sitting in front of your shared tent to prepare his bow and arrows. “Beloved,” you hold his shoulder as you call out to him. “Yes, love?” Neteyam looks over his shoulder, smiling brightly. "How can I help you?" He sets his bow and arrows aside and stands up facing you. He wraps his arms around your waist, drawing you into an embrace. He lays his head against yours, breathing in your sweet scent.
“It's more like, how can I help you?” You throw the question back at him, kissing his shoulder as you returned his embrace. “Do you want me to apply the paint for you? Or you'd rather do it yourself?” You asked before kissing his jawline.
Neteyam chuckles at your response, pressing a quick kiss to your lips. “I would love to have your help with applying the paint,” he admits with an impish grin. He trails a few light kisses down your neck, before placing a peck right on the base of your chin. “Would you be willing to lend me a hand?”
“Gladly,” you urged him to sit back down on the ground as you grabbed the colorful battle paint inside the wooden bowls. Neteyam doesn't resist, taking a seat on the ground with crossed legs. His muscles ripple underneath his skin as he leans back, giving you an excellent canvas to paint upon. He places his hands behind his head and stretches his arms wide. "Have at it," he tells you with a smirk. "I'm all yours."
You give him a small chuckle. You admire his toned body from his years of training, his body is noticeably a bit more toned than the typical Na'vi male, inherited from his father who was a Dreamwalker. You're also admiring the pattern of the bioluminescent dots on his skin. Your finger dips into the paint, using the color he usually uses for battle before you apply it on his chest and abdomen.
As you apply the vibrant paint to his body, Neteyam keeps still, letting you work. He's fascinated by how you're painting him. He watches with great interest, admiring your skill and patience as you meticulously apply the paint to his skin. His skin quivers at the touch of your fingers, and he lets out a slight groan, closing his eyes and leaning into your touch.
“Darling...” You sigh at the familiar body reaction with your eyes not leaving your fingers as it traces the paint along his body. “Don't tell me you're aroused, hm?” You ask teasingly as your fingers paint across his chest.
Neteyam groans again, his body tensing up as his heartbeat rises. “Sorry, I can't help it when you're touching me so intently,” he admits with a sheepish smile. “Your touch makes me weak.” He reaches out and holds the side of your waist, pulling you closer to him. He gives you a passionate kiss, eager to express his desire for you.
“Hmm...” You hum at the kiss before pushing him back to continue applying paint to his body. “I've warned you that we shouldn't be doing it the night before the raid, now look at you,” you say with a playful hum.
Neteyam lets out a frustrated groan, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. “It's not my fault you're so alluring,” he mutters, looking up at you with a cheeky grin. “I can't control myself when you're around, my beautiful mate.” He sighs and lowers his head, allowing you to continue painting him. Despite his protests, a pleased look comes over his face as he enjoys your skill and touch.
“I can't believe you,” you shake your head at his response. “And here I thought that I would be the needier one when it comes to that,” you tease as you're still focused on applying the paint on his shoulder.
“You might very well be the needier one,” Neteyam tells you with a grin, his gaze traveling from the paint to your face. “But it's not hard to tempt me into making love with you all day and night, my love.” He reaches a hand up, sliding his fingers under your chin to lift your head, so he can kiss you deeply.
Your heart is beating hard as you hum again at the kiss. “You're distracting me,” you say before giving him a small peck on his lips and dipping your fingers again in the paint, trying hard to not get too distracted by his words and gesture despite the way it makes you feel tingly inside.
“Well, that's the point,” he admits to you with a shameless smile. “I want to drive you wild with desire, making you so desperate that you just can't wait to do it again.” He chuckles, leaning forward and nibbling on your earlobe. "Did it work?" He asks in a sultry whisper.
“Why are you like this,” you can't help but chuckle at his words, really trying to not get distracted by his attempts, “But very tempting, I must say.” You stood up for a while before sitting down on the log he sat on before, removing his braids and queue from his back to his front so you could paint the back of his shoulder.
“You know you love it,” Neteyam tells you with a wry grin, leaning forward slightly so you can easily paint his back. He closes his eyes and relaxes, letting you work your skills on him. “Besides, I'm your man, your warrior, it's my duty to protect you, entertain you, and pleasure you.” He lets out a soft sigh. “And if I'm not doing that, then I haven't completed my job as your mate, now have I?”
Your heart soars in happiness at his words. A big smile paints your face as you paint his back. “And you're doing a very wonderful job at it, beloved.” You kiss the back of his head before getting up from the log to sit down in front of him again.
“I'm glad to hear it," Neteyam tells you with a smile. He gazes at you with admiration, taking in the sight of you painting him and how attractive you look doing it. He reaches out, squeezing your knee with a smile. “Are you almost done? Or do you need more time?” He asks playfully, tracing circles on your leg with his thumb.
“Your face, love. Now, stay still.” You dip your fingers in the paint before applying it to his face. Neteyam nods and stays perfectly still as you paint his face. He watches with much interest as you carefully apply the pattern into place, noting how each stroke of the paint makes him look even more imposing than before. When you finish, he smiles up at you from under his battle paint. “How do I look?”
“Like a fearsome warrior?” You reply with a playful chuckle. Admiring the way he looks in his full warrior attire once he stood up. "Fearsome? Maybe," Neteyam muses, flexing his arm for you. "But don't forget about the appealing factor," he teases, placing his hand on his hip in a provocative fashion. He glances at you, making sure you got a good look at his toned physique.
You chuckle at his words as you stand up as well, grabbing your bow and arrows as you hang them on your shoulder. “Now, are you ready to fight, beloved?” He smiles, making sure you're also ready. “As ready as I could be,” you nod. He gives you a short kiss on the lips and a long kiss on the forehead,
“I still want to do it once we get back home.” He grins suggestively at you as he squeezes your bum before you walk side by side towards the gathering. Looks like you two are about to get really tired from today.
