I’m going to slowly put this blog to bed. I’m not deleting it or anything but I probably won’t be open to starting new rps unless on discord. I will be looking to eventually to move to Pillowfort if it turns out to be worthwhile. Anyone who wants to rp please feel free to add me on discord, though please drop a message telling me who you are in advance.

“Excuse you. I am ‘eternally youthful’.” She responded casually to the comment, but Seiga did wonder just how did Riteraru pick up on her longevity. Maybe it was just a youkai thing.
“If you’re worried about not serving a purpose, you should know that going around cutting people up is the last thing anybody wants you to be doing here in Gensokyo. I haven’t been here a significantly long time myself, but it has it’s own special rules in place that you ought to follow.”
Not that she knows where Riteraru’s ‘eyes’ would be on the sword’s body, but Seiga looks over her own shoulder in order to give a small smile. “I’ll be the one deciding whatever purpose you may have now, so don’t worry too much about it, Miss Odachi. I suppose it’s up to me to be your ‘guide’ in this land.”
She continued walking with an added spring in her step, though that was mostly from her still adjusting to carrying the long sword tied to her back. “If you ask me, you’re not unlike a young, excited foreigner who obviously stands out from the rest.”
“Oh so you are immortal then Mistresss Kaku?” She asked. Though Riteraru didn’t stay on that question for long as soon she was clanking around in disagreement with not cutting people up. “What do you use a sword for other than cutting people up? Don’t say cutting wood or chopping vegetables! U-Um, please, Mistress Kaku,” She complained. Riteraru didn’t really have eyes rather she could see from anywhere from her body. “W-Well please give me a purpose that’s fitting for a masterpiece like me!” she answered. As for the comment about her being a foreigner, it did have an effect though it was deep down and with all the seals on her. “But I’m not fat or have blonde hair, or muscle-y,” she commented.

“Mistress Kaku is just fine.” She can’t remember the last time anybody referred to her so formally. There was a certain charm to it.
“Wow, that’s quite the string of misfortunes for you.” Seiga commented as she walked down the road with a large blade on her back. “Personally speaking, I think there’s a novelty and charm to a sword that hasn’t drawn any blood. You’re still ‘clean’ in that sense, and for a weapon as old as yourself, that can be considered special.”
She wonders briefly to herself if it’d be okay for her to walk into the village with such a conscious weapon. She already had a bit of a reputation, after all. “So special in fact, I think I’m going to keep you for a while. It can’t have been very long since you arrived her, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been acting as foolishly as you were earlier…”
“I don’t think it’s a good thing that I haven’t drawn blood! I was made for that exact purpose but I’ve never gotten to do it. Not even once! What kind of tool can’t even be used for what it was made for?” Riteraru complained. However with how wrapped up in seals she was, she couldn’t do anything more than that.
The blade’s sheath shook a bit in excitement at the idea of being kept and not immediately abandoned. “Your going to keep me? That’s great Mistress Kaku! To be owned by a powerful person is the dream of all tools!” she praised the hermit. “Especially one as old as you!” she also let slip out. It wasn’t an ability though it may as well be, but turns out when all you’ve heard for a hundred years are people in suits and lab-coats discussing how to tell how old things are, you pick it up. Because of this Riteraru herself was able to discern how old things were pretty easily even if it didn’t make exact logical sense.
“I only arrived probably like less than an hour ago. Where have I arrived at anyway? This isn’t any museum it’s outside but I don’t see any tall buildings,” she mentioned showing about how much she knew of Gensokyo. Which is to say zero things.

“Ah, so it’s like it comes with the package.” Marya said, nodding at her. “I guess it must work in a sense similar to mine. I could try to separate my clothes from my body, but then I’d stay with two separate bodies, one above all, and I’d have to make all the details of the human body, but that would take a while and it’d be so boooring…At least you managed to get some nice clothes and a body for, like, free.”
“But I didn’t come in a package. Neither did these clothes! They just appeared on me along with my body!” she said completely missing the point. As for the rest of what the fairy was saying, well Riteraru didn’t get any of it. Besides fairies are dumb, she was told that so it must have been something not worth understanding!

“That does tend to be the best bet in the outside world. If you can’t pass yourself off as human, keep a low profile.” Chen said. “Humans can become very scared of things they don’t understand, and those in the outside world actually know very little about youkai beyond folklore and mythology, which isn’t much.” Chen studies had included things about the outside world, just in case Yukari needed her to go into the outside world for her.
“Anyway, if you keep heading in that direction…” Chen pointed off into the distance. “You’ll eventually come across the human village. Just try not to cause any trouble or hurt anyone and you should be fine. Humans tend not to bother youkai who don’t bother them.”
Tilting her head Riteraru smiled. “I can pretend to be human easily now that I have this body!” she excitedly said while poking her own cheek. Though maybe a bit too hard compared to what a human would do, considering her head was being tilted by the amount of force she was using. “I just have to hide my true body and I look completely human, see?” she added on before throwing her sword into a nearby bush. Holding her arms out Riteraru did a little spin, to her credit she did at least look physically human enough.

The praise fed your ego, as usual, even when it was upon something as ‘easy’ as to float and fly.
The fact the sword youkai wanted to reach her potential but didn’t want to leave the village made you raise an eyebrow before you went and landed back on the floor, with a lady-like grace and stance.
“If you live with the humans forever, you won’t be able to reach that potential of yours…I mean, I’ve seen it before…certain youkai becoming weak because they live in peace with the humans here…”
“When I attacked the humans when I first arrived to Gensokyo, a lot of weakened youkai started complaining because they lost their spark…but there I was, rampaging through the village and showing everyone that living in complete peace with your food just ends up making you too soft…”
Riteraru nodded along to this information. It certainly made sense, even if she didn’t actually need to harm humans to get her food. Still if living with her food source made her soft then she should do the opposite. Live with the opposite of her food. But what would be the opposite of human? Riteraru pondered this while staring at Remilia still nodding absentmindedly at the vampire. “I see now!” she suddenly exclaimed. “What your saying is if I want to be a hard youkai I should find a powerful youkai and live with them! The opposite of living with humans which make me soft!” she explained with a self satisfied face and a prideful stance. “Where would I find a powerful youkai?” Riteraru asked herself. Even as she asked this, the sword was still looking at Remilia. could that be considered an insult or was the sword just being really dense? Spoiler, its the latter.

“Ah, those are terrible. I’m glad I don’t need to eat or sleep, but can’t you make your clothes part of your body?” Marya asked, tilting her head, “I made this, these clothes are a part of my body, so I’m both always dressed and always naked.”
“I don’t fully get it! But like the clothes I have on now were the clothes I had when I first woke up with a human like body. But I even tried getting naked and switching my body back into my actual body and it worked fine. I think the clothes are just magic clothes that can be pushed into my body like I can,” she explained to the best of her ability. The true nature of her clothes was a representation of her sheath. Despite this interesting fact about them they are indeed just regular clothes wearable by anyone who can fit it. It just has the special ability to also do whatever it is Riteraru does when she merges her two bodies together.

“Of course I knew that, this is more of a place for you to fall back to in case you get find out and chased outside of the village. Afterall, they are going to be suspicious of you if they notice that you’ve yet to change.”
“And of course you’ll be working here and helping me tend to the shop. That’s part of the payment for letting you stay here really.”
“Why would I be falling backward into the shop? I would just walk in like a regular sword!” she explained. Obviously she didn’t quite get what he was talking about. “If I get chased out of the village then I’ll find another place to live as simple as that!” she exclaimed.
“So I’ll still be working, how is that better then being at the blacksmith? He lets me do whatever when he’s not around!” Riteraru added on, sure it was a lie but she did want a sweeter deal. She is a youkai after all.

“Well…you still need to learn a lot about Gensokyo…but counting with that you stay inside the Village as a blacksmith that much, you may not have to mix with the youkai that live differently.” Maybe she will, eventually, or maybe she won’t if she doesn’t go out too much.
Either way, the moment she starts floating, you do the same, flapping your wings once and letting yourself float in middle air, while sitting and crossing your legs with style.
“Sounds kind of like when I turn into a swarm of bats…with practice, though, you will get the hang of it to the point of it not being difficult anymore…”
“But if you limit yourself to live with that human in the Village…maybe you won’t reach your full potential…”
Riteraru would clap her hands at Remilia when she started flying. The amount of control she had was very impressive compared to the sword’s. Who had to keep on moving up and down unable to really keep herself still in the air. “I see, I’ll be sure to practice a lot then!” she said cheerfully.
The sword youkai would tilt her head at the idea of limiting her own potential. Coming to the decision that limiting herself would be bad for her eventual owner so she flew up closer to the vampire. “That’s not good! I want to reach my full potential! But if I can’t while living the human’s village...” she went from random exclamation right back to thinking to herself. Her thought process was more or less staying with humans means no full potential so she should do the opposite. Find youkai and live with them. While humming this thought out she looked at Remilia who was not human.

“I mean, would you have been able to do anything without a body?” Chen asked. “If you had made a fuss in a form like that, you would have caused a panic and they might have gotten someone to exorcise any spirits from the sword so it might be for the best that you did nothing, if you even could have done anything else.”
They had pretty much come to the edge of the village. Chen could basically point them in the right way now. But before then…
“…Humans have a lot of potential. But they also have short lives, unless they end up becoming youkai through one way or another. Some of them are not to be under-estimated.”
“Even without a body I could still move around!” Riteraru said raising her hand as she spoke. Then to prove her point she’d float the oversized blade up into the air. “Oh but you’re right I’d probably get exorcised, maybe it’s for the best that I just stayed asleep most of the time,” she would continue as her blade floated back into place on her back.
Seeing the edge of the village Riteraru would run a bit ahead of Chen. “Humans have potential got it!” she repeated to try and remember it proper. “Human live about seventy to eighty years, that’s not even enough time to become tsukumogami, but if you say they are not to be underestimated then I’ll believe you!”.

“Hmm…” Rinnosuke listened enough even as they went to sit in their chair. Leaning forward however whilst resting his head on his hand, the merchant pondered over something, something she’d hear not long after, a proposal, in a way.
“Why not work here instead? Or better yet, why not stay here until you find an actual owner that can put you to actual use?”
“I already have a place to stay while I find my owner. The blacksmith in the human village, He lets me stay there for free in exchange for helping him with simple work,” she explained simply. Riteraru would grab another cracker to munch on before speaking again. “Oh unless are you going to let me laze around and not work?” she asked the possibility of getting the same treatment for nothing being attractive for her.

Idea, move the other tsukumogami to my other multimuse blog and make this blog just for Riteraru again.
Not that I have much going on here in the first place.

“Just how eager are you to be used again..?” The shopkeeper would question as they’d emerge from their kitchen with a tray with two cups of green tea and a plate of rice crackers. This inquiry of his being directed at the one staring off at one of the shelves in his store, a blade tsukumogami to be exact.
Of course, he already had an idea as to what their answer would be, but that didn’t exactly stop him from asking, especially since seems to yearn so strongly for it.
Riteraru would turn from some gadget she was staring at reaching a hand over to poke it when Rinnosuke spoke up. Turning around Riteraru replied “Very eager! I still haven’t had the chance to be used even since I came to Gensokyo!”. Seeing the green tea and rice crackers she would walk over to the counter to quickly take one and start nibbling on it. “Though I have been having fun doing what I wanted without an owner,” she remarks having gotten used to being her own entity a bit more.
Having answered his question the blade youkai would dig in proper on the rice cracker downing it quickly and reaching for another one.

“Well, most of them don’t have any special powers.” Reimu was an exception. “Take Marisa Kirisame, for example. She is one of the most powerful humans in Gensokyo, but I hear she has to do a lot of studying and a lot of experimenting to keep up with people like Reimu and Sanae, the mikos. A lot of regular people don’t have any powers, though, and aren’t very strong.”
“Well, you don’t have your body in the outside world, do you?” Chen remembered Riteraru’s musing about her probably losing her body if she went through the barrier. “If you had your body, they might have thought differently.” Chen looked up at her, continuing to walk.
“Yep I was just a sword, I didn’t do much moving around either since I was always in one display case or another!” Riteraru said happily. “So you’re saying I should have made a fuss while I was in the museum to make them get to know what I am?” she asked. Still following behind the bakeneko, Riteraru would take the odd glance at her true body a bit lost in thought now.
“Oh then humans are stronger then I thought?” she’d ask apparently the idea that some humans are stronger then others would be a rather hard idea for the tsukumogami to wrap her head around.

“Well you never said that!” the gun huffed, putting her hands on her hips as the other explained. That…sounded easy to do. But also hard, because she’d never done anything like it before! “Uhh…hmmmm..” she mumbled, glancing around before shrugging, pointing her gun at the sky.
“…” more bullets came firing out, instead of danmaku.
Watching the bullets fire out Riteraru would nod, Yep those are indeed still the kill people kind of bullets. “Huh... I thought that would work, maybe you aren’t trying hard enough to fire bullets that don’t kill people!” Riteraru decided that it must be Sienna’s fault and not her’s as a teacher.
“Maybe try again but with less bullets?” she asked. With that she rose her hand up in the air and fired some simple danmaku up into the air as another example. “See? like that, it’s easy once you get the hang of it!”
