The sun is colored orange from the ash and soot of the fires...it’s beautiful to look at, but awful to be in; I feel so grimy after stepping out for a few errands.

When did not doing anything in the summer become a source of stress for me? When did I start thinking taking a break to recharge is a sign that I’m slowing down and falling behind?

Moon or sun? Lake or ocean? Roses or tulips? Silver or gold? Beaches or mountains? Thunderstorms or hurricanes? Past or future? Constellations or galaxies? Morning or night? Winter or summer?

as the colder months approach: i wish you all a healthy, calm end of the year. i wish you tasty cups of tea, comfortable clothes, warm beds, nutritious meals in safe homes, good music, new friends and unwavering health. you deserve good things now.

just because you don’t look like somebody who you think is attractive doesn’t mean you aren’t attractive. flowers are pretty but so are christmas lights and they look nothing alike

Sometimes I’m just going about my day and suddenly I remember something toxic that a friend said to me and I’m hurting all over again

Please help support farmworkers as they continue to work the fields, breathing in smoke and ash as wildfires rage nearby. They sacrifice so much to be able to provide for their loved ones, often working overtime while receiving no hazard pay, no fair wages, and recently no basic PPE. This is not a new issue. Wildfire season has simply heightened the existing injustices. Please help.

women write men with so much nuance and care and more dimension than most men in real life will ever have and men write women like they’ve never spoken to a woman in their entire life

If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.

in conclusion students:
read your emails. especially now, when there’s no other form of communication with your professors (face to face).
don’t ignore the reminder emails that they send every week, and if they’re really nice, notifications of when you miss your assignments.
read any and every email thoroughly for information about deadlines, instructions for assignments, heads up for grades. it’s not a good excuse to not be ‘tech savvy’. your professors are there to help, and you should be banging down their doors for assistance if you need it. don’t just sit there and say ‘you don’t know!’
and don’t lie to your professors…..it’s not becoming.
