This is honestly kinda funny to look back on because two months later I was at my current/best so far job that pretty much changed my life and low-key caused me to disappear off Tumblr. Funny how things work out.

Hey friends, so just a quick update to say I'll be slower on gifsets and other content for the time being as I deal with irl stuff. Long story short, I've made a pretty bad decision career-wise and have to find a way out of that.

This isn't a hiatus notice or anything, it just means that I probs won't keep to my (really quite insane) gifset a week schedule. And it's not like I've been writing an awful lot of meta posts anyway but those are delayed too, just until I organize my head. Thanks all for the support and like I said this isn't a hiatus, I'll be around, it just might be in a lesser capacity.

The way Nat sobs like a little kid in this scene absolutely broke me. We have never seen Nat openly sob like this— not when her dad died, not when the plane crashed, not when Javi or Jackie died, not even when she killed Coach. This is Nat finally losing any hope or resolve that she had left.

Well, because I realized the world is even colder than I am. You know, and the only thing that can keep you from freezing to death is to have good friends around you to keep you warm. So, I decided that I want to use my bitch powers to protect the people that I care about.

Sometimes, you just want to know what’s up with those cartoon Sapphics and decide whether you want to watch the rest of the show later, and that’s okay. So for all your Bubbline needs, an updated and now complete version of The Bubbline Guide is here! A little something to help you navigate through 285 Adventure Time episodes and highlight which ones are relevant to the story of Marceline and Bonnibel. Want to watch Obsidian? Here’s all that you need to know to appreciate just how amazing it is.

This time around, I prepared a proper Excel sheet for you guys, colour-coded for your convenience and complete with notes and even links to the episodes - but you didn’t get those from me. It includes several sheets, actually:

a comprehensive overview that includes 108 episodes and covers majors plots that relate to the two

a basic Bubbline list with 26 episodes, some optional

one with 69 (nice) episodes, Marcy and Bonnie stories only

one with almost all episodes from the first sheet BUT instead of a chronological order it has “storyline chunks” that lump together arcs and related episodes so you can keep track of what’s going on in the Land of Ooo

All episodes have an “Importance” and a “Relevance” column: the first has several categories so you can choose to skip optional and recommended ones and keep to the important stuff. Relevance is a few words about the episode, how it relates to Bonnie and Marcy and which major arc or recurring character it involves. Or just a random tidbit from me.

Whatever your needs, hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for here. I’m especially proud of that last sheet as Adventure Time sometimes waits a long time to bring back an arc. With the Importance and Relevance columns combined, you can choose whichever episodes you want to involve or skip and do so having a general idea of what it involves. Basically, I’m giving you all the information you need to put together your own customized list. SO, without further ado:

This is quite subjective, of course, especially when it comes to importance, so feedback is more than welcome. The sheet is still a work in progress and I want it to be as easy to navigate as possible. I realize colour-coding might be convenient for some and annoying for others so message me if you have any suggestions. My hope is that we can make this accessible to anyone who wants to see what Bubbline is all about without having to comb through all AT episodes. And hey, if you end up liking the show, you can always just watch the rest! If you follow the longest list, you’ll touch on a lot of the most important arcs and plot points, anyway.

Before I go, I just want to ask you to spread this around if you can. Not only am I quite proud of this but I genuinely want as many people as possible to be able to appreciate the story of the sentient piece of gum and the cartoon vampire who found their way back to each other.

Crazy to think that it's now been ~a year and a half since my presence on here has only been occasional and not very substantial. I do check tumblr every now and then and get these bursts of oh, I should finish what was unfinished. But you know how it goes, life gets busy and for better or for worse, I just don't have the kind of time that I used to to dive in truly ridiculously deep with something like Glee, or any of my other fandoms.

Well, I say for better or for worse but I can honestly say to you guys that it's for the better. Life is good. It's different than it used to be and that change started two years ago now but yeah, it's good. The tuiyla who infrequently pops up here again to go "and another thing!" is not the same who would do all those in-depth analysis and spend countless hours on gifsets. And you know, much love to that tuiyla, honestly, and much love to all of you. I've been going down memory lane with some posts and interactions and I want you to know that I am grateful for the very active era that I had on here. It was, above all, fun, and not only did it get me through the pandemic but gave me such an outlet for the nerdiest of impulses and creative bursts. And all of you were truly so kind to me. Sure, there was the occasional fandom drama haha and anons wanting to stir shit but what's some pettiness to the outpouring of support in my dorky endeavors. People interacted with my projects and humored my many ramblings and I appreciate that. It's still a little crazy to me that people were so invested in what I had to say and engaged with it all.

I'm aware this is starting to sound like some kind of goodbye post and it's not, not really, but also I think I'd be foolish not to acknowledge that the era I'm describing is over. And that's okay, really. There are still things I wanna finish, one day, if I get a strong enough burst of motivation. There are several things that come to mind when I think of what my tumblr magnum opus would be, like Santana comphet part II or that bloodbending essay I've been sitting on for the better half of a decade, if not a full decade. We'll see. We'll see if I ever finish gif WIPs or touch the Glee singing database again. I'll fully admit that there are asks I will probably never get to and for that I'm truly sorry because it is an honour for people to want to know what my two cents on a given topic is. I'll be going through some old asks and see what I can realistically get to, not that I would expect anons from literal years ago to still be keeping an eye out for answers haha.

But to those who are reading this and recognize this silly username from a while back, can I just say, I wish you the best. I hope you're well. There are many, many users on here that I look back on with such fondness. So many anons made so many of my days with their kindness and thoughts and engagement. It really is something to come back to, even if briefly, even if rarely, even when life gets chaotic. In a good way, but chaotic nonetheless. Like, guys, I'm literally getting my first tattoo in two weeks and it does have to do with my username. Isn't that crazy? Not that I'm getting my url tattooed on my body, obviously, but Tui and La will soon be doing their eternal dance on my arm. Wild. And beyond that, I'm currently very grateful for the job that I have, that I started two years ago and changed the course of my life. I'm also soon maybe possibly starting a part-time job in teaching high schoolers, also very crazy. We'll see how that will go.

Well, all that's to say, hello everyone. I'm here, sometimes, and appreciate all of you and this crazy site. Good memories from here and it's not something I've fully relegated to the past.

I’m not the anon who mentioned the podcast and their opinions on I kissed a girl. The thing I thought about it? Kevin loved Naya and praised her acting and singing - fine. But neither he or Jenna really get how bad that episode actually is. They like Finns version of Girls just want to have fun. Eek

Kevin misses a lot of the nuance of the show.

This is another reaction to me asking how Kevin and Jenna handled IKAG on their podcast.

To be fair, I wouldn't expect them to really get into exactly why IKAG is absolute trash. It would mean criticizing several crew members, most notably the main writer of the ep but also the bigger picture of s3a that led us here. It would mean an uncomfortable conversation on Finn's ch that I 100% understand they wouldn't wanna have even if they had those critical thoughts.

At the end of the day, I'd take even just some challenging of the framing. It's not meant to be a critical analysis podcast and that's fine, I just don't know if I wanna hear them praise any aspect of Finn's ch here. Liking GJWF is fine, ig, praising Cory's performance is of course valid even when Finn was being scum of the earth.

Kevin and Jenna were indeed critical of IKAG and fully aware of how it should've been done differently, done better. I was pleasantly surprised.

Oh this is also so old now. They're fully covering season 5 now haha.
