non dungeon rap release this time, just regular ambient/dungeon synth.

Initially, I made this for the previous PR release (the "Монах" one). I made the beats and everything, but I didn't feel like the music fit this artwork, or the saint's story in question. Artwork feels more like a forest synth demo, so I made some forest synth for it (to be fair it's more like regular old school dungeon synth)

Saint in the artwork is Prohor of Pčinja, a hermit who lived in a forest and who told Diogenes that he would become the emperor

It's a combination of head of a camomile, and the body and leaves part is peppermint. I probably won't use it that often in the artworks, just needed a little avatar, and this was actually going through my head since I came up with the name, so I just had to make it xd

yet another name I'll be releasing music under! This one will just be pretty much consist of small demo collections of clean ambient-ish emo and dsbm riffs. Feel free to listen on shuffle! (with 5 seconds crossfade)

releases will pretty much just consist of a riff or two, looped and dipped into reverb, and fried up with some lo-fi output. It's very much inspired by surrenderdorothy's first release, sounding like unfinished music that just loops around.

for a couple of years now I haven't been playing guitar that much, so this project is really here to force me to play it a bit more. I also wanted to "branch out", if you will, with making a bit less depressive and as dense music. I mean don't get me wrong, I like listening and making sadboy music, but man is it sometimes exhausting having to "force" myself to be in a certain state for that kind of music. That's why I initially started other side projects, to "expand the vibes" I guess xd

this sideproject will only live on it's own bandcamp page (and my yt of course) and won't have it's own soundcloud page. This is because (1) I can't be bothered juggling another email address just for a tiny recreational project, and (2) soundcloud is an awful platform if you don't plan on getting the premium artist thing

Icon featured in this artwork is called "Saint Anthony being beaten by demons". Now if you ask me, this genuenly sounds like some old-school death metal album title or something. Found the icon here btw, a website about demonology from a Orthodox Christian perspective

remember the last post about "not doing the funeral trap thing"? I guess I lied XD

to be honest, this album is more ambient in nature. Still has those mix running 808s, but everything is written in a super simple way. My intention was to write a dsbm/ambient album initially, but I just miss that sound for whatever reason. One of the things that's been inspiring me for a while is midwest emo (I mean it's really just nothing,nowhere. and some random bands here and there). I could also tag this as "emo ambient", but I don't think I fit in what Claire Rousay imagined (I'm tagging this post like that anyway cuz the name goes hard icl)

this release also has no vocals, since I felt like it would ruin the general atmosphere. I mean I think of that every song I write, but this album didn't feel like it had stuff missing. It felt just right to keep it minimal... Plus the stuff I wrote this album about is kind of hard for me to put into words. Guess it matches the theme xd

I'm considering maybe taking a little break from this sound. I've noticed that I'm not playing the guitar that often anymore, so I'm thinking of maybe writing some more guitar-centric stuff. And I don't mean like shredding or something. I'm thinking of something like ambient music or atmo black metal (without 808s). But we'll see, I still very much like this sound

[2nd of August 2024] tvnalad - Helen's Tapes Volume 1: Hometown

Okay, so this is a much bigger project than usual. Tt's an album with a game accompanying it! (It's more of an "interactive" audio visualiser, actually). The project revolves around Helen's audio cassette diary, where each tape captures her thoughts and experiences.

I'm going to yap a lot in this post, so I just want to mention that there's an actual story going on here. This album was also initially intended as a "portfolio piece". I'm trying to get a job as a game composer since finding a developer job has been super challenging for me.

This project is an ambient album inspired mostly by the earlier Silent Hill games (and older games in general). The idea was to use similar techniques they used back in the day, like using sample CDs to make ambient and trip-hop pieces. While this album has a lot of that workflow, I also wrote many parts myself—so it's not all just samples! There are even some tracks with no samples at all.

The original plan was to create random ambient music and call the tapes "Helen's Bakery Vol. X", but that felt a bit uninspiring. I came up with a story early in the project, so I went with it. I won't go into any details about the story here; it's for you to discover! Plan is to tell the story in 5 volumes.

Last year, I started mapping for Quake 1 because I wanted to get back into game development. So I had the idea to create a map inside Quake, take a screenshot, and use that as the album cover. While working on that map, I made multiple locations and sceneries, so I decided to go all in and create visuals for each song!

And that's where the game part came in. I initially planned to edit the video to look like someone recorded themselves "playing the game", but it felt more convincing to make an actual game and record myself. The development took a bit of time (all of July, to be exact), but that was mostly because I didn't plan everything out from the start. I've made the game moddable too, so people can create their own "volumes" and view them in the game!

To experience this project, you don't have to download the game—you can just watch the YouTube video and get the same story. The Bandcamp upload doesn't have a way for me to share all the visuals made for the album, but it does have higher-quality audio and no background hiss.

And yes, the AMBIE logo is Dolby parody xd

so for this release, I wanted to do something a bit different. The past releases (excluding the burzum joke one) were all super drone-y and black metal sounding. For this release I wanted to change up a bit and make it less "monotone" I guess, making the synths do more stuff and be slightly faster

Another oceangrunge release (after a while)! This one is a little bit different from the other releases tho. Instead of sampling oher people's music, I instead used AI generated samples (that's why this release also ended up being a lot more ambient than the others)
