im curious to hear what you think we are should do @ chekhovs firing squad 👀👀👀
oh yes omg okay so idk why for the first four episodes I got this feeling that someone 'bout to die??? Not immediately but definitely eventually. There are so many of them after all. Like I still think someone is very, very likely to get shot???????? I don't know Bad Buddy seemed like a logical drama and then there was surprise shooting????? It seems to be a theme. History 3: MODC my behated!!!!!! Anyway full blown surprise mafia plot ep 14 - 16 there are some boys left who seem like they will not be kissing other boys. So what could they be doing you ask? Yes that's right, they're committing crimes.

Two things are always true about Ming:
1. Ming out psychos himself every single freaking episode. Everytime I think he's hit the glass ceiling of absolutely bat shit psychotic things he can do, he out-deranges himself.
Tumblr media
2. He gets dumber by the day. Imagine paying a guy 5 million bhat to stand in for the guy you're in love without knowing THAT IS the boy you're in love with while simultaneously looking for that boy. Also not knowing that boy is the boy you've loved all along.
Tumblr media
Big idiot energy.

Gif stolen from @poomphuripan
The cutest thing is Ming being too drunk to be sexy. He's just looking and Joe, but there are no barriers, no walls.
Nothing of his usual armour to protect himself.
And this is what we get.

Last year I made a (very random) post about QL actors celebrating Bangkok Pride so this year I decided camp the socials again to find familiar faces because it was a lot of fun to do and it made me incredibly happy. 🌈
There's a lot of different parades and events today with more to come in the following weeks. Some actors might have to work today or won't post pictures until later. They might be attending in a different city or voice their support in other ways. Please remember that celebrating Pride is fun and not an obligation.
That being said, let's start with the kings, Porsch Apiwat and Arm Sappanyoo (who are already dressed up to marry asap)
Tumblr media
Followed by Earth Katsamonnat/Cooheart in beautiful traditional Thai dress:
Tumblr media
City of Stars' Job Krisz & Porsche Sitha (and if they want to kiss on the mouth again they should totally do that because gtfo toxic fandom) along with some more of their Star Hunter friends.
Tumblr media
(Some of) the Playboyys: Shell Thakrit, Dech Narongdet, Vivit Pharunrit, Boat Pakorn, Fay Chintub & KaowOat Supasin waving their own banner.
Tumblr media
LYKN (who have their own float)
Tumblr media
And hey look, I found Emi Thasorn looking cute as heck:
Tumblr media
Ohm Thitiwat & Atom Nathapop on a jetski.
Tumblr media
Frame Ritchanon, Ryan Panya & Kong Kooppong looking way better in motion.
Tumblr media
Kun Kittikkun alongside Sprite Patteerat looking absolutely stunning.
Tumblr media
No pics of the Bad Guy My Boss boys but here we have Kad Ploysupa, James Hayward Prescott, Nick Steiner Gaksch, Fam Thanupat, Kin Anakin & Perth Napat celebrating (source).
Earth Teerapat (who went from Earth to Din and back to Earth), Double Tubthep (House of Stars) & First Kantapon representing Bibbidii Entertainment.
Tumblr media
(I'll add to this post when I find more pics but please feel free to reblog with more actors or actresses. Everyone welcome of course! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🩷)

I love how they had both Wut and Sol explicitly state that new Joe reminds them of old Joe and yet with Ming it’s always ‘him’ and Joe always misunderstands it to be Tong - 🤡 on 🤡 violence

AND THEN HE GOES AHEAD AND PUTS A PRICE ON IT!!!! MADNESS!!!!!!!! I AM SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP THE HIGH AND LOWS THIS SHOW TAKES ME
I really love Joe as a character. And I think the reason why he does in fact complement Ming so well is because he’s just as delightfully illogical. In many ways he’s quite similar to Ming in his approach to things but the praxis that drives his decision making comes from kindness rather than rich boy narcissism.
The entirety of episode 6 I’m looking at him and he’s made no growth from before his death. Sir PLEASE. you died entangled in the mess of your ex and ex’s married crush’s weird jealousy, Wut is trying to buy you some time so you can avoid it. But no somehow his dignity is more important than self preservation in this moment.
And yet when it comes to Ming and Sol (more about his past relationship with Sol) dignity is nowhere to be found. He doesn’t so much as want an apology when Sol had returned from Korea in life 1??? Like he’s broken every resolve of self preservation, diving headfirst into his past life for who? That woman isn’t his mother?????
And yes, while there would be a number of justifications behind still sacrificing yourself for a woman who’s been your mother for a short while, Joe is doing it because he loves her. There’s no resentment, no regrets, whining or complaining, he loves her so once more his dignity has no bearings on his decision making.
Joe is poor yes and he has setbacks but I think the narrative shows again and again that he’s not helpless. He stands up for himself when he needs to, he fights when he needs to and he also picks up Sol’s call in the middle of a fight with Ming because he’s not actually unaware of the status of his dignity around Ming as one might be at first led to believe. He becomes an actor when he needs to - in BOTH lives.
The state of his life and the states of his relationships have this element of choice to them that is so delightfully ???????? And I think the reason why there’s such a thriller like element to this story, even though the foul play around Joe’s death hasn’t made itself known in any big way yet, is because of this dichotomy in how he values his own dignity.
It’s always all or nothing with this man and ultimately I think that’s exactly what it’s like for Ming. If there’s a sin they ascribe to both of theirs is Pride…until it isn’t I guess 😂

So I literally just started watching We Are today, but it’s been impossible to avoid some of the unfounded criticisms about it over the past few weeks where people are calling it a waste of time or not queer enough simply because it’s a fluffy romcom. Watching the series with that in mind, I found this conversation in the second episode particularly enlightening.

Sometimes you want a series that makes you think and sometimes you just want to watch something because it’s fun. The fantastic thing about Thai BL is that they give us both. If fluffy romances are not your thing, there are plenty of other options out there, but it’s important to remember, especially during Pride, that showing queer happiness on screen is just as important—if not more important—than showing queer struggles.

the last time i took a look at xitter they were having "it's immoral to do drugs or have sex at free palestine encampments, these are serious spaces for serious militant action and it shows you are disrespectful and not committed to the cause if you do drugs or have sex there" discourse and i honestly do not think i have ever seen a piece of discourse so thoroughly and utterly removed from the culture of actual on-the-ground activism in my life
