“I want the relationship that’s healthiest for Bella” why. This is a book about vampires and werewolves and codependency and secrecy that kills you. If Bella were meant to be a normal happy healthy human girl she wouldn’t be in the story in the first place. This is fiction, she isn’t real, characters in stories don’t need to be healthy or live in reality. She deserves to suck blood and live forever if she wants idk
#yes also I will always have opinions about what happened to Bella#but fiction is adventure and isn’t related to what I actually want to happen to people in real life

anyway I love things like having independence, being intelligent, taking pride in my skills, not feigning incompetence, referring to myself as a woman instead of a girl, aging unapologetically, having pores, stretch marks, grey hairs, wrinkles and body fat, listening to my body's needs, eating as much as I need to satisfy my hunger, being bare-faced, wearing comfortable clothes, etcetera

“The outside world holds no interest for me without you.”
I have always loved this detail here: Bella's first time visiting a new country, and she is so lost and fascinated by her surroundings, and Edward just watches her. Her preoccupied face. He pulls her carefully through the crowd while she enjoys her surroundings, just keeping her safe in his arms ❤️🌸✨✨

Edward was impressed, but also more than a little annoyed, when Rosalie showed an unusual amount of self-control for a newborn. Carlisle had always praised his self-control. But that self-control had taken a pretty big hit when he'd quit human blood two years ago. He still wasn't back to normal. Meanwhile here comes along a stuck-up sister he didn't ask for whose newborn self-control is inexplicably strong. He grinds his teeth just a bit every time Carlisle lavishly praises Rosalie's restraint.
But what Edward doesn't see is an upbringing in which Rosalie was trained, from a very young age, to be in absolute control of her body. Perfect posture at all times. Anxious checks in the mirror as often as possible. An arsenal of beauty products, uncomfortable clothing, and accessories. Ruthless control over her eating. A beautiful, sophisticated mask as strong as steel. Carefully practiced expressions, gestures, and phrases for countless situations.
Even Rosalie isn't aware of how many years she's trained for this. Her newborn control might not be magical, but it was hard won in a thousand battles that her omniscient brother will never understand.

evangelicals being like "god made men to do This and be like This and women to do That and be like That that's just how it is" and it's just a picture of a white man and woman following traditional gender norms makes me so insane like you boring fascist fucks. god made 2 million species of beetles. god made whales, ducks, humans, and 1500 other species capable of same sex behavior. god made fish and amphibians that change sexes. god made more than 30 different intersex variations in human beings. god, in his infinite curiosity. wake up!!! fuck!!

I used to think Bella was so dramatic in new moon but now that I'm older I get it .... because my girl finally felt like she belonged somewhere, she had a hot boyfriend taking care of her and making her feel like a teenager when she has spent her whole life parenting her own parents, having amazing in-laws, a best friend......
and then EVERYONE LEAVES AS IF THEY NEVER EXISTED!!!! All of Bella's insecurities and fears came true, so she was valid for everything she did and I think she should have broken every window in the Cullen house.
