English is a language I’ve known fluently my whole life and still isn’t something I could fully learn perfectly and that makes me insecure sometimes.

But then I realize that native English speakers can’t speak their own language fully either so it balances out lol.

I recently found out “mullato” is considered offensive in the United states but in Canada we call ourselves mullato as mixed people. The term mixed is too vague here, especially since we have so many mixed indigenous people that it’s just better to specify what kind of mixed you are. I actually rarely ever hear the word mixed use in context of being half black. I live in Quebec and the black population here isn’t huge but it’s a term I’ve heard all throughout my life.

I guess in America it makes a lot more sense because there’s a deep rooted dark history there.

But the culture shock is hitting me like a bus not going to lie. A girl in a discord server I’m currently in got really mad at me for using it and we had to kick her.

Okay maybe I’m uneducated or missing something but people are calling the blue origin Katy Perry space trip a feminist’s accomplishment and I do think it’s great that we have an all female space crew

Its estimated that Jeff bezos spent between $4 million - $5 million just to send people in space for just 11 minutes and they didn’t really do anything to deem “feminist worthy”

Couldn’t that money go towards something more important? Especially what’s going on with the world today

It is OK to use AI to help with your work. To help.

Writers block sucks and sometimes you just can’t get the right phrasing, and if you using AI helps you prompt better ideas and get an idea of what you’re looking for in your wording that’s fine

and especially it can help you with writing when you’re not a native English speaker like me

I know English and speak it fluently but putting it into writing can be hard and English can sometimes sound repetitive

Just don’t have it right out everything for you.

Something that isn’t acceptable in any way however is using AI art for your work. Other than that you’re good :)

I’d like to further explain the real definition of review bombing. because I feel like a lot of people on this website don’t understand

Review bombing isn’t people making false accounts for a movie they haven’t seen, review bombing means the fandom comes together to decide that we want to show a company that we no longer want these types of movies

The fans are punishing Disney like a spoiled child, most of the reviews are coming from people who have seen the film and I’m sure there’s a couple of fake ones, but it wouldn’t have been enough to make the movie bomb this hard

Review bombing isn’t making fake accounts I mean it can be, but in this case it’s not
