I'm not one for huge reviews, but I feel that this movie is being done a huge injustice by not being talked about.

I heard of Tahara from a YouTube video mentioning Mubi. Sure enough, I spotted Rachel Sennott from the clips featured in the video. (I had just finished Bodies, Bodies, Bodies 2 weeks prior and Bottoms is my favorite movie of all time.) I decided to look it up after finishing the video and left the search tab open for a few days. When I finally watched it, it was a banger, like, I have no clue how it scores so low on IMDB.

The cinematography alone is astounding, not to mention the transitions from shot to shot. AND THE USE OF MIXED MEDIA IN CERTAIN MOMENTS GRRRRR. I found myself having to pause out of pure adoration from the acting of both Madeline Grey DeFreece, who I am absolutely going to watch more movies of, and Rachel Sennott. Their costars really shine in their performances as well, each character oozes a different archetype of high school kid.

As I don't want to spoil the movie, I won't do something too in-depth, however if you're a queer person, you're going to dig this. The best way I could describe this movie is if Blue Moon Angels, The Lesbians from Next Door from Falsettos, and Pandora had a bittersweet love child. Also, there is a shit ton of Jewish rep, it takes place in a literal fucking Synagogue.

TLDR: Jewish, sapphic movie for queers who were caught in a homoerotic friendship.

TW: Death and suicide are a big part of the movie, so skip out if you're not feeling that
