my twt thread fics 1/?
skts au where they're in the same school and it's exam season
w.c.: 853 words
a/n: so this was semi-inspired by true events. i finished my math paper and went to bother my crush abt his paper but alas, he didn't pull me down six flights of stairs OR confess (instead we spiraled and started discussing abt our fav sweets). then again, a girl can dream. happy reading!
atsumu had stayed up for almost 3 days consecutively studying for this exam and not to sound dramatic but three questions in, he was ready to give up and sleep right there on his seat, but alas, he'd invested way too much time in the subject to not write the whole damn paper.
for the first time in his life, he'd forgone extra volleyball practice for studying and he was NOT going to let his efforts go to waste, no siree, no thank you. he was gonna ace this paper and rub it into samu's face, as he should.
across the room sat his longtime crush, sakusa kiyoomi, stoic boi extraordinaire. atsumu always thought omi looked otherworldly, but especially so in the stuffy exam hall (or maybe it was the sleep deprivation talking, but his omi was perfect, no matter the circumstances).
omi's serious look, pretty curls, and gorgeous face that was partially hidden by a mask were driving the boy crazy. he had half a mind to leave his writing and stare at the raven-haired beauty but oh well. atsumu let out a small sigh. integrals were hellish, but not being able to tell omi how he felt was somehow worse.
he braved a glance at omi, and it took everything in him to pretend like his heart wasn't dancing the bleedin' macarena when he noticed that the other boy was already looking over. their eyes met and atsumu internally screamed.
the faux blond had always wanted to tell his crush about his feelings but he would be too worried about making omi uncomfortable with his presence. not everyone is okay with a confession out of the blue.
moreover, it'd taken atsumu two years to establish a good friendship with the other, he'd be damned before he lets whatever they have get ruined. sad as it might sound, atsumu knew for sure that if he was only going to have omi's friendship, he'll make his peace with that and be happy that the other boy was choosing to be a part of his life.
atsumu flashed one of his brilliant smiles and mouthed a question.
ya done writin'?
omi's eyes seemed to sparkle as he lowered his mask and mouthed back an affirmation, then asked,
how much more will you write?
atsumu's ears burned crimson and he vaguely gestured to his answer sheet, not knowing what to tell him.
at that moment, the invigilator announced that they'll collect the answer papers in 15 minutes. atsumu spared an apologetic look at omi, and turned his focus back to his exam.
once the teacher collected the papers, atsumu ignored his friends' questions about the exam and plopped himself beside omi. At the other's inquisitive gaze, atsumu shrugged, "don't gimme tha' look, I wanted to bother ya fer a bit."
"alright then. how did it go?"
"this another of yer formalities or ya really wanna know?"
omi's scowl answered the question so atsumu started talking about how he hadn't slept for almost 3 days and samu had been worried that his twin had been kidnapped.
five minutes later and atsumu was still talking when he saw that omi looked like he wanted to say something. atsumu slowed his self-info dump and tried to cajole omi into saying whatever was plaguing him.
and omi, true to himself, didn't budge, insisting that atsumu continue talking. too soon, the students were asked to disperse. suddenly, omi grabbed hold of atsumu's hand and dragged him down all six flights of stairs.
atsumu didn't know what to do. even in his wildest dreams, something like this had never happened, and he was stuck between making some tasteless flirty comment and asking Omi if he was actually genuinely okay and fine. even though they were friends, omi wasn't a huge fan of physical contact, and for him to grab hold of atsumu's wrist like this, there had to be something weird going on.
the two of them ran to a spot under a tree, where they usually talk and hang out.
omi took in a deep breath and atsumu prepared himself for whatsoever was coming next. "i- miya, no, atsumu. i never want to stop hearing about your dumb three day study plan, or how your day was, or everything about you. go out with me."
after a pause, omi's face softened, his voice grew more gentle, "please, atsumu, will you go out with me?"
for everything he expected to hear, atsumu most certainly DID NOT expect to hear this. he burst out laughing, tears leaking from the corner of his eyes, when he noted omi's heartbroken countenance.
atsumu brought his giggles to a stop and made omi look into his eyes. "kiyoomi, I'd been comin' up with ways ta ask ya the same thing."
the other boy's gloomy aura faded and his lips twitched. atsumu continued. "ya jus' beat me ta it."
kiyoomi asked, "so... what does this mean for us?"
atsumu replied, "ya like me, i like ya back, we're now datin'. Tha' means ya're never gettin' rid of me."
kiyoomi smiled brightly and oh no- atsumu.exe had stopped working.

is this a ship blog? mayhaps.
might rb (or write, we'll never know) nsfw content so i'd rather not have minors here thankyou.
